This forum mainly exists to help me improve it, but I decided I might as well let it be general because of how frustrated I've been with the official forum at times.
Exactly, why buy a game and then ignore 80% of it's gameplay and only build houses and create clothes?Sims 3 should be more like Sims 1. More about the gameplay than some fashion stuff.
Don't get me wrong, I thing there is some brilliant custom stuff out there on the world wide webs, but it's just not my stile 8)
I guess that's what makes this game so much fun....the versatility. There is no right or wrong way to play and you can choose to focus on whatever interests you. Whether it be the mechanics, meshing for fashion, computer coding, building...etc., there seems to be something for everyone! What I find most impressive about the game is its ability to pull us all together to discuss Sims...mighty powerful Lil pixel's.... :o ;D Who woulda thunk it, huh...go figure. ;DThere are the sims but where are the pets?
Oh, I forgot...Thanks EA for the game.....Thanks for the forum Carl. ;)
We'll get pets, of course, we just have to wait. It was this way for Sims 2 players when it first came out... I hope we get one like livin' large, but I expect it'll be in the form of the "stuff packs" now.It is another way for EA for milk money out of this franchise.
Caliban is not my real name (probably a good decision on my parent's part..)
this site was needed.Excellently stated, that's exactly what I thought when I first came here.
Thanks, igzig! I worked very very hard to come up with this unique and creative username. :DNice... :-\

Oooo, Welcome to all the new members! ;D Try some challenges they are fun!
Carl how many members before your baby is considered a toddler? :D
Happy Simming!
Boolprop forums is a very large and active Sims community. That was the first forum I ever joined related to Sims and I stuck around long enough that they made me a moderator, just over 3 years now. It is a good community, but very big.
i like sims 3 so much i even went backwards and even got sims 2 cause i wanted to play that one also!
because they are addicting and my mom got me in trouble because of my grades
Anyways there isn't anything really that special about me.
Well glad you did Kreathyr. It's up to number 20 nowadays :)

On google I was going to search carl sims 3 guide, but once I typed in "Car" your site was up under the suggestions; I am not certain if it was a one time thing or not however.
It's being bested by Carl's Steaks and shoes but seasoning is taking a beating.

You too? I keep waiting for servo to show up at my front door, but he never does.
So untill school goes back at the end of January, the 3 of us have to fight it out as to who gets the good computer! So I spend a lot of time at the moment reading forums on this computer lol
Fun fact: I am very likely to be the biggest Simpsons nerd in the history of humankind.
Another guy! Group hug with Carl!
Another guy! Group hug with Carl!
Well, Ivar is a guys name too isn't it. So there's another one to hug.
Ivar may be an unusual name even in Sweden, but I personally think it should be considered common knowledge that it's a guy's name! ;D
That little house of yours became more and more complicated for me...

I'd like to direct some folks to this thread:Are you referring to my posts? Feel free to tell me directly, I much prefer it that way. I can try to capitalize, but since my native language has totally different rules on that I can not guarantee to get it right. The same goes for Grammar and spelling. English is not my native language, I learned it in school way more than 20 years ago, so you are free to edit my posts if what i write does not come up to your standards. Or just tell me if you prefer only to have people post here who feel secure in using your language.

Hi everyone, I found this site awhile ago, and I can't remember from where. It was probably on the sims3 or boolprop forums. I am newly married, with two cats...
Welcome to the forum Aria! I myself am an identical twin so your problem is not unknown to me :DI thought you looked familiar, you're Bob Marley's brother right? ... Right?
Hi I'm Lark, I'm new to the Sims 3 franchise and I got it christmas which was a month after my birthday so i was old enough to play Sims 3 as soon as I got it. My dad has a little experience with the original SimCity for Pc. So... I hope I'm welcome here and will do my best to contribute to the forum and website. ;D
Hey, the Kreathyr is back! ;D
Sure, he looks Swedish! ;)Welcome to the forum Aria! I myself am an identical twin so your problem is not unknown to me :DI thought you looked familiar, you're Bob Marley's brother right? ... Right?

Kids today...You're three years younger than me, so perhaps he was before my time as well, but he's a very skilled singer and you have to have at least heard of him! I'm happy that noone here had taken Bob Marley as an avatar.

No biggie Pam. I wasn't even alive back then, so maybe I shouldn't play the smart kid. ;)I'm quite sure he was actually...That was me thinking I know something that I don't. Heh. Bob Marley wasn't the first artist I heard record the song in the 1970s, so I thought I was smart. Sorry! :)

Hi, you can call me Grandpa if you want. I really am a grandpa of 12. ;D As to the Muleskinner part of my name, well that's a whole other story. I'll share it if anybody is interested.
Am over the far side of the water to most of you, sunny England :) *winces at the snow we are plagued with*

Heh Grandpa! I also drove a big rig across the country in 1980. Wasn't union, though. Owner-operator for North American Van Lines. I don't remember my CB handle now, but I know it was lame. And you know this is true... once you've driven a rig across the country, you can drive ANYTHING! Lol!

Yeah, they had wheels, but my feet got really sore from all the pedaling on the ground.
Nah, where could you get such a thing from!? Everybody knows that MTV has been around for as long as such things as fire and the number zero, so let's say 1985-ish?Oh wow! I hope that's a joke.I was in elementary school...and that was the year MTV launched. You mean MTV hasn't always been around??

I haven't reached dissecting in school yet :o
Ah, senior biology and the cats. Yeah, my "best" friend thought it would be funny to flick a small piece of cat intestine at me and it stuck on my cheek. Good friends like that are hard to find.
What's up everyone? My name is Aaron. I'm from Portland. I'm new to the forum and just wanted to say hi.. I hope I posted this in the right section.
"Don't waste your time on me, I'm a vegetarian.
You're young, though. You'll get over it."
I've been a vegetarian since 1973; obviously, not so young anymore. Some of us never get over it!

