Good for me the problem fixt itself after Pyro grows up to be a teenager. It turns out that children can't put things on fire (which make the game a bit less realistic :P) but teenagers can.
Only on my own lot, which is a bit pitty because that is probably the last lot where I ever would try it, but still, it is good that it is possible.

To bad nobody could answer your last question Swede. But I will let this topic open, for in case someone else can answer it. After that, it can be locked, I think.

Sorry Swede.  I missed your question.  In my experience, it's 100% inheritance.  Every descendent has the hidden trait.  At least that's the case for the Salute.
