My mailman won't deliver mail nor the papergirl won't deliver.

Can you be more specific?

What are you expecting that the mail carrier isn't delivering? Reward certificates, smelted metal, cut gems, omni plant seeds, bills? When do you check the mail, I believe they deliver around 8am...? If you're expecting bills, you do not have the No Bills Ever LTR, correct? If your sim has the Good trait, can you still donate to charity?

Newspaper - you didn't cancel the service, right? If not, the paper isn't being delivered somewhere that it blends into the ground (I used to have a pale grey/white flagstone walkway, and the paper against it made it a challenge to locate). Or is it that you're trying to get it late enough that maybe a stray animal has destroyed it first?

Problem was that nothing was being delivered including the paper so i uninstalled and reinstalled and saved my game.  Cant get that saved game to open at all now so i started a new one and its still getting freeze ups but i guess that is due to running on 64 bit? im hoping they come out with a patch for 64.

I'm thinking it was a game glitch, I run on Windows 7 with 64 bit and my game is fine. I would suggest in the future if you don't already, save households you play to the family bin, they never disappear there unless you want them to. It has a separate folder, from the saved games. Also you don't have to unistall and reinstall the game to get a ''new'' game. All you have to do is, find the folder for The Sims 3, move it to the desktop, and it's like brand new. You can take the folders from the old folder and put them in the new one. Not sure how saved games work, but I know the the Library, which is what the family bin is called, works.

I appreciate all the sugestions i can get because i have started over about 6 times since i've owned this game due to freeze ups etc.  I usually do save my family to the Library at various points and i can re-locate them to a different town and i save theit house also so that i wont lose it with all the improvements i've done but when i reinstall then i lose it all.  I will have to get my son who knows more about how to save to files to help me to put them back but i am trying to learn these things on my own...LOL

A factory reset, (Factory Reset: Fix Your Game with 1/4 the Time of a Reinstall), is the topic title, is the quickest way to refresh your game.  The topic also tells you how to keep your games, libraries etc and transfer them back into your renewed game.  The frozen mailbox is not something I have encountered, sorry.  Have you tried moving and replacing the mailbox in a new position in build mode?  Just a thought that the game might be tricked into recognising the box if you move it.
