Ambitions Ghost Hunting Question - Hunting for spirits while travelling?

My sim has Level 10 Ghost Hunting with the eccentric trait.  At Level 10, I got this cool gizmo that lets you see where ALL spirits are in town.  While travelling (World Adventures), the gizmo is still available in my inventory and I can activate it and see the location of spirits in China, Egypt and France.  Problem is, though, my sim is "on vacation".  The other tools, the Scanner and the Banshee Banisher are unavailable.  I have to believe that the developers would not have spawned spirits in these worlds if there was no way to capture them.  So, do I quit being a ghost hunter, now that I've reached max level and strike out on my own to capture spirits to earn cash?  Does anyone know if I get to keep the tools in my inventory if I no longer practice that profession?

Well, I've waited for an answer and I've waited to see if there is an opportunity associated with catching the spirits in the other worlds.  So far, nothing

I looked again and my Banshee Banisher and Ghost Finder are not inventory items.  If I quit the profession, I'm sure I'll lose them.

There HAS to be some way around this.  I wish I knew what it was.

Hi Kiki and welcome to the Forum!

I haven't played Ghost Hunter myself, but I can suggest a way you can do some experimenting of your own without losing what you have.  Do a "Save As" and give the new game file a different name.  That way, you can try out these things and see what they do, but if you don't like the result, you'll still have the original file from the point where you started the changes.

Tossing the career lets you still see ghosts using your ghost finder, but you can no longer catch them.  I was kind of bummed out, I was hoping I could still catch them while working my sim on another career tract.   Gotta stay a hunter to catch them!
