Bed-Ridden Sim
« on: October 21, 2009, 01:19:36 PM »
Hi,

I am still pretty new to Sims 3 and I am having some trouble with the first Sim I created.  I remodeled Lisa's house. At some point, Lisa got very get hungry and had to pee really bad before I could get the kitchen and bathroom finished.  Along with that, she smelled really bad and started to go stir crazy.

She will not get out of bed! Nothing I do will make her budge. Now, she is in starvation mode and pees herself very frequently.  Her next action is to "expire".  I do not know what to do to get her moving.  Please help!!!

Do you mean she has never left the bed after this remodelling?
If so I think you've walled her in or put something in front of the bed so she can't get out. Try moving stuff or making a hole in the wall.

I don't know if this will help you or not, but here's what I have:

I too remodeled because my Sims had another set of twins. Had to create an upstairs. I noticed that when I did auto floors upstairs, then went to third floor view to look at the roof, the wall I created somehow made an x near the middle of the room. The floor extended outside the wall I created, and was sticking out from under the roof. I'm wondering if that is maybe the problem? Maybe there is some blockage next to the bed on that side that is preventing her from moving?

The only thing I can think of is try going to build mode and check the floor next to the side of the bed she is on and make sure there is no half wall there - that's what happened to me, but luckily the bed was on the other side of the room.

I don't know if this helps but thought I would give a stab at it!!  ;)
I will love him and squeeze him and pet him and call him George!!

kkjordan78,

Try resetting your Sim.  To do this, go into cheat mode by pressing alt shift C at the same time.  This opens the cheat console.  Type in the phrase "resetSim Firstname Lastname" and press Enter.  Of course, substitute your Sim's name in the phrase, but type all of it exactly as you see here with the capital letters as shown.  This should pop her out of the bed and get her back to normal.  Please let us know if it works.

PJSim was right.  I had her blocked by the wall. :-[  Unfortunately, as soon as I removed the wall, she got out of the bed and collapsed.  She died of starvation.  Her son and husband are now acquaintances of the Grim Reaper.

Thank you all for your help.  This is a great site that I have now bookmarked.

I'm glad you found out what the problem was, but sad that it was too late for your Sim.  Kudos to PJSim for having such a good answer!
