Video Chip card Question

Hello everyone My sims 3 keeps crashing because my video card apparently is not up to par. I have a GEForce 6200, I was wondering if a ZOTAC GeForce 8400 GS would work? since it is a cheaper video card and I don't have that much money to be spending on a video card.

I don't know how much you have to spend, but I don't think I have heard of that kind before.  I have an Nvidia Gforce 430.  It was around 70.00.  The cards seem to be getting less expensive.
