How can I fix my resolution? Bottom and top part of screens are cut off.

I tried changing my screen resolution to 800x600 which is the games current resolution but that didn't help. The game starts in full screen mode and the top part and bottom part, where the check would usually be, is cut off. 

What e;se can I do to solve this?

Have you tried changing your screen to a larger resolution and then putting your game in windowed mode?