Are you going to take a French class in school?
My high school only offers Spanish which is my native language
I just couldn't resist being a "grammar nazi" here, in light of the last two posts.
Swede, you should've said "...two guys who were in Kuala Lumpur..." and you shouldn't have begun a sentence with the word "And".
aws, your English is far better than some I have (tried to) read on other forums, so don't bee too worried about it! The only errors you made were minor punctuation mistakes (commas are tricky!) and I had no problem understanding what you were saying.
Welcome to the forum!
Ha, ha Eftyen, maybe you're right, noone's perfect! I'll give you that for the subject/verb agreement, but to start a sentence with 'and' is considered unusual and often wrong, but it has in later years become more and more accepted to start a sentence with 'and' depending on the tone of formality of the text.
At least that is one thing we all have in common, loving the sims. I am in that age group also and have played sims since day one. I have still not uninstalled sims2 yet, can't quite bring myself to so. lolUnfortunately I can't yet either. I still love a few things about the Sims 2, but I just can't quite deal with how many things I didn't like. I really enjoyed one of my Sims 2 Families, it was a perfect family but there were far too many glitches standing in my way (like how my new adult sim had been still in love with her teenage sweetheart who would not age up unless I went into his house and played it out until he aged up... *that always took forever!*). So I do only play Sims 3, but can't fully uninstall Sims 2 either... it's so hard!
Welcome to the forum Gemma and all the other newbies that I have not had a chance to welcome.

You will find lots of people here that can relate to the sims. I know when my sister and I are talking about them, sounds like we are talking about real people. Of course, to us, they are sort of real. Welcome to the forum.Just had a moment like this today, my friend Ryan and I were talking about Sims all throughout our photography period because we were done with our projects, and everyone thought we were talking about real life families and people! It was quite hilarious!
Samoht,
Why did you post something about collecting on the Introduce Yourself thread?
Nala mentioned she found our forum while looking for info on collecting.
And on that note, if you guys need anyone to write the walkthrough for the firefighter career I'd be happy to help.
Je m'appelle Da Vinci.Bienvenue Da Vinci! :)
Pam, google "This is my boomstick" and see if you can find Campbell's speech from Army of Darkness. It's classic. Ranks up there with Bluto's "When the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor" speech in Animal House.
Welcome Leto85! Is your name by chance taken from Dune?
We have a lot of great members here and we have a great time with the game. There are plenty of discussion boards and places to get help, plus we also have a challenge tournament going on for 2010 that's a lot of fun.
Be sure and check out the Forum Rules, (http://www.carls-sims-3-forum.com/index.php/topic,74.0.html) too, because there are some things that are restricted here. I've noted from your other posts that English isn't your first language, so I'll be editing your posts for spelling and grammar. This is common and it's not a big deal. We just want the forum to be consistent and friendly for search engines. I just wanted to let you know. Enjoy yourself! :)
My name is indeed from Dune. Althoug I havent read the book myself, my parents did. Wasn't my alter ego on paper a king? I think than my parents has high expectations from me. :P

Welkom Leto. Hoeveel Nederlanders schat je dat we hier hebben?
Hey Leto,
I have to say your English is a good deal better than my Dutch! I have to say I have a huge amount of admiration for anyone who can type in a foreign language. I struggle to speak them let alone write them!
Thank you for the compliment. I've read a lot of English stuff on mostly the internet or by watching movies or playing games (thank you Pokemon) so I'm familiar with the language. He, I know what you mean. I attribute all my English skills from an English Cartoon Network from when I was 3 and then the Simpsons several times a day between 6 and 10. My pokémon however was in Swedish, so that's excluded. It's amazing how much language you can learn from TV, isn't it? :)
By the way, does this forum really exist a year already?!

No. This Forum is only about six months old. Even the Sims 3 game hasn't been out for a year.

Like 90% of all my computer and console games are in English as well, so that certainly has had its part.
The most commonly spoken language is probably gibberish! ;D

When I was very young I just started reading things in English because there was no proper translation available. I was miles ahead when I started English lessons. My parents also thought it was very important for me to learn English, because only a few countries speak Dutch and English is spoken everywhere.
I signed up in October. Didn't this forum or site start up a couple of months before that? Time has already flown by, I can't keep up.
Hey all
I just wanted to introduce myself, I've been reading the guide and forum for some time now and its amazing how many little things you learn that I would have never figured out on my own about the Sims 3.
Again like many of you I've played the Sims series since the beginning. I think the game is great and has so much playability. The next expansion (Ambitions) looks like it adds a whole lot more, and of course, hopefully we'll get Servo back :)
The reason why I signed up for more than lurking is to try and take part in some of the challenges, as I think they look really fun.
Thanks and see you all around
^^!

Swedish pokemon? I wonder how that will sound. 'Ska fånga dem alla' instead of 'gotta catch them all?'You're not far off. "Gotta catch 'em all" became "måste fånga fler" (literal translation: must catch more). Grammatically, the other thing must be "Pikachu, jag väljer dig!", but otherwise it was correct! ;)
Pikachu, jag väljer du!
Helller!
I'm new, obviously. Just wanted to say Hi to everyone. My name is Jovanna but you can call me Jo :)
And I'm currently playing the Sims right now so peace! :p
I've never been to Sweden or Florida, but I was raised at Reindeer Station, Northwest Territories, about 150 miles north of the Arctic Circle. Mosquitoes in the North are so big and hungry there is a hunting season for them. ;)
Very interesting to see many different people and languages on here. Always great to learn about different countries. I live in Florida and it is boring here, not much of a beach goer and it is hot, but it is home and that is what matters. Welcome to all of the newcomers, great site and sure you will learn alot.

Leto asked where it is... ;)
Okay, I Give up! :) The link was the it - Swede it's a tough crowd :D
Yes it is Leto. To colour the regular text in any other colour than black is forbidden by the forum rules, so a blue text will always indicate a link.
Swede it's a tough crowd :D
To insert a link as a word you write first "" (without quotation marks, ignore that the first u is weird) and then write whatever you want the word to be; end with "". This will always give the text that blue colour.

