Invite Sim over problem

Hi everyone, I'm Metro's wife and I'm having a bizarre problem with my Sekemoto family game...

My character has a girlfriend. Previously there were no problems with inviting her over. Now, when I invite her over, she initially says, "Sure I'll be right over." After I accept that, it says "something suddenly came up..I can't make it." This happens no matter what day or time I invite her over.

I even tried getting another romantic interest and the same thing happens.

Any thoughts?

A couple of us have already discussed this in another thread.  In my experience, it's happened because the other Sim was at work or busy with something else.  They wanted to come over, but were genuinely unable to do so because they had a real job.  An unemployed Sim can come over pretty much every time, but one with a full time job can be difficult to catch.  Some jobs have nighttime hours, too, so your Sim may be on the opposite schedule.  I was eventually able to get them together and got them married as quick as I could.  It was after the marriage that I realized that they had traits in common and that their schedules were opposite.

Anyway, I agree with Pam, I've had a similar problem when playing a kleptomaniac sim. I had to get the sim invited in so he could steal their stuff and sometimes it seemed almost impossible to catch the darn sims at home!
At night (after midnight) you can't get to them, in the daytime they're at work and in the evening as soon as they're home from work they will leave again to go to the movies or visit other sims or whatever...
There seems to be a really short window for when you can get hold of them sometimes. Maybe she's at the movies with another guy? Or maybe she got a promotion and she's working more.

I think in Map View if you know any sims in a house you can see who's actually at the house, maybe you can find her that way and see what she's up to?

And one more thing...  if they just don't want to come over, they'll say so.  If they accept and then have to back out, at least they have the desire to come over, which is good because there's at least some interest.
