Hole in roof help
« on: June 09, 2012, 12:56:07 PM »
I am ticked off at myself, I typed it all up ready to send and hit some button, don't know which one and sent myself elsewhere on the site.

Okay, try to redo, but not give as much description that I thought would help.  Moved sim couple to a new house; did some changes (horrible, horrible kitchen).  Moved kitchen to front of house, which I had extended to give more room, and in the middle created the family room area.  Behind that the entrance to the deck.

I made changes in another area, the bathroom and one of the bedrooms, added at the end of the house two small bathrooms.  That ended the first changes, after a trip to China I had more funds, I started some more remodeling.

The familyroom area is too small; I wanted to keep the fireplace and the chairs in front but had traffic problems from kitchen to deck.

Added an insert where the firplace was at, taking up half of the porch which gave some room.  Added acoss another insert for the tv and a book case to fit into.
This allowed easy traffic area, no more getting in each others way.

This was no where near the kitchen, I had moved the table in a different position, but nothing else.  But when I was finished, I could see sunlight coming in the area of the cabinets and stove.    Took the roof off and there was a row, four long of tiles for the roof missing from what I think of as a grid.

What do I do?  I can't have a hole in my roof.  If it can be made into a skylight that would be nice but I don't think that is possible.
I haven't used any cheats, except at the start to give my sims enough money to live on at the start of the game.  They had a rich uncle who left them a gift  ;D

That happens to me alot. Tearing down the roof and replacing it helps sometimes.

I had this happen to me once and made a post about it here. There was a few suggestions made there that you might try.

Could you post a screenshot if you haven't resolved it yet?

Twinmum, I haven't done anything to it yet, and I will take the screen shot, but not sure how to post it here.

grimsoul, I will check out what you have.  I  did a search here, but didn't seem to find an answer, but it is easy to miss with so much available.

I will take the screen shot, but not sure how to post it here.

First it needs to be hosted somewhere like the gallery here of something like PhotoBucket, or even Facebook. Once it is hosted, you copy the URL then click the insert image button (first button on the second row above the smilies) then paste the URL between the two image tags.

It will be a few days before I can do anything and post it.  I sorta, kinda, accidently took too much of one of my meds and so am dealing with the side effects.   :(   >:(   Not anything major, thankfully, it was caught before any real damage could happen; just really, really frustrating.

Back to my hole in the ceiling, I will take some pictures and post them as soon as I can.