These instructions are how to imbed a link into a word or phrase, which is nice and tidy and everything. But if it's too complicated, just copy the link itself to a post, highlight it, and click on the "Insert Hyperlink" button. That will create a link in your post without it being imbedded.
Thanks for all the Wellcomes ( in my head I am hearing "Thankyou!" "No... Thank yooouu" "No... really I'm touched" )
Wellcome AegisArete. Neat idea to play like that. In the Sims2 I always made my Elf character with the elf ears. Cool back story to your characters. I am never that creative.
Eeee! Really? I just got the elf ear CC for Sims 3; my Baby Boomers are gonna be elves! (I don't think that's a violation or spoiler or anything, unless pointy ears have some hidden strategic benefit of which I am currently unaware...)
I was wondering, which two languages do you speak besides English (if it is beside), and what is the third one? I'm personally interested in languages, that's why I ask. :)
Apart from that I love this forum, I check everyday (if i'm not out on a boat). I think that everybody is so nice, friendly, and helpful. I've learnt so much from this forum, and I like the challenges..
QuoteI was wondering, which two languages do you speak besides English (if it is beside), and what is the third one? I'm personally interested in languages, that's why I ask. :)
English is my second language but I don't really consider it a second language, more like a co-first language, as I've been fluent since I started school at age 5. My native language is, what we (my people) call Low German. My ancestors originated in the Netherlands and spoke Dutch. They then moved to Russia and mixed in some of that. Then it was off to Germany where they actually took on German as a second "first" language, meaning everyone became fluent in both. Next move was to Mexico and they mixed a little Spanish into the "Dutch" they were speaking. Finally, they moved up to Canada and took up English. Anyway, so our Low German is a mixture of Dutch, Russian, German, Spanish, and English; mostly Dutch. I was actually able to read and understand the bit of Dutch written earlier in this thread somewhere! That was exciting.
On a family camping trip many years ago, we were walking back from the beach and were stopped by a couple in a campsite we were passing. They asked us what language we were speaking and it turns out that they were from Holland, spoke Dutch, and understood the majority of what we were saying! Most of what they couldn't understand was spoken too fast, they said. To my knowledge, Low German isn't an official language and doesn't have a written form.
As for the language I know a little of, that's German. My Grandparents' generation is the last to have both Low German and German as co-first languages growing up. My church, during my childhood, offered a youth Bible study class that was taught in German, and my mother made me, and my siblings, attend for 8 years! I started when I was in grade 1. Anyway, years later, during my 4th year of university I needed another option class and thought learning the German language might be fun. And boy was it ever! The best part is that I can have a (fairly simple) conversation with my Grandma in German. I think that's pretty special; it is to me anyway.
Well, was that a long enough explanation for you? I have to stop all this talking or no one will ask me another question! :)
I work as a Marine Ecologist in and Environmental and Engineering Consultancy. Hmmm, and I'm addicted to the sims! ;D Because of work I can't always play the sims. I tend to go away on surveys quite a bit, as well as marine surveys I also do bat and newt surveys.
I just registered (after failing the captcha like 10 times lol) because this seems like a nice community that i would like to be a part of.
My name is Daniella and im from Sweden, i am 16 years old, i got the sims as a gift for christmas but i didnt install it until like last weekend, were i realized what A AWESOME GAME it is. My hobbies (besides playing sims all the time :P) is to play golf and sometimes i go for a ride on one of my moms horses (we live on a farm/ranch so we have like 8 of them lol).
uuuuh i dont know what more to say really, but now i have atleast posted a first post :P
Welcome to the forum Fantalover/ Daniella. What a great place to live must that be, with eight horses! Sounds lovely. And I think you will like it here. Because like you've mentioned youself, this is indeed a nice forum. You will see btw, there are a lot of Swedisch people around here. I'm not one off them though (I'm Dutch) but they will welcome you probably very soon. :D
Most of the northern-european languages look like each other; I was actually able to read what it meant, Fantalover!
Haha cool, though i cant read norweigan or danish, maybe its because im blonde and therefore stupid xDI can both read and understand spoken Norwegian (though for me to speak it is harder). Danish is even further away, so I can just read it and hear some of the dialects, but most of Jutlandic is extremely hard to comprehend.

Wow Illu, really? Maybe I am not Dutch enough, because I didn't understand a single word of it.
My father is French, so I'm not 100% dutch either...
Welcome all the new people.
Danilisaur, what a cool name is that! Do you actually like dinosaurs? I did have a nickname of Letosaurs, because I really was into dinsaurs at younger age (still do sometimes).

Yeah, I think dinosaurs are cool. I really just thought it sounded cool :)
Hi everybody! I'm Swede1992.Ummm, maybe second biggest Simpsons nerd? My son could probably win over you AND your twin brother in a Simpsons quiz hands down. lolz Not only has he memorized every episode since the first to the most current, but owns every Simpsons article of "stuff" every created. Our annual holiday gift to him? More Simpsons stuff he just might not own, (but probably does). Now if I could only get him interested in Sims he'd be more than perfect.
Fun fact: I am very likely to be the biggest Simpsons nerd in the history of humankind. Noone except my stupid twinbrother have ever beaten me in a Simpsons quiz, no matter how irrelevant and stupid the information may be. :P
Hi everybody! I'm Swede1992.Ummm, maybe second biggest Simpsons nerd? Kudos on your choice of addictions! Sims and Simpsons, what could be better?
Welcome to our Forum, Grandpa! I don't have kids or grandkids, but I'm older than Metro and I'll challenge you for oldest member! Lol.

It was not meant as a challenge. Hey, there's >6 billion people in the world; someone besides myself (and that twin) must have memorised all the episodes. ;D

I keep telling my kids, "hey, I'm old, not dead". lolI couldn't agree more to this quote. :)
Hats off to you Joria! You sound like an amazing lady! So glad you found us here in this little corner of the net.
PS: I'm an Oregon Native too. :) Although living in WA now, but just barely. ;D
I've been all over the country, but never made it to Washington and Oregon. Sure wanted to see it, too.I can say the exact same thing Pam! Only I'm excited for the fact that I'm getting a trip to Oregon for my birthday! I'm quite excited. :) I heard it's such a beautiful state, my family and I can't wait.
Ha! I knew someone would say that. Alas no, I live in the great state of Washington. Almost World Adventures, but not quite. ;)
If I may ask, what kind of stories (if they are stories) do you write?
Hehe, I am a bit predictable sometimes. :P But honestly, I didn't know where WA stands for. :$ Yes, the W is for Washington, but the A I couldn't find.
Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! ;D
When I'm in the mood to write, I tend to write song lyrics, bad poetry, and Fantasy/SciFi stuff. When it comes to longer stories, most of it tends to stay in my head since I have a really hard time putting the words down exactly the way I want them to go.
I wrote a dramatic story once about the Grim Reaper, but I hid it in my closet.

