How does a sim automatically move in to your home?
« on: March 13, 2013, 06:11:25 PM »
Hi,

Bear with me I am new and still trying to figure things out with the game.  What I can't understand is how does  a sim that you are chatting with automatically follow you home if you never asked for a roomate.  I can understand if you ask someone to move in.  Do you have to actually say goodbye first before you leave to go home from chatting or from a date? Also if I accepted an offer to move in as a roomate with another sim, what happens to my house and my household funds? I see that once a sim is living in your house you have complete control over them it seems like.  They would never leave the house on their own unless you actually go out with them.  What happens to their household that they came from and the other sims that they were living with previously?  It's very interesting.

Also is it possible to transfer funds to a new game or household?

How can I change the sound and pitch of my voice?

Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks again in advance. :)

Welcome to the Forum, Darstan!

First of all, the sim who follows you home from a date will leave around 3 am if you don't ask to end date earlier.

Your sim won't get asked to move in by other sims in the neighborhood, so you don't have to worry about that.

If you want to move within your neighborhood, click on the phone, then real estate, then move, and follow the pop-up instructions.

If you want to keep the same sims, but have them in a different game, there are a couple of ways to do that. If you want to keep funds, skills, and job level, go to the button you use for saving the game, and select the Edit option. Select your household and choose "evict". You'll be asked if you want to save them to the library, so choose yes. They will then be available when you start a new game.

As for the voice, I don't know whether you can change that once you've started. When you first create a Sim, you can set the voice in the personality section, the tab where you pick favorites.

Hope all this helps!
