Can't save household to library
« on: August 06, 2012, 08:41:25 AM »
Hi there,
I have searched everywhere and cannot find a similarly posted question or answer.
I recently installed 3 expansion packs and am looking forward to importing my current Sunset Valley family into Bridgeport from the Late Night expansion pack.
Since the new installations, I have only played 1 of my 3 previous saved games, however the household for this game does not show up in the library.
The families from my previous 2 games that I have not yet played with the updates do show up in the library, without me taking any action to save the families to the library. But with the recent game, there is no option to save to the library!
To clarify, I can access the saved GAME, just not access the HOUSEHOLD in the library or the ability to save the household.
I looked into the files in my saved games folder and noticed a difference in the way files were saved. This may not be relevant as I know the new updates saves games in different formats to the older base game but it is the only difference I can see between the 3 games.
The 2 previously saved games that have the families that are visible in the library have only 2 files in my documents: a .sims3 and .backup file, however the latest game that I have been playing since the update with the issue in question is in a different format: it has two folders of .sims3 and .backup, and a separate file of .legacy.
So the folder looks like this:
Saves:
Sunset Valley OLD v1.sims3
Sunset Valley OLD v1.backup
Sunset Valley OLD v2.sims3
Sunset Valley OLD v2.backup

Sunset Valley NEW.sims3.legacy
Sunset Valley NEW.sims3.folder
Sunset Valley NEW.backup folder

Has anyone experienced this problem before?
I cannot post on the Sims website forum due to technical problems with my registration, so I have no idea who can help me!
