Can a party be cancelled?
« on: March 11, 2012, 02:49:30 PM »
It is my sim's birthday and I set up to have a party.  I picked the beach as I thought it would be a nice place to party; call and order pizzas to be sent and let everyone have a great time.  She doesn't know a lot of people, around 10 accquantices.

But, it seems that I can't order pizza and she can't really cook very well, she is my combindation of author and artist.  She is doing great in those two, but I didn't pay any attention in doing much cooking.   She has gone collecting to fulfull the outdoors trait, chatting on computer for social, along with hacking for fun and extra simleons (I think that is what cash is called).  There has been an occasionaly outing to the park and once to the pool where there seems  to be few people there; no friends, but several accquantices.

Anywhose, I'd hate for her to throw a party and it flop.  She is at the stage where she can start to find time to become romantically involved.  Or at least have a friend, male or female.

I don't think there is a way to cancel. But don't worry, a party can be a success without food, too. Actually, I rarely (or never) bring any food to parties (or cook if held at home), and I still get good/great parties. Just make sure to talk to everyone, and you can bring a small stereo for music and dancing.

Even if the party does flop, I don't think it will affect any relationships negatively. If the party is a success, your sim gets a + moodlet for a while, and if it's a disaster, there'll be a negative moodlet. Ofcourse, it might feel like a waste of time if you wanted to make the most of it.

But even if you are not fully prepared, I encourage having the party. It's a great way to meet new sims. Usually there will be some uninvited guests so your sim can make all new acquintances. Maybe the love of her life? ;)

If there is a grill then cook hot dogs. People rarely burn them. Get there early to cook. Be sure your host mingles with everyone to make the party a success. One good way is to dance and ask everyone to join. they talk while dancing.

Oh, I've had plenty of Sims burn hot dogs, especially the ones who aren't natural cooks.  ;D

Yeah, you can definitely burn hotdogs. In fact, going on experience, you can actually have a house fire and kill your guests... Funny thing was, one guy said it was a brilliant party :S

My sim never burned her hotdogs. Guess she was lucky.

Also, you can always order pizza and put it in your inventory and then take it out at the party.  That is always good too. :)

My first sim (in the first Sims game I ever played) had a birthday party at the beach. I didn't know much about the game and my sim didn't really know anyone. I didn't have any food prepared or anything. I just invited everybody in my sim's contact list. Well, the party was a success! Just make sure and talk to everyone; that's what I did.
