For some reason s3pe looks a little bit easier to understand to me. I'm having a go at merging some files now. I've read that the game imposes a 200Mb limit on its own dbc files, but there is no actual limit on how big it can be. Other than how long it takes for s3pe to load everything, is there any drawback to making one very large .package file (just over 1Gb)? I have 716 files, which I could divide into a rather uneven 34 separate merges (by month) instead of 1 big one?

The only limitation would be whether your computer has enough RAM to process merging that whole file in one go. Merging 1GB worth of files will take a considerable amount of time, so you'll want to just let s3pe run, even if it says "Not Responding."

Feel free to ask me any questions regarding CCM, as well.

Yup. It's taking a looong time. But I'm happy to let it run. I think I've got 6 or 8GB of RAM so I'm not lacking for RAM, and a quad-core processor. The only thing I'm lacking is a faster HDD. I can get a faster one for the normal type, but I'm thinking of getting a solid state one later on. Once it's done, it's done, and I'll only need to add to it monthly, or thereabouts.

And of course, once it's done I can sort out my saved library files and such. I'm keeping a master copy of all my files this time, and hopefully will be able to eliminate a LOT of duplicate files.

I love my SSD. I'm even excited for you to possibly get one, haha. They're are so amazing, especially for Sims game, as there's a lot of loading to do with the Sims. In fact, I'd love a second SSD, but can't really justify spending money on a second one right now. It's too bad since there was a sale over here this weekend and they were 99€ for 128GB, which is pretty cheap over here.

I need some urgent help with package files. I accidently associated Notepad to be the default program to open package files and did not wish to do so.
Now they always want to open with Notepad. What is the default program I should change it back to? I feel so silly. Thank you to anyone who can render assistance!

Associate it with whatever program you use the most. If you use s3pe, associate it with that. You can shift+right click one and then choose 'open with...' You will have a list of programs to chose from.
