Create A World Error - Reinstall did not help?

So after like five minutes in Create a World, it crashes. For no apparent reason it just does. I get this message:



Does anyone know what this could mean? I've uninstalled and reinstalled CAW, it was working fine before my reinstall of all my Sims games but I don't see how that would affect this. Is anyone else getting this? I've tried a new World and an old World but still nothing.

That's been the case for me for MONTHS, I haven't found a solution yet.  Hopefully someone knows.  Before that began, however, I was having the same problem Neashaleigh is having with the .png files not being recognized.

I've only just got it, that's a real pain then if you say you've had it for months with no fix.  Maybe sometime in the future they'll get around to making the real version and not giving us this Beta thing. Does anyone know if the Modded version works okay?

Gutted If you've patched up your game, have you tried re-downloading the most recent version of the CAW tool?

Thomas, you have that error when starting new world??
I used to have that error if I don't copy all the files related to the world I am trying to run. Besides being fully patched, having the latest version of CAW, you need to have both world files and folder containing layers etc in the same place. Think I managed to copy them in Program Files/EA/CreateAWorld/UserTool/Worlds (not shore if that is the path but you'll see the blank maps of Sunset Valley and Riverview there too by default) after coping both files AND folder from My Documents saved worlds, try loading world from there.

Also, it may happen that your world files are corrupted and you might want to try backed up versions created automaticaly when saving, or the one you saved yourself under different name.

Hope some of these will help.

I managed to work out that the problem only occurred for Large World Maps, so that is all my WIP's out the window. It happens for new Worlds as well.

To make things even worse now I have an issue where it won't even let me Open a World or start a new one. I haven't tried a reinstall for this new problem but there was no prompt over compatibility.
