Freezing while saving

recently my game freezes whenever i try and save it, it happens all the time whether i've been playing a few minutes or hours.

Anyone else had this problem? or know how to fix it?

Are you playing Pets or the Normal Sims 3?

Not heard of any save problems for Pets but there was known problems for the Base game (The Sims 3) when saving. The Patch was supposed to fix it so if you haven't patched your game do so.

Have you tried creating a new save instead of saving over the same save file?
Maybe try creating a new game and see if that saves? There was known problems that when you got so far into the game it caused the save glitch problem, something like over 25 weeks I think. Theres plenty of info if you google sims 3 save glitch / freezes.

Ive read playing whilst not being connected to the internet on either the xbox or ps3 can improve gameplay and avoid possible glitches but not sure though I always played offline anyway and only signed in on the ps3 when I used the exchange in game.

I'm playing the normal Sims 3, yea i've googled it and a few people are having the same problem, i've tried saving it to a new save slot but it doesnt help, i'm gunna make a new family today and see if that does anything.

not sure how many weeks i've got to, but i'm on my second generation of Sims.

Also i'm not sure what you mean by patching my Sims, is that just me?

Are you using saving and quitting at the same time? I always save first, then quit without saving. Try that.

no, i'm not saving and quitting at the same time, its worked fine beore, and with a new Sims game is saves as normal, its just on the first game where i've almost met the '50 days happiness' task that it won't save anymore.

I also can't find any patches for the Wii, but plenty for PC and Xbox etc

If you haven't downloaded the patch then connect your console to the net and then put the game in.

I encountered this problem a few times even with the patch.  It seems like my game got too bogged down and simply couldn't save anymore.  The only thing I could think of was to save my Sims to My Studio and start a new game with them, and meanwhile lost all their progress in skills and careers.