...I don't get it. ???
You mean the joke about jumping up and down? It probably means that the country (according to the joke) is very small. But I can get that wrong.
I'm new to the site but not new to SIMS. I am looking forward to seeing everyone's post and perhaps get ahead of the new expansions for SIMS 3. This will be fun getting to know everyone.
We don't have Monsoon Season either, that's why it's a joke.
Oh... nevermind. lol

Hi Scout...welcome!
You're going to just love collecting! Happy Simming! :)
Lots of new people like me joining here.
I'm of swedish ancestry and being Norwegian I can understand swedish perfectly;)Yeah, I'm Swedish, so Norwegian is also very comprehensible for me. Sure, weird grammar, spelling and vocabulary in places (at least for me! ;D), but hey, some supposed Swedish dialects I've heard have been worse! ;)
I almost forgot: I never introduced myself! Hi, I'm the Illuminator!
Welcome to all the new folks! Sheesh, you take off for a week or so and come back to what, 15 new members? That's awesome! ;DIt's always amazing how much you can miss, in what would normally feel like such a short space of time, right? :D
TollingBells: I really like you picture. Is that a sabletooth or a smilodonth?
Probably my cat, Leto...
I joined this forum because I realized that 99.9% of the time when I Googled for an answer to a Sims 3-related question, an article from Carl's Guides would show up at the top of the page, and would have the answer(s) I needed
Hi, my name is Bailey! I am new to the forum and just decided to drop in. I've only played the Sims 3, so kind of a newbie here ;D I also have the World Adventures Expansion! I've used the guide for reference many a time before, but only recently used this website. This is my first post, so yay!
(Edited to remove TMI of the uninteresting sort.)
Howdy Apple!
"Arielle" is a super-nice name, don't go hating on Mom 'cause she skipped naming you "Apple."
It's very nice to see you here! Give your husband a shout-out (he better be Level 70 ... if not, tell him to shape up) and your baby girl a "snuggle" from the Sims world! :D

Long time Sims addict here. Been onboard since my best friend showed me the Sims 1. Since it's pretty hard to talk Sims with people who don't play like co workers I decided to join the forums.
I work in customer service and actually like it! I enjoy anime, books , movies, music, plays and alot more. I think keeping my interests varied makes me a more well rounded person. I look foward to meeting you all.

At age 36, I feel a little out of place. ;)
These days, I consider The Sims 3 to be my most embarassing addiction. I'm totally in love with the game, but I rarely speak of it with my friends. And most people I hear discussing it on the internet forums seem to be teenagers. At age 36, I feel a little out of place. ;)
Welcome mtglady and Glic! At 55 I'm just getting started with the Sims, and loving it.
Is it "mountain glade-y" or "mountain G lady" or "meeting lady"? The voices inside my head want to get it right. ;)
Well hi my name is Belle and contrary to what you all might think I am a boy. I will not answer questions about my name...
Is there a map for where all the seperate discussions are for what categories include what?
Hello all,
I recently discovered this site, and so far it has been a great help in my Sim's attempts to fulfill their life goals. I'm intrigued by these challenged y'all have here, but they are intimidating. Maybe some day I'll be brave enough to join in.
(Have I been on the forum long enough to say it? ;))
Thanks for the warm welcome guys :D
Okay, so I'm 14...
That's what we're calling ourselves now? ;)
That's right Nilla (nice name btw, does it mean anything special?)Sorry if I answer this Nilla and you wanted to :): It's either a common nickname if your real name's Pernilla or Gunilla, but it is in some cases a name by itself as well. For what it means, I know that Gunilla is the same as 'Gunhild', which is a composite word of two Viking age words (not used anymore) which meant battle/combat/war (the name itself is often modernised to mean shieldmaiden). I don't know so much more.
Hi and welcome to our Forum, Jenny! Since you're a builder, have you looked at the building contests and showboat threads? We've got some members who really enjoy building, too. I can make do for my families, but I'm not a great architect. :)
Hi Jenny, welcome to the forum. Good luck with the building (both contest-wise and family-wise ;)).
Greetings,
I'm Du5tin from Texas. My wife and I have recently purchased TS3. We're in love. However, I wish I would have stuck with playing the game ten years ago. I played Sims 1 for a while but nothing past that. I really like the Sims cannon. I'm about to start a game as Gobias Koffi. I just wish the wife had her own computer!
;),
Du5tin
Haha, in love and harmony you should share everything. :P Even computers. Glad you like the game. It was a good decision to subscribe here. Now you can dive even more deeply into the game.
Welcome to the forum Du5tin, enjoy yourself here.
Thanks for the welcomes :3
@Leto - sprites are the graphics in computer games =D I just do edits of existing characters from the Ace Attorney series.
Hello Robin, welcome. Where country is southern Maryland in?
Welcome to the form, Barbie! (Is it okay if I call you that?) It's always nice to meet a fellow Sims addict! ;)
welcome everyone.
as for the discussion about sims addiction, maybe we should move that to another thread...
Hello. New to the forums.
I've been playing the Sims really since the very first one. I love playing the game as a stress reliever (especially when something funny in the game happens). I like to build houses and other buildings as well as just experiment with random things in game. :)
Hi I'm ptina4. I'm gerrr00's daughter. I'm 11 years old and I love the Sims!
Is the pc version the same as the console version PS3?
I have one suggestion for the site. I think you should branch out to Youtube. You could show gameplay of newly released EPs, have visual tutorials for guides or CAW, or even have a legacy series video.

