I’m having strange happenings at some of my apartment skyscrapers – Anyone have a clue why? (Legitimate gameplay, or a sign that my game is heading for a meltdown?)
1) Sims are leaving books out front on the ground. A lot of books. Usually, at least one a day. In one building it was a dozen copies of “Serving Without Being Served” (or something like that, I can’t remember). At the building I’ve been playing most recently, it seems to be a wide variety of titles (and not as frequently). They are all unusual titles – no skill or common books. I love free books as much as the next gal – kind of tickled, actually, that they keep appearing like the book fairy left them for me – but it seems like a sign of something not right with my game. I thought it might be a problem with my mailbox being blocked or something and the mail carrier not being able to deliver book club stuff for someone else in the building, but no – other items get mailed just fine and the Sims can use the box just fine. Although I now have nraas mods installed, this was happening long before I added them. Ideas?
2) In the building I’m playing this week, I keep finding two Mixologists outside my door in the elevator lobby (on the mmm-teenth floor), stomping their feet and swearing that something (I assume my apartment door) is blocking their way. For hours and hours. I tried having my Sim deal with them, but while it was an option to greet and talk with them, I was not given the choice to invite them in or tell them to go away. I was afraid they were stuck the first time I found them and didn’t want them to die so reset them and it did send them away. But then, a few days later, they were back and frustrated/stomping again… I left them there that time and after about 24 Sim hours, they finally went home on their own... Only to return again. I do have a professional bar in my penthouse, but it’s a private residence and there are no stalker-mixologists at any of my other houses that have them. I’m pretty sure my Sims haven’t called for them – and even if they did do that when my back was turned, wouldn’t they come in and/or have a “dismiss” option? And I checked to make absolutely sure that there wasn’t a “public room” marker in the interior room in which the bar resides, and there wasn’t that I could see. How do I stop them from stalking me and blocking up my tiny floor lobby?
On the assumption that these will turn out to be bugs, I am posting in this forum - move if you think there is a better place.
