Automatic job after aging up to YA?

Okay, I had a weird thing happen to me recently. When my sim aged up to young adult, he automatically had a job. It was a part time one at the bookstore, I think.  A little background info: my sim was basically neglected through his infant/toddler years (make needs static, yay), he never went to school in his child/teenage years, and I didn't use any cheats to age him up, just the birthday cake.

I was just wondering if this has happened to anyone else. Or if this  just happens to latchkey sims xD

Never had it happen. Was he still your active family at the time? When you switch households story progression takes ove and may have pushed him into the job.

Yep, he was still part of my active household. It was really weird.
