How to see what is on second floor
« on: April 27, 2012, 10:06:33 PM »
Is there a way to see what is on the second floor without climbing the stairs?  I am thinking of moving my family to a new home, four kids and plans for at least one more if not two.  Am running out of room and am thinking of getting a two story house.  I "bought" the house then exited without saving it to see what it was like inside.
I like the setup, four bedrooms and three baths upstairs, down stairs has a room that would be fine to make into another bedroom and the half bath is bigger than the full bath at the present home.

The only negative is that I don't like how I can't see one floor without having someone go up or down the stairs.

One floor plan it is easy to keep track of six people, to send everyone to get breakfast, then use the bathroom, shower and get ready for work/school.  Three kids seem to want to paint while waiting for bus, one heads for the pool and  dad is playing on computer or reading.

With a two story house, if everyone is downstairs, how can I see the second floor without having someone climb the stairs?

Page Up and Page Down on your keyboard allow you to move up and down, respectively, between the floors of a building, no sim necessary.   :)

If you need to look at the houses through live mode without having to follow a specific sim, you can click one of the 2 sections on the little house in the lower left-hand corner of the screen, and toggle between floors that way - it sounds like Page Up and Page Down is a quicker way to do the same thing though, I'll have to give that a try myself.

You can also go to edit town and look inside the houses without having to buy them if you're okay with leaving live mode.
