Sims' relationships and wishes disappear on launch

Sometimes when I load my saved games, but not every time, the following glitches happen:

1. The relationships of my active sims disappear. All the people they used to know do not show up in the relationships tab, and they have to make friends with an 'introduction' all over again. This even applies to relationships between sims in the same household.

2. I also lose all wishes from the wish slots (promised and unpromised). They just disappear.

It happens regardless of whether mods are installed or not, so I don't think it's related to that. It has only started happening after I installed my new expansion packs. I played base game + WA for ages without any trouble, but then I installed Ambitions, Late Night and Generations and now the glitch is happening all the time.

It's REALLY annoying as I like to play in legacy style with day-to-day wish management - so this glitch is totally unworkable for me. Any ideas?

Your file could be corrupted if you did the install after it's creation.  Sometimes it just happens with the introduction of new content.  Have you tried to see if it happens in a new game or is it only that file?   The installation of generations caused me to lose most of my files when it came out due to glitches.

Thanks for replying, Ricalynn. Unfortunately my game is a new one that I started after installing the new EPs, so that can't be it.

How did you fix your glitches with Generations? Maybe it would work for me too?

To add more information, I just did a Factory Reset but the problem remains.

My games were from before the installation and they were unrecoverable.  I had to get rid of them.

Have you tried to see if it's happening in a different file yet? Starting with a whole new sim or family from CAS.  This could make the difference between the file and the game being the issue.  If it's just the file, you may have to give up on that family or move them to a new town and hope that it doesn't happen again.

Do you have any custom content installed from anywhere? I had this exact same problem. It was tied back to something called Scribble Pad.

Ah hah! Solved it. It was part of a mod that was causing the problem, after all.

Sorry for confusing everyone with the question - I thought I'd tested the mods I was using before I asked everyone for advice but it turns out I hadn't tested them well enough.