More Texans. *shivers* ;)
Ahoy-hoy. Greetings fellow addicts. I am Snuzi and I am a Simaholic.
The rapidly deteriorating state of our local economy has left me without a job and any valid prospects for the foreseeable future. It is with large thanks to these unfortunate circumstances of mine that I have become invigorated with the passion for Sims that I lost when I embarked upon a university degree and signed my life away for good. Every cloud and its silver lining, hey? At least, had it not been for that, I wouldn't be here today - gracing you with my endless wit and soul-defying cynicism. ;)
On a lighter note, I greatly look forward to making a lot of new friends here.
How many people do we have here already?
We have 2,490 registered members.Although, we have 2,490 registered, under the members tab at the top of the page, we have less than 11 pages worth of participants to the forum... so sad :-\ But that is okay because we still have so many helpful and nice members of the forum!
Welcome to the Forum, musicfanatic!
Be sure you get registered with Metro if you're going to participate in the 2011 challenges. It's a bit different from last year.
Big welcome to Micler! Glad to hear you enjoy the guide and forum, and that you finally decided to share. Thanks! :)
Hey Glass! Welcome to the forums! Seeing you are an artist- do you like to build your sims or build the houses? Simstar3 is also a bit of an artist- she's is a great writer! Anywho welcome and we hope you can enjoy others' advice here.
Welcome trickytrickester and Glassy!
Actually, is 23 considered old anywhere?
So, you're studying Graphic Design. Do you have much experience with it yet?
I have experience with Graphical Design, Video Editing, Site Design, and I know how to negotiate.
Hiya!
If anyone needs I can supply formulae for challenges and the like
But if I get them wrong please don't have a go at me. This is GCSE stuff and I'm not even 13 yet.
But I can do the maths!
For instance, let's say that there is a timed challenge on. Someone posts their time as "Week 2, Day 4, 15:00", and you need to find the number of hours.
The formula would be as follows:
W=weeks, d=day, and h=hour.
168 hours in a week, and 24 in a day.
T(total)=w(Number of weeks)(multiplied by)168+d(number of days)(multiplied by)24+15(from the hours)-8(because the game starts at 8am.
So it all boils down to:
T=(wx168)+(dx24)+h-8
Yes, I know I shouldn't be using the multiplication sign, but it makes it much easier to read.
The answer is:
168x2=336. 4x24=96. Plus 15. Minus 8. And the answer is...439 hours in total
To clarify... 14x24=336(from the weeks). 4x24=96(from the days). Plus 15 from the hours. Minus 8, because of the start of time in a game.
Which equals... 439 hours!
Hooray!I was right! :o
So, if that doesn't prove my equations as genuine and correct, then I don't know what will. If you need an equation calculated, you know who to come to. Don't you?? ???

Hi all! I joined the forums yesterday. :DWelcome, cheernastic! ;D Um... can I call you that? :-\
This is something that has bothered me for a long time and I'm finally just going to ask. When did "math" become "maths" with an S?
Maths and math are both abbreviations of mathematics. Maths is how we say it in England, but Americans shortened it to math. Nobody is right or wrong, but maths is older. You're correct. Here's the Wiktionary (http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/maths) page on it. You can't ask American teachers/professors Pam! ;)

