Sim Not Leaving Work
« on: September 02, 2012, 09:46:15 PM »
So my Criminal Sim just got promoted from Level 3 to Level 4, and the work hours went from being in the daytime to being at night. I noticed that the Work tab said "missing work!!", even though it was not his work hours. He went to work in a fairly good mood, but I didn't notice that he never returned home, until I saw that his little photo was bright red!! Mood had completely tanked, tired, hungry, low hygeine, stressed. It was 10 am, work was supposed to end at 3 am. I'm guessing the game didn't send him home because he was not supposed to be there in the first place? Has anyone ever had this happen??

It seems to happen pretty much whenever I've been promoted after midnight.  I just try to remember to keep an eye on the clock and manually have the sim leave work.

I once had that happen to an Evil sim who was busted for her criminal activities at work. When work let out she didn’t show up and her portrait disappeared from the control panel. I couldn’t retrieve her, and I believe that ResetSim failed to work. Never saw that sim again.

“You ought to upgrade to Windows 7!”, they said. “It’ll help your games run so much better!”, they said. If I see them again, then they had better know how to stabilize an on-the-fritz copy of The Sims 3 that was working just fine on Windows XP.

There's a known bug with this career, it's a wednesday when they get the missing work thing and it's not even a day they should be working, i've noticed it with inactive sims too and because next work day is actually friday they don't leave till end of fridays shift. I usually reset the inactives if i notice them stuck in the criminal warehouse, other times i've used master controller to reset their motives and left them to see what happens, and sure enough they leave after fridays shift.

If it's my own sim I just send them home at what would have been the end of a shift, 1am I think it is.

Quote
There is an glitch on the level 3 Thug rank, in which a PC sim is required to go to work on Wednesday at 9pm on the 2nd week and thereafter even though they are not scheduled to work on that day. The PC sim will not get a notice to go to work until work has started. The player can also go down in performance and get demoted if they do not go to work on that day. In addition, the player will not go up in performance if they do go to work.

Yeah it's happened to me before.  It has the icon below of footprints when I activate my sim so I select the sim and it asks if I want to go where my sim is and I select yes and my sim is outside the building where he/she works.  I guess the taxi didn't come or it was a glitch.  Also, a similar glitch I've experienced is the time clock that tells you how long it is before your sim has to go to work and it would countdown to one day, then so many hours and it got to one hour but I didn't see a message that says a carpool will arrive for my sim in an hour so I let the hour go by then the one hour turns to one day or two days.   ???  It's so annoying.
