How much RAM do you have?
« Reply #30 on: September 25, 2012, 09:01:54 PM »
My tower came with 6 gigs. Today I had it upgraded to 8 gigs the max, because last night I hit with the dreaded "error code 12". Well everything was going fine, doing my saves every 10- 15 min. Then it hit again! It says to check the read me files. I don't even know where to look for them.

  • Just as well my sims game is unplayable (stupid update issues!) I don't have time these days anyway.

If my understanding is correct, every save adds to the cache, and though it creates a new default state with no progression data, after a bunch of saves it'll pack up and say goodbye anyway. So I literally restart my pc if I have been playing more than 3-4 hours. Otherwise a whole bunch of stuff start going wrong.

I have my saves numbered 1-10. So I go in look for the oldest saves and delete. I use grimsouls way to clean all caches before loading my launcher. Do far so good right now. Doing more frequent saves are a pain in the butt but its worth it.

Oh ok. Well I save every 24 sim hours. I find that if I save too often I make it worse. Also, in big builds, I save after a bunch of actions and continue building.