Do other subjects receive the same type of abbreviation? Just curious. Like would you say, "I'm off to study sciences." Or "I need to brush up on my histories."
You can't ask American teachers/professors Pam! ;)
I am looking for fun and new things to do with my sims :)
Welcome, Bianca! I love your profile pic, it's so kawaii! ;D
I live in Anchorage, Alaska, and already feel a bond with all the western Canadians and northern Europeans on the site. It's cold, snowy, and dark here too, which is the PERFECT excuse to spend way too much time indoors playing the Sims!
Priyansh, welcome to the forum! We have a wonderful family of Sim players here from all over the world. It's great to meet someone from India. Enjoy your time here.
Welcome all newcomers I've forgot to personally greet! ;DYeah, isn't it amazing? When I started there was a lot less members, but now everytime I look,we've got a new "newest member"!
It really makes me happy seeing this place constantly growing! :D
Hello, I'm not really new to the Sims, but new here. Needed some advice on a couple of things, but thought I'd say hello here first.
hnuh, never noticed this thing before... probably should do this? :P
Hi! I'm Castaras, and I'm a student in my last year of Sixth Form, before I head off to University to do Maths. I came into the Sims franchise very recently (before Christmas this year) and am hooked.
I'm obsessive - I get hooked to something and will play that solidly for however long I'm obsessed with it. Then I'll move to another game and be hooked to that. So far, Sims 3 has been the first game I got hooked to before I even bought it. :D
I'm also a little strange (understatement). My moods fluctuate a lot, and I can end up being very hyper - which translates to very silly posts. >.< But I try and stay reasonably calm.
So yeah. I'm weird! And proud of it! ^^ Hi! *waves*
Hi, sculptress!
Do you also use CAW (Create A World)?
Talented users of CAW are in short supply, and over on the requests thread our clever samoht is doing all the work!
(But I don't think he minds :D)
Seeya around! ;D
Hello first thing wow this thread has loads of posts :o. anyway. I'm banded and I'm doing my GCSE's. I've been snooping around the guide for a while then I discovered the forum. Don't even ask about the name because I don't even know why. I think it might have been me thinking of the word band becuase I make musical sims and just sort of added "ed" on the end ???. anyway nice to meet you all.
I am a little behind on my welcomes, so I do sincerely hope that all the newcomers enjoy their time here. I am sure someone will have an answer to any questions you might have. :)Yes, everybody here is always hapy to help!
An official welcome to kattiq! I've been enjoying your Lancaster Dynasty already. Thanks! I'm glad someone does ;)
I have a Jack Russell Terrier, also a high energy dog, and an intelligent independent thinker, like Shipperkes.
Welcome to the forum and the Mac club, Amelia!
If you have any Mac questions give me a shout. There are a few of us that play on Macs and we try to help each other out.
I am a little behind on my welcomes, so I do sincerely hope that all the newcomers enjoy their time here. I am sure someone will have an answer to any questions you might have. :)
Over at where I am it's over 30 degree Celsius everyday and raining every other. Silly South East Asia climate. ): I would love to see some snow!Believe me, I've lived in Asia before and had summer all year round. Now I'm stuck in the middle of the snow- I'd gladly have summer all the time :P
Believe me, I've lived in Asia before and had summer all year round. Now I'm stuck in the middle of the snow- I'd gladly have summer all the time :P
I don't exactly wish to have snow all the time, just a more temperate climate so that I don't end up all sweaty just walking to the bus stop to get to school lol.
Anyway I realised that I have not introduced myself (: I'm a 20-going-on-21 undergrad majoring in Economics and Japanese Studies. I've lived in the sunny island of Singapore all my life and take both English and Mandarin as my first language. I usually play mmorpgs so sims was a little different when I first tried it. My secret little wish is for sims to be an mno too so that I can play with my friends in the same town. Right now I hope to complete my dynasty and take part in all the challenges. (:
My other Sim is Jewel Cartier, a recent (as in last night) arrival to SV. She is the founder of my legacy family - 'The Family Jewels'.
Hai, I is TkeleChog, navajo for something horribly hilarious.Hi I'm simlishlol, I've actually been around for a while, but I just thought I'd introduce myself for sim's sake! ::)
This website and forum look great: informative and welcoming! From what I've read and seen so far, everyone seems very friendly, which is awesome. Hopefully I will learn some great tips that will enhance my Simming experience!
Keruri
I've been reading / lurking on these forums for a couple of months now (ever since I started playing SIMS 3)... finally decided to register and join the party. I love this website and the forums. Tons of useful information. Thank you very much!
Put simply, I am what many call a nerd.
You know what the cool kids call nerds when they grow up?Just a little bit ;) That's a great joke, Hosfac :D
Boss. (Being a nerd myself, I love that joke. ;D )
Welcome to the forum everybody, even those of you who have been here a bit. :P
Hi my name is All and I am new to the Sims forum. I really enjoy: inventing, painting, decorating, and ghostbusting. My most favourite is inventing. ;D
I especially like playing large families. :)
Hello. My name is Seabody.
I was looking through the games section of a local shop once and thought: "Sims? Well, it's better than doing nothing." How right I was.
Since then I have bought almost all the expansion packs (I'm missing the one with the chemistry set in Sims 1, I think it's Livin' Large? :'() I personally prefer cooking to most other skills (bar gardening and inventing). I generally don't like playing families above 5 Sims, but I'm doing the Immortal Dynasty. *Gulp*. And I'm up to Gen. 3. And my founder met Grim (his wife died.)
My favourite expansion pack? Probably Makin' Magic and Apartment Life. For Sims 3? It's a tie. At this moment, World Adventures, Late Night and Ambitions are tied for first place.
Sims is definitely better than doing nothing. That's for sure. ;)
Now time to go finish up my homework (Working on my last 3 weeks of my second college degree) so I can get back to my Dynasty. It is addictive I tell ya!I know what you mean!
I'm an expert house builder in Sims 3, and I've raised many families.
(and we're not obsessed at all, we could all give up the Sims whenever...*shifty grin*)Really? :P
Really? :PYes... ;) hehe.
Hooray, someone acknowledged me! XD Thanks simstar!I can assure you that everyone here will acknowledge everything you say. No opinion will go unnoticed, because we all value what everyone has to say :)
Thanks alexandria :DYou're very welcome :)
Thanks, everyone :DHaha
No one tells me how to eat mah socks! 8)
Don't socks taste really bad?
Don't socks taste really bad?Wool socks taste bad. ;D Others don't.
Welcome to the forum, ILikeMyUsername! You seem like a fun person. Am I right? :)Haha, I think you are right. :P
You seem like a fun person.Seconded!
Seconded!
Good day...Willy Wonka? ;D
I SAID GOOD DAY!
Welcome RoninofRyugu :)
Is it okay to shorten that to Ronin?
Perhaps the lots are community lots instead of residential ones?
If that's not the case, hopefully you find the answer!
Welcome Ronin! I'm glad you're enjoying TS3 - but not glad for the reasons of your abundant free time. I hope things turn around for you.
Hi! I am Sim City Bus Driver! I have joined the Sims 3 site with the same name!Hi there! I guess you also like Sim City then :P
Please make me welcome!
Sim City Bus Driver!
Attention! Attention! All you who think I like Sim City! I do not play it! TS3 is much better! I just like buses. Very, very, much! And of course TS3!B-b-but...Sim City... :P Nah, just joking. I agree, TS3 is better.
SimCityBusDriver
EDIT: Um... Ellenser's post has this as the subject line: "!!"
Hello (again!)
Ok so I have a new account. Why? Because I lost my old one. I am just told that "This username does not exist". So, since I have made no real achivement here, I have come in a new form!

Seabody, you speak japanese?Hai! (Yes!) I can even (kind of) write in Hiragana and Katakana (the picture scripts)!
Yey! Thankyou for all the welcomes! That's very nice. :D I'M GETTING IT TODAY! Woop woop! (I'm trying very hard not to say WooHoo cos that sounds like.. err.. the other thing ::) ) Yey!
Hi everyone! I'm new to this site so I guess this is a good place to start. I've been following this forum for a few months actually but kept putting off making an account! Yea.... ::) can't think of anything else to say so I guess I'll end it here. Oh yea and by the way Pam your dynasty is awesome! I actually spent a few hours reading through ever page! ( took awhile!) Well Bye for now! ;DWelcome, Tommyo!
I'm Jeana. I've been playing Sims since Elementary School, mostly with my cousins. I didn't get a chance to formally introduce myself and already I am a Sr.Member, so I figured now would be the time to do so. Tommyo, you will love this forum. It's the most reliable (unofficial) Sims 3 guide out there. ;DA (bleated) welcome to ShortCatLadyx3!
Greetings. Just wanted to drop in and introduce myself.Welcome!
I've been playing The Sims 3 about three months and having alot of fun. Been following this site about two months reading many of the old topics and finally thought I would register. Great site btw.
Hope to chat with you all sometimes.
Sierra
Haha, me too! ;DSo was I! ^^
Welcome Blazers, Dusty and Sierra! I look forward to seeing you around :)You joined when you were 9? :o
Er...I wasn't. I was 9, I think. :D
So was I! ^^No, I played Apartment Life when I was nine. :D But a Simmer for much longer.
You joined when you were 9? :o
Wow!
Oh yeah, It wasn't. My bad.Ok, I'm sorry for how off-topic this is, but really? My dad encouraged me to play TS1 when I was about 3! :o
My dad only let me play sims after I turned 11. >:(
Yup - that's Sims 1. And cheats were basic too - to cheat to max moods, you needed to save and use MoveObjects, or else they'd lose all progress since the last save.
Rotation sucked too - there were four positions. I guess there are infinite positions to place the camera in Sims 3.
If you're new to the forum and want to introduce yourself, feel free to do so here!
I stickied this post because I never want it to die. It's a great guestbook for new people who don't have a question in particular but just want to greet us!
I assure you that you'll eventually start one. lol It's unavoidable. ;)True. When I first joined, writing a story seemed so hard and impossible to me. Now I've got 2 of them going on. Well technically only one since the other one is on hiatus until Generations comes out lol.
I assure you that you'll eventually start one. lol It's unavoidable. ;)
The Yawhouses? I've not spotted that one, Seabody. On which board is it? Your other ones are great though.
Welcome to the forum, Sam! I am a die-hard GaGa fan too! Baby I was born this way! W00T! :D
Welcome Sam!
29 generations?! Wow :o
I think the longest I've gone is 8 :D
Nah, unfortunately GaGa never bothered to come to Armenia. :( Still buy and love her music though. ;D Glad to meet another Little Monster! lol
You live in ARMENIA!?? Coincidence or what?: I'm off on a city break to Yerevan in October. :P
Glad to meet another Little Monster! lol
Welcome James and Sam!
I love science too-just chose all three at Int 2 level ;D
Welcome to James and Sam (and anyone else I may have missed!) I'm in awe at a 29 generation family! I think the longest I've lasted has been maybe three generations. I love Lady Gaga too!
If you're new to the forum and want to introduce yourself, feel free to do so here!

