Can't see Child

My child Chip just aged up from baby to toddler. Right after I picked out his clothes he became invisible and I can only see his shadow. Can anybody help?

1. Have you tried going into edit mode and back to live mode to see if it goes back to showing your child sim?
2. Also try viewing a different area of the map then going back to the area your sims is in and see if that works.

If they don't work you could either go back to a previous save if you have one or maybe try moving house and see if that works?

As a last resort you could try enabling the cheats and resetting the sim if that option is in the cheats, ive never used them yet so wouldn't know. But be warned enabling cheats disables trophy & achievements progression so save the game on a new save file first.

Xbox or PS3? I had the same thing happening when my adult sim changed into an elder. When I let her access the create-a-sim mode through a mirror and changed some things (her hairstyle), she was fine again.

As a last ditch effort: how about using Karma to change your sim into a pet (and back again) or possibly a ghost (and then feed Ambrosia). Perhaps forcing the game to render your sim in a different way will fix it? I'm just not sure these powers will work on a childsim, though you could make him eat a birthdaycake first.
