How do I upload saved (not exported) sims?

I always save my sims individually when I create a household. I can see the households in the library, but I can't see my individual sims. They are in the saved sims folder, but how do I get them into my library so I can upload them? Or start a new household with them? In the save sims folder they have are .sim files. I don't know what to do with them.

I would also like to mix them into a household. So instead of creating new sims, I want to combine several of my saved individual sims. Is that possible?

I think they'll be in the Sim Bin is CAS. In CAS, there is an icon with about six faces on it. Click it and you will enter the Sim Bin, where you can reuse the Sims.
