Do you ever have an actual audience at a gig?
« on: June 07, 2012, 04:27:56 PM »
I've been playing a 4-member band household for a bit, and in the 5 or so shows they put on, there hasn't been even a single Sim in the bar aside from the mixologists. They still get told it was a great show, but I do find it a bit depressing. Of course, it doesn't help that most gigs were scheduled for 12am, which during the weekday means just about everyone is at work.  ::) Even during the one 8pm gig, the whole town decided to spend the evening elsewhere (the bar wasn't a hotspot). Jamming is decent enough, but it does get old, so I do wish I'd get gig offers a bit more regularly -- and that anyone would actually show up for them.

So, have your bands had proper audiences? Do Sims watching a gig have any special reactions or is it just the usual tap your foot or dance with a buddy routine?

I have never had a band play gigs but my singer and acrobat have audiences. They may have different animations and reactions to those who go watch a band perform.

I think the singer and acrobat shows are at special locations where an audience is spawned for a gig.   As for a band gig, I don't think you can make people do it.  However, there is an interaction where you can enthuse about an upcoming show.  I can't remember if it was a Late Night or a Showtime thing.  It may be a showtime thing.

You could always throw a party at the place you have a gig and not make it exclusive.  At least then you know your guests will show.

Hm, that's an idea. I'll try that the next time they get one that's not set during normal work hours (if they ever do, been over a week since the last call).

Haven't played a band since Showtime; but, before I often had people at my gigs. It may depend on the town your playing. In Bridgeport everyone hangs out at the bars and clubs.

Well, most of my 'audience' was busy drinking, playing or interacting with each other, but I got some cool dudes dancing (with each other) and cheering. Mainly just cheering.
