Can't connect to Origin since downloading new patch
« on: September 16, 2012, 04:49:44 PM »
When I start up the game launcher, it cannot connect to Origin, or log me in. I can play the game as normal, but cannot log in, download my purchases, or anything. I've bought a couple of new decorative objects for my dynasty, but cannot install them (they have no functionality and are relatively small files).

It does not recognise my username or password, and will not send me to the correct page when I try to re-set the password.

I recently downloaded the new patch, and updated Origin at the same time - the problem seems to have occurred since then. Does anyone recognise this problem, and have any advice?

Hi DeLouche, sorry about your problem. It seems to me something went wrong doing patching and updating Origin at the same time. Have you tried to uninstall Origin en reinstall it? I am not the person to tell you exactly how to do that, but I think it is possible.
Problem? Don't panic! There is always a solution. You just have to find it  :D

Thanks Odie :) I actually tried to path up a few times unsuccessfully before updating origin and then patching up - so the processes actually happened consecutively rather than simultaneously...

It seems to be working ok now; a few other people have mentioned a similar problem, and it seems to be a question of rebooting until it works properly... frustrating and unsatisfying, but there doesn't seem to be a real fix right now...
