Can't save to library
« on: March 12, 2014, 06:34:56 AM »
Hi,

We have played a legacy game now for a few years, but my son has decided to play in another world, (monte vista, where we live) but we can't save our family or house to the library.

Things we have tried, splitting family, evicting family, porter mod, google, everything basically. please can someone help. it always just crashes to desktop.

We have windows 7 home edition with 4GB RAM on a laptop with nearly all EP's installed.

Hi Nimble,

Can you give us more information on your computer? It will help us find if your computer is able to run Sims 3 and expansions and any stuff packs you may have.

In the meantime, you can read over this link that gives some helpful tips on game crashes.

I hope this helps, :)

Try to adjust the screen setting to the lowest level. This may help especially you're going to save a lot in large size.
One more thing, evict your family and save it first. Then save the lot only.
Now I realize playing the Sims 3 on Mac is playing the game of installation and uninstallation...

Thank you both for replying.
Unfortunately the problem still exists. I think it is perhaps my laptop and memory, windows 7 64bit with 4gb of ram.
Perhaps I could try the traveler mod, but will I lose everything in my sims inventories or lose relationship? Also I presume the family can't travel with the lot, or pets. Is that correct?
I thank you again for trying to help.

Hi Nimble,

I am unfamiliar with Nraas's Traveler mod. However, I might have a tip or two that might help.

- Try Resetting the whole town, in Edit Town mode - Press Shift-Ctrl-C keys together to bring up cheat console and then type in resetsim *

- Try running the game without custom content. Just to test to see if it helps. -- Opening the launcher, click the Installed Content Tab. Checkmark Run Game Without Custom Content. Then click the Play button.

If the above tips don't help, please give us some more details on your computer. It would really help us be able to help you better. :)
