Furnished or Unfurnished Houses?
« on: August 14, 2012, 06:52:30 PM »
I'm going through my Sims 3 houses to see which ones I want to keep or delete and share.  I'm finding that I've got LOTS of unfurnished houses.

When sharing or looking for houses to download, which do you prefer - furnished or unfurnished?

I find when I do furnish houses I end up using a lot of my favorite furnishings, house to house to house *Snicker* So I think that's one of the reasons I end up more just building houses instead of furnishing them.

I myself don't mind either way. I just LOVE looking at houses!! :)

Furnished. They look better pre-furnished than when I furnish them.
The outside is quiet, but the inside is on full blast.

I prefer furnished because, that way, I can see how the creative process works it way through the interior of the house, not just the exterior.  If there's something I don't like, it's a simple matter to change it.  Not like the enormous creative chore that furnishing it from the start would be.

I love both actually but I find myself downloading a lot more of unfurnished houses than furnished ones. Unfurnished houses are much easier to adapt for the family yo want to live there! It takes me forever to adapt a furnished house, for instance if the house you downloaded had 2 female bedrooms and you need a male one or whatever. I know it's just redecorating but I find it reallu hard do re-make something someone else made and adjust my style to the other person's style.

But still, if a house is incredibly decorated or if it's not but I still love the house, I will download a pre-decorated one as well.

I generally prefer furnished. Any house I download is intended to be dropped into an empty lot for townies and/or the offspring of the household I am playing who are moving out. It just wouldn't be fair to send them to live in an empty building.

My active sims I tend to build for myself, and if I decide to go premade I can always chose to move in unfurnished.

Furnished, then I typically go through room by room and re-vamp the place if needed. I haven't met a pre-made kitchen yet that I've liked.

I prefer unfurnished houses for sims I'm playing, which I can then furnish myself. I'm bad at shells but I love to create those amazing gaudy rooms all in one color, which I think I've been learning from letting the kids play my Sims games. :P
