Singley here.  I'm new to the forum and I am interested in purchasing a new computer that will aide in better game-play for Sims 3.. I would to download Union Cove but my Hp Pavilion dv7-1245dx Entertainment Notebook has trouble with loading Sunset Valley.  I have to end all processes in order to get smooth game play. I going to buy a computer and I would like to be able play Sims 3 as detailed as possible.  I would like to play for five hours at a time and I would love it if my game would not freeze.

What type of computers do you guys have and could you guys leave me with recommendations?

If you really want to go into detail about my laptop...

My laptop is a Gateway NV77H19u.

It's specs:
Intel Core i5-2430M (2.4GHz, up to 3GHz with Turbo Boost)
Intel HD Graphics 3000
500 GB HDD (really 450GB)
4GB 1333MHz DDR3 RAM
17.3" 16:9 HD+ LED LCD *up to 1600x900 resolution*

It runs The Sims 3 Pets very fine, and I have all of the Stuff and EPs excluding Showtime and KPST *Katy Perry Sweet Treats, or what I think it is*
Recommendations depend on what EPs you have.
I heard the Pets EP has higher recommendations than the vanilla game.

Also, if your computer is having trouble playing TS3, have you tried deleting the cache files?

You can find more information about it in the Technical Help stickies. They're really useful.

Hi Singley, welcome to the forum.  I'm sure you'll enjoy your time here. There's LOTS of information as well as fun things to download.

Awhile back someone asked about computer specs. My Hubby, Flynn Arrowstarr wrote a long winded *Smile* post about what to look for in a computer to run Sims 3 well.

Here's the link to that thread, if you want to read it over.

I hope this helps, :)
