A completely new beginning for Mortimer, this new Goth Manor is almost nothing like the old Goth Manor. But within the new streamlined design, Mortimer has held on to some of the family traditions and preferences.
Outside, the Goth family graveyard is still there -- Mortimer would never think of exhuming his dear departed relatives just to re-plant some flowers -- but new landscaping and a new modern fountain make it a lovely place to relax and remeber. An updated fire pit will keep the traditions of family marshmallow roasts and ghost stories alive, while a new bar and outdoor kitchen, as well as a curtained cabana with fireplace, will make the formerly outdated patio into a great party space for the younger generation. Mortimer has replaced the old solarium with a new indoor pool and hot tub, and turned the old flower patch into into a modern Zen space, but a flower-covered fountain recalls the colorful exuberance of his mother's old Victorian gardens.
The walls and foundation of the main house have the same exterior layout, but the style is completely modern. Bella's favorite color of red plays an important role in the decor, as does Mortimer's preferred black. The ground floor has touches of Asian influence to accent the modern lines, with gold walls adding warmth and light to the darker colors. The kitchen has all the modern conveniences (including a dishwasher, trashcompactor and self-cleaning stove sure to please a Neat Sim like Bella), plus juice bar, eat-at counter and a breakfast nook overlooking the back garden. The dining room seats 8 around a stylish glass table, while the living room offers plush seating, a stereo and bookshelves.
Moving upstairs, the bright central loft has sectional seating, a big screen TV, videogames and a chess set. Doors lead off to the upstairs sun deck, the guest bedroom, guest bath, office and master suite. The upstairs rooms, expecially the master bedroom, master bath and ambitious Mortimer's office are all modern interpretations of gothic decor.
Continuing upstairs, the artist's studio adjions a small kitchenette so that Mortimer can pursue his talents uninterrupted. The highest level has a small patio and telescope for watching the stars.
