Question about locking doors..??

OK well, this is going to sound super dumb but...

How do you do it?

Did the option to lock doors come with a patch or an EP? Because I'm all patched up, but I just got the game and I'm playing vanilla (I'm getting LN soon though).

Um and, if this is in the wrong section, sorry, I'm not sure how posting stuff works yet!

We've always had the ability to lock doors. In game, just click on the door and you should have the option to either lock it or set it as the front door. When you lock it, you can choose to lock it to everyone except the residents or even to lock it for certain people.

Thanks Twinmum, but weirdly, when I click on the door I only have the option to set/unset as front door. It's so frustrating when party guests go into rooms to watch TV or play computer games when my sims are trying to sleep!

Edit: I'm not sure what I was doing wrong but I tried it again and it worked! How weird. I could've sworn the option wasn't there a minute ago. haha anyway thanks again

Oh, did you try right clicking it? I haven't got my game running at the moment (just having my morning coffee lol) so I can't check it. It's funny how you do these things automatically, but when it comes to saying how, you can't recall.

Only internal doors can be locked; external doors can only be set as front door.

(At least, in my experience!)

Edit: Also, gates can be locked, regardless of if they are internal or external.
