Unable to Create Floor Tile
« on: September 20, 2012, 01:41:10 PM »
This seems to have happened only after Supernatural but when I am trying to build, I find that there are random places where I cannot place a floor tile. It's just- blank. Putting a column underneath it or on a nearby spot on the next floor down doesn't work. To make matters worse, this means that I can't roof my house because of that blank tile. Does it have something to do with being above a slope maybe? Has anyone else encountered this issue and if so how did you resolve the issue?

  • Just as well my sims game is unplayable (stupid update issues!) I don't have time these days anyway.

As we speak, I'm building a house that gave me the same problem. Solved it as follows: CFE false (if you don't know what it is, I'll tell you) and then in build mode go to terrain tools > level terrain, draw a block of basement underneath, then select a nearby working block and drag over the spot that's not working. It will turn green, then release. Your piece of basement will now be available to put your tile on. If you want the tile unsupported, just build the basement block one block away. Then when you delete the basement piece, it won't take the tile along with it.

Sorry, forgot to mention, if you do this above grond level you might want to activate "placefriezes on" first... Otherwise you can't draw a basement block on higher or lower levels...

Thank you SO much! I really appreciate this. I wondered if "placefriezes on" would help...

And yeah, it is an above-ground level, I am trying to build a second story but that is going to be difficult with random blank spots! I don't know what CFE is. Do I need to do testingcheatsenabled first?

CFE is for "constrainfloorelevation". Set it to true again though once you want to place stairs anywhere. It really messes you around if you don't.
