About twallan's StoryProgression
« on: August 11, 2012, 05:53:33 AM »
I posted here because I'm not sure how rapid a response I'll get on twallan's site.  I started using StoryProgression a couple of days ago, and I love it.  However, one thing I've noticed is that my child is being forced onto the school bus, and I can't cancel it.  It makes him wake up, it makes him miss showers and things that I squeezed in at the last minute.  I generally try to time it so he's getting on the bus at 10-15 minutes to 9.  Usually it means I have to cancel the initial bus push, and click 'Go to School' after I've queued up the right stuff.  But now I can't.  Unfortunately, I'm not sure which part of SP is the cause.  If anyone has input, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I've noticed another problem with the same Sim.  He's signed up for after-school Scouting, but now he doesn't go.  I made sure it was the right day.  It's just after 3, and he's coming home.  I'm not sure what's going on here, but it didn't start happening until I installed SP.

The after school activity bug is caused by your sim being stuck in a Field Trip situation. You can use Overwatch to clean that up. Click on the City hall and go to NRaas > Overwatch > Immediate > Clean Up Situation.

I've never heard of or experienced the other problem, and doubt it is related to SP but I really don't know.

I don't think the school bus problem is necessarily related to Twallan's mod.  It happens to my Sims sometimes and I run a mod-free game.  It doesn't happen every day, but there have been times when I couldn't cancel the bus to get my Sim to do something before leaving for school.  It could be a bug in the game or maybe EA changed the programming for some reason known only to them.

It's never happened to me before I installed SP, but now it happens every time the bus comes.  It also forcibly stops him from eating, even if his plate isn't cleaned.  If it isn't SP causing it, then it's rather odd timing.

Hopefully someone will come by who knows something about Twallan's mod.  I just know that this same thing happens to me and I have no mods installed at all.

Well, I installed Overwatch and MC as well, so we'll see the next morning whether the bus is forced or not.

Edit: Turns out, that must have been the problem.  I cleared a situation with Overwatch on that sim, and the next morning, he wasn't forced from bed for the bus, and I was able to cancel the action.  Seems the problem has been solved.  Thanks all.

It was probably the Field Trip Situation forcing the sim to try to get to school on time so it didn't miss the Field Trip.
