Freckles and Beauty marks

Why don't freckles and beauty marks pass down to children ? Has anyone ever had it pass down and if so how long did it last, generation wise?

Also, other than a few original townies, can other sims (NPC's, foreigners, etc) have freckles and beauty marks?

Freckles and beauty marks do not pass down to children unfortunately. They can be added to new sims in CAS, or you can use the edit-in-cas cheat to add them to sims already made. When I want them passed down, I edit the children in cas when they are old enough to give them the freckles/beauty marks.

There have been claims that freckles can be passed down to children, but it wasn't really proven to my satisfaction.
