The opportunity popping up was never in question, Leto. That HAS already popped up for me. It's completing the opportunity that seems to be bugged for some players because there's no Simbot option under Big Inventions even if all resources are in inventory.

Than I've must have missread that. Still also that works for me too, and without a problem actually. He made his invention after collecting all the stuff he need and he just finished it without trouble, without complaining.
If he is able to made another one I am not sure, haven't needed that so didn't tried it.

The option is missing. THIS IS A NEW BUG. I'm fed up with EA recent bugs, it's just annoying.

Welcome to our Forum, cevilization.  This bug is in Bridgeport only.  Players who are doing the Master Invention are able to create the SimBot just fine in the other towns.

We all understand your frustration, but this Forum does have a rule against EA bashing.  Please be careful about how far you go in expressing your feelings on the subject.

Hi Guys,

I am new to Sims but I found this problem this week in Bridgeport and found there is a solution.  There are three ways to go about fixing this issue;

  • Acquire a holiday home in another country and put an inventors workbench in there and try from there. I have not tried this so I cannot tell you if it works but I can't see why not.
  • Get this mod listed on ModtheSims that was designed especially to overcome this issue in Bridgeport.
  • Try updating the GameplayData.Package file yourself by replacing the line that says;
Code: [Select]
<World RestrictionType="Allow" Types="Base" Names=""/>
With

Code: [Select]
<World RestrictionType="Disallow" Types="Vacation" Names=""/>
I know this works as I have tried it.  The mod does the exact same thing and works as well.

Cheers

…Try updating the GameplayData.Package file yourself…
How to do that, exactly? Those *.package files slice up Notepad and feed them to their dogs.

*facepalm*
Stupid me. The easiest solutions are always harder for me to find. I’ll go see if I still have that editor installed.

“You ought to upgrade to Windows 7!”, they said. “It’ll help your games run so much better!”, they said. If I see them again, then they had better know how to stabilize an on-the-fritz copy of The Sims 3 that was working just fine on Windows XP.