@Bulfmaster : Guess I top you in age! Now I really feel like an old fogie! HA! Have a 32 year old, 30 year old and a 21 year old and 2 grandkids. And I certainly don't feel old either. I still go out clubbing (can't get the party animal out of me yet)!
Re-welcome, Platnum! You must have been here before I joined because I've never seen you around here, so welcome. ;D
I have been Simming since the beginning and I was always looking to find fellow SimAddicts.
Hello Fez and welcome. Yes I believe I haven't been on since March. I think before my birthday (March 24th) because my laptop died two days before. I hope you are enjoying yourself around here. I haven't even put a dent in the amount of information that's available in these threads. I have been Simming since the beginning and I was always looking to find fellow SimAddicts. I was happy to find this place and people who had the same questions I had. Hope you find a happy home away from Sunset Valley. :D
Well welcome to you as well CSquared. I hope you have fun here. I try to be on here at all times since my non-Sim friends think I'm nuts when I talk to them about my Sim-dramas and tragedies. However my job gets in the way of my Sim life - darn that need to have income thing. LolYeah, motherlode should exist in real life too. :D I did notice that you weren't around...
I wish cheats in general existed.
LOL, imagine if we could make our own needs static so we could be having a blast permanently? xDOr if we could drag up friendship bars... :)
Or if we could drag up friendship bars... :)
Thanks Esther! You're welcome! No, it's not a bad thing! ;D Everyone here is addicted to the game! :D
And I'm sure I'll soon be glued to The Sims instead of revising for my upcoming exams, judging by the level of addict-ness here! :D
But is that a bad thing?
Thanks Esther!

@Chronic, I didn't know you were a recent addition to the forums. I just assumed you have been here for ever. Obviously I don't know how these stars and status things work. Nor do I check profiles. :-[
Really March? Where do you find the time to even play? I'm getting tired and I haven't even started the game. I just finished installing everything. I'm registering them online. I have to get up for work in like 2hours so day two has gone by since I got Generations and I cannot enjoy it. I might as well just wait till the weekend. :-\
Hello Everyone! I'm Gabi, I'm new here but not to The Sims, been playing since the game first came out, I think I was a bout 9, now I 20.
But anyway, I've been looking for a Sims forum and I stumbled across this one/
HI all! Long time frequenter, new commenter. I joined because I was inspired by all the beautiful pictures and things in the Swap Shop, and i got to thinking - I could do something for this! Which seems right, because the site has given me a lot of information and entertainment up til now, so I thought it'd be good to get more involved. Everyone seems lovely, and I'm looking forward to spending some more time here! :)
Fishing is one of my favourites, which is rather ironic considering that I'm a vegan IRL but hey... virtual fish feel no pain, right? :P
The main goal in a dynasty is to obtain a family of eight generations of immortals living under one roof. There are a lot of rules, including many requirements in order to become truly immortal.
Greetings, Kindofagirl! I hear you with regard to juggling multi-sims. Although I'm not working on an official Dynasty/Legacy, I am currently managing my biggest family ever (for me) all living under one roof. It's a delightful challenge to keep them all happy, well-adjusted and productive (several of them always sneak off to play video games). The family consists of my original sim, her husband, their adult twin daughters and the daughters' husbands. And now, both daughters are pregnant. Heaven help me if they both have twins!
...Luckily enough for you Sim Posey, it's impossible for either to have twins, maximum 8 household members remember! ;)
This is the filmhound painting by Micheal Sowa. It's most familiar feautured in the French film titled "Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain.
Do you mind if we call you Needless, or Fiend?Fiend is fine. :P And thanks!
I'll enjoy becoming acquaintances with all of you in the future. :)Acquaintances? See, we're all actually Sims in disguise. The moment you meet us, we're your acquaintances. By the time you've made a few social interactions (or posts), you're already our friend. -group hug-
And Execution, I think you're amusing.Do you want to be my friend, too? -creepy giggles-
Welcome, misha, and a wonderful idea for;) *cough...Agnes...coughcough*spousesbosses! ;)
Thank you for the warm welcomes! :DYou get used to it in a way around here, it is lovely though!
jessiethedog: Yes I am! I love giving my sims their own personality and backstory. :)
Hi Anne, and welcome!
TS3 is much better than TS1 or TS2 (At least in my opinion. Some would argue TS2 is better). The game is so great, and try begging your parents. But not in a I-want-it-give-it-to-me-or-you'll-never-see-the-cat-again way. Worked for me and Generations!
I don't know why but with this Forum it makes it feel like the Game is multiplayer, with being able to share stories, sims, households, creations etc. it's like you share the game.
My birthday's just before my school end of year exams (September), so my luck is low for the birthday present idea.
I've been trying to convince my mother to buy me a Laptop early since June. And she almost did at one point (My birthday is next month)!
(and I got sims 3 and sims 3 ambitions on it, though those are very limited especially compared to the pc game I've heard)
Or if you own a Western Terrier, a Poodle or any other breed of dog with obscene amounts of hair, offer to mow the dog.
Shamelessly advertise that all you want. It's something that sets us apart and new members should be aware of it!I have been on social networking sites, too. ;)
Or if you own a Western Terrier, a Poodle or any other breed of dog with obscene amounts of hair, offer to mow the dog.
Anne, try offering to mow the lawn, wash the dog, whatever in exchange for Sims 3.
Or if you own a Western Terrier, a Poodle or any other breed of dog with obscene amounts of hair, offer to mow the dog.
Yeah..I realized just how long it was after I posted. looks can be deceiving on this small phone screen...:) I just have a load to say.
Perfect shortening. can't think of a more better way. (doesn't sound right)
And thank you for being so welcoming!
Hey guys!
I´m Chantal, 25 years old from the Netherlands. Highly addicted to the sims x)
I hope that was a good way to shorten your name. Sorry if it wasn't.
After reading those posts I have a feeling I'm gonna like it here. :D
Welcome to the forums, Extrano! I guess we're all strange here, spending our days looking at pixels talking to each other and doing stuff.
I guess we're all strange here, spending our days looking at pixels talking to each other and doing stuff. That's strange? I thought it was normal, especially watching pixels grow old, get married, have nooboos, skill up, and die. What's strange about enjoying watching pixels? :P

