thanks and good luck to you too.  How many constitutes a full set?  Sounds like quite a job.

I thought you might like to see the collection I did during my Dreamweaver Immortal Dynasty.  I didn't get everything, but I got a lot!  Click here.

that is absolutely amazing and stunning.  I collect minerals in real life and I have a very nice collection in glass display cases with lights.  I love looking at them.  Mother Nature never ceases to amaze me.

I'm afraid I don't know anything about the dynasties.  Are you using the 'display case by blingbling' ?  I've got one of each mineral and gem in my sims family shared inventory in build/buy.  I don't have the space on his lot to keep them all out.  How did you manage it.  I originally started to have each of the cuts for each of the gems, but I quickly abandoned that because it just filled my inventory with to much stuff.  But it looks just wonderful in your shots.

Well in this case, I just want to get a skull cut for every gem.

Yes, that's the display I'm using in those pictures.  One way to get around the inventory thing is to purchase a chest at one of the vacation locations in World Adventures.  It can be found at the General Merchant store.  It will hold pretty much an infinite number of items and it's fantastic for storing things.

As for the dynasty thing, we have two challenges written by Metropolis Man that we call Dynasty Challenges.  The one I linked for you to see the gems is the Immortal Dynasty Challenge.  A lot of our members like to play it and write a story about it, which is what I as doing in the linked topic.

Pam did fantastic job there as she did it without a single cheat involved! I have my own full gem collection shared here which includes 25 different gems in 13 different cuts, all large but I used cheates for motives and exit without save which is not allowed in Dynasties. In this topic our member EnglishRose shared a wonderful way of displaying gems on shelfs, while I like to place them on ground with moveobjects on and with holding Alt - that way you can put them on piles anyway you want.
I used my own small ugly and empty island that is good for fast loading and testing purposes, while there are quite a lot of small custom made worlds around the community. Still if your PC is fast enough and you like to play with your Sims while getting this collection then stick with your current neighborhood.

thanks for all the pics.  They are beautiful.  Pam, I do have one of the chests.  Didn't know I could put stuff in it.  It's just been a decoration.  My sim's house doesn't have a basement and so displaying them would not be possible.  What I might do is store them and switch a few every now & then (kinda like my own brick-a-brack).  I like many of the cuts.  So I think I'll go ahead and get all the cuts of all the gems.

I also had quite a few issues with the Carter's xl display.  Several times when my sim used it, he disappeared for a few seconds and then re-appeared in the front yard.  I exited without saving and had to repeat what I'd done.  That was involving the skull.  And the last time I used it, he lost his career.  Unemployed!!!  He's a singer and I don't have any venues in my town.  He just sings for tips.  So this time I replaced the sim (I had a current backup of him in the library).  So I had to make sure I got all the unemployed sims minerals out of his inventory so the new one would have them to work with.  I managed to get 2 supernovium at 6-8000 & 2 compendiums at 12 & 18000.  I think I'll quit while I'm ahead.  At least he's got the ores and most important the tiberium skull now.  I had a few really tense moments.  That case only worked properly twice out of 8 times and I replaced it 4 times.
