How do you use pose (not pose player)

My sim has gained some photography skill and she has the option to ask a sim to pose which is lots of fun. But I can't figure out how to photograph them? I click on the camera in her inventory and bring up the camera screen but can't even see the posing sim. I'm stumped.

You ask the Sim to pose, then click on the camera in your inventory, as you've already done.  When the camera screen opens up, you have to use the mouse to move it around and find what you want to photograph.  It's a good idea to pause the game until you get some practice in finding what you're looking for.  When you get something lined up in the camera, it will show you a name for what you're going to photograph.  With a posing Sim, for example, it will say something that describes that Sim.  If you haven't already, take a look at Carl's Guide for photography, too.

I find that it makes it easier if you position your sim specifically. Your sim may not be facing the right way so check, if he or she isn't walk back (in the direction away from your subject) then walk back to were you started from. Your sim can't walk around when you are in camera mode, the controls are like tab.
