Buying relics

Hello Folks:

I just sent two of my Sims to China.   They went to the relic shop and I can't make either of them browse what's in the store.   The action just gets cancelled.

My guy  needs to buy/find two of them for his work.    I'm not real comfy with tomb raiding and this is the first time I have ever sent anyone on vacation.     What do I have to do to see what relics they have?    Do I have to have ancient coins...is there a cheat to get some of those?   I just want the guy to advance in his career, nothing fancy.

Click on the cash register, and select buy.  You don't need ancient coins for the relic merchant.

The Browse option on the register just tells you what that store sells in general.  The Buy option will show you the details, prices, and let you purchase.

You can find relics without having to raid tombs, I have yet to go to a tomb, although I am planning in doing so later, and I find lots of relics.  As I travel to a specific location, such as find mercury, along the way I tilt my screen as if my sim is standing on his head.  You can see better through the trees to spot more gems, rocks and sites to excuvate. 
At the base camp, in China, take all the books the first time there and you can make a lot of money from selling them "back home". 
It't a good way to get some extra money, generally never come home with less than 7,000.  When you accept an adventure to find metals or gems, you are shown their locations and as you go to collect them you find lots of other goodies.
