Question on Tiberium
« on: April 21, 2012, 09:34:24 AM »
My sim found a piece of Tiberium and I placed it in the yard.  It started to shoot out green sparks which I wasn't expecting, but figured it meant it was growing.
It has been a couple of sim days now; how long do I let it grow, when do I know it has grown all it is going to?

Also, it was in rock form, but when I move my mouse over it, it states it is a spiral cut.  I didn't send it to be cut.  It looks as if it is just three crystals attached together.
I don't remember the original value price but now it is worth 31,671 simelons

If it's worth 31,000 simoleans now, then that's all it's going to get to.  So now you can sell it for the money.

That' s good to know, that I can sell it now, it is still spewing the green sparks (makes me think of a volcano the way the sparks shoot up and then fall down, except for the shape) so I wan't sure if I could sell it yet.

But, what about the cut, shouldn't I have been able to send it away and pick between a spiral or heart shape cut?

It seems to change into spiral cut by itself after it's been placed outside the inventory for some time. I guess this is the 'growing'.

However, I have noticed in my latest game that while the value and tooltip change (I think it says it's spiral cut in the tooltip text, like Janna mentioned) it still looks like the rock. Before, the looks used to change when it grew.
Also, I cut my tiberium into heart shape and placed it on a table. Next day it changed shape into a spiral cut!
So I'm curious if there is a way to make it stay in the heart form? I was hoping to build a gem collection of my own.

Tiberium almost always grows into a large spiral cut unless it glitches out.  The way to get a large heart cut is to use transfiguration.
