Types of familiars that can be used for a Witch

Has anyone used anything other than a cat for their witch's familiar? On SimsVIP a rodent was mentioned as well as a cat. I could have sworn I also read somewhere that a toad would work but I have not tested it.

Just curious, mainly because I wondered if a crow or any of the other small animals would also give the boost to spellcasting.

Any cat, or any small animal will give that boost.
