Trouble saving user presets in CAS-Bug?

Hi – I’m really starting to get frustrated with this…  For some time now (I can’t be sure, but I think it’s been since Master Suite or some time in that zone) my saved user presets in CAS patterns and buy mode/objects randomly decide they are not going to save after all.  Meaning, they save for the session, but 19 out of 20 times when I go back into CAS after rebooting the game the pattern or recolored object I saved last game is not there.  Strangely, 1 out of 20 times it *does* save.  I haven’t noticed if this is also true for clothing as I don’t save much there.  It’s getting really annoying and wasting a lot of my time, recreating things (if I can even remember what I did before).

Any ideas?  Is this a known bug, or something that can be fixed?  I’m on a MacBook Pro running Lion and have all the EPs and Stuff Packs.  I have some mods installed, but this was happening long before I installed them.  I suppose the problem could have started when I switched operating systems, but my memory is that it happened after that and I’m inclined to believe it’s a bug that started with an update.

When you save something in CAS, do you always exit the game via the menu?  Until you have entered either the main menu or shut down the game properly, it won't actually save it.   That's why if you saved anything before a crash it doesn't save so that's why I asked.

After I do a lot of build mode/CAS work on a house (and save user preset items along the way) I always return to live mode and save the game (through the main "..." menu) so that if I do crash, I don't loose all that work.  It always saves the items in my house I've redecorated, even if I do eventually crash.  Which happens a lot since I have that 2 GB limit (on a Mac).

Are you saying that the "save" function does not save the user presets?  That to do that I have to have a successfully logout of the game?  Because that it going to really suck if it's true since it's a rare day I actually get to log out like a normal person.  I'd say about 80% of the time I crash out.
