Ways to kill vampires?
« on: August 01, 2012, 05:04:29 PM »
My apologies to those who just love to play vampires.  I know this would be painful for you.  I personally absolutely hate vampires.  I therefor try my best to get rid of them.  Of course, once I have Supernatural this won't be an issue.  So I want to know who has tried to kill off or contain vampires in their towns, what methods were used and what success did you have?  Removing LN does not count since that's obvious.
What?  Grannies can't play games?

I don't don't have LN, but you could try throwing a all vamp party and build little square wall boxes around them. Then they die.

You could turn off story progression at the begining of a new game, then out side of Bridgeport, I don't think there wil be any vampires at start.  And without story progression, new vamps won't move into town, and no one will be turned.  Even if you kill them all off, story progession will eventually bring in more.

Throwing a party and inviting Vampires seems to be one of the best methods, keep them busy and away from a fridge and they may just die of thirst. I've had two at one party before, two sims aged up and then the first one died outside on the front steps, all of the Guests then created a traffic jam in an attempt to mourn the guy, then the other Vampire at the party was stuck and very thirsty...  ;)

Ah, Joria.  I couldn't help but giggle when I saw this thread.  I'm just curious about one thing.  Have you actually played a vampire in Sims 3 at all?

If you're not opposed to mods, Twallan's  Master Controller comes with a Force Kill interaction that could let you kill them on sight.

Play as a Dreamweaver and throw a party? ;D
Maybe you could use TestingCheats and delete them? I've heard rumors that this may lead to corruption though. Just remember that whatever method you choose, the game will repopulate the town with Vampires eventually.

Hmm, one way is to throw a party with the vampires and have the Sim who threw the party stand in a garden or outdoor area that is fenced up with a gate. They will come and greet you. Then exit the fenced-up "pen" and lock the gate. This would work for all Sims, but vampires' death will be expedited by the sun.

A method of peaceful containment, though slow and not very respecting of other Sims' free-will, is to free a Genie and use it to ensorcel Vampires. You can send them to the lab and buy the cure, though it will cost you 3,000 Simoleons a pop. (Though you can usually sell the stuff in their inventory to make up for that cost!)

They'll always come back, though, as the others have said.

Another solution, if you can still deal with your vampires for a few weeks, is to wait for the patch scheduled with Supernaturals release at the beginning of September. Then you'll have the option to prevent the vampire population from being monitored by Story progression. This means no vampire created at the start of a new save or, for existing save, no additional vampires created to maintain a preset number in the population. So, once the existing ones die (whatever the cause), no new vampire will ever be created.

So... Joria, have you ever seen that picture, you know, the picture on the thread where carl asks what the most devious things your sims have done is?  It has a picture of him fencing in some sims and then lighting them, if you know what I mean.  That's what you could do with the vampires, you could just get to know all the vampires in town, use the moveobjects on cheat to drag them into a little box, that has a furnace in it, the cheap one, it would be better if you could fit as many in there as you can without there being major pathing issues, don't be stingy with the rugs either. ;)  Then use moveobjects on to drag your sim in there, cause a fire in all of the boxes,(how many that you have depends on how long it's been since you did your last "vampire cleanining") Then do the cheat that allows you to build when there's a fire, and move your sim out so she/he doesn't die with the vampires, if it doesn't work the first time, do it again, it's pretty fun to watch.

P.S:if your sim lives in an apartment, it wouldn't be the best idea to do this stragey, especially if your house has a lot of rugs.