Heyya, Extrano! *waves* (Sorry, I can't do the accents either :-[) Would it be okay if I called you Extra sometimes, I shorten everybody's names-would you prefer another? You will enjoy this forum. No doubt about it. MWAHAH...I mean, hehe.Sure I don't mind.
There's nothing wrong with it if you're looking from our point of view. But from my Mum's, yes it is. :PSame here. Last night when I was playing Sims, it was about 12:00 and my mom came in and this was the following conversation:
Harvest Moon or Animal Crossing, anyone?Second addiction and former addiction. ;D
And of course you don't! Hopefully...
Did you ever get talked down to on the Official EA forums, for posting a comment or an idea too?
This forum is drama free of course.
I think that I might actually be allergic to drama. We all are. ;) Deathly allergic to it!!
Welcome Chantal, may I call you LetoJr? ;)
Depends on the age of the Senior
Depends on the age of the Senior :P
Same age as you are: 25. But I am from september. Does that make me the junior or the senior now? Dilemma, dilemma...
Aloha guys (and gals), my name Manuela and I was adopted from Japan a while ago.Welcome to the Forum, Manuela! ;D
Now I am 25, living in Hawaii and surfing. I have the Sims 3, but no expansion packs.
This sounds like a great forum, so, um, yeah.
The more simaholics the better! :D
Hi my name is imaGleek. Just by my username you can tell that my favourite tv show is glee. I have a newbie question, how do you change your profile picture?
Hello everyone, my name is Anne and I'm 52 years old living in Texas.
I was introduced to Sims City, when I was diagnosed with breast cancer, and had treatment. My husband and I own four birds, two cats, and three norwegian elkhounds.
Welcome, Anne! Your Sims story resembles mine - I started Simming when I was being treated for ovarian cancer. The cancer's gone, I'm glad to say, but the Sims habit remains. ;D Glad to meet you, and I hope you enjoy the forum.I'm glad to say the same too. Cancer was tough, but I beat it (and had a new addiction to Sims!) ;D
Hello to Gleek and Anne. :)
Love the signature, Gleek. Brittany is my favorite character from Glee. She never fails to have me howling with laughter. :D
Are you new goat? I haven't noticed you grazing around.
Just to see what new sims the game will throw at me, because, quite frankly, I'll be happy if I never see Christopher Steel or Jamie Jolina again.*Gasp* Oh my llama!! What did darling Chris ever do to you?? :'( Oh, and welcome everyone new! ;D
Thank you! May I call you Esther?Welcome to the forum! No, you have to call her 1981. Just kidding. ;D
Thank you! May I call you Esther? You're welcome! Yes you can!
Welcome to the forum! No, you have to call her 1981. Just kidding. ;DHaha hilarious!
Hi again Elizabeth! Esther1981 prefers the name 81. Agent 81. :PWhat exactly am I an agent of? ???
No! She's Agent of Agnes! (Agnes' Story)She makes sure Agnes gets payed enough in appearance fees when she comes to sunset valley. So that's how she brings so much money with her in dynasties.
What exactly am I an agent of? ???
[/quote
Your the agent that protects poor new forum members from being ganged up on and being forced to pay taco tax!
[/quote
instead of
I agree with imaGleek, actually! (ima, you're missing an ] at the end of your quote. It reads:Code: [Select][/quote
instead ofCode: [Select]
So...yah. I think that is my introduction. I hope we can get along ^.^
Lesson to self: always reread what I've typed before hitting that Post key.)
I think you missed me, Schipperke. My name is Elizabeth. :D
I have a picture of me sleeping on a couch. ~giggles~
I see you've made a number of posts already, so you're obviously finding your way around the forum quite well.
(As I was typing that last sentence, I realized that I had left out a letter "r", turning "friendly" into "fiendly", which was not at all what I intended!Yikes that could have been interesting haha. Welcome to everyone new!
The Sims is what got me into architecture and it's what's making me consider it as a college major.
Hi! I'm Bekka and I'm new to Sims entirely! I found out about Sims through my neighbor, and love it! I love to write stories, so I may post something of that sort in a bit. I love raising children on Sims! Teaching toddlers is such fun.
I really am curious how to pronounce that correctly.
Mine?
You can just pronounce it how it's spelled e-lain-faro. It's not a real word. It's my name and my last name together.
Your avatar seems to support that perfectly, haha! :D
EDIT: Schipperke answered my questions perfectly. Thank you very much.
You're very welcome. I'm wondering about your username, CrossedTowers. Would you mind tellling us about it?
I posted about it in the "Where does your profile name come from" thread. :)
@Samoht, Is your name Thomas?
Yes it is. ;)
@Schipperke, I used to have a Schip! Her name was Dolly ;D
Oh, how nice to meet another Schipperke person! If you're interested in Schip patterns, check out the swap shop. In addition to all the other patterns our talented members have created, there are several Schip designs. One by Seabody with an adorable Schip picture, and Gheez has a couple, including a very cute t-shirt pattern.
Hi guys...
You may not remember me...but I'm Natsuko. Not much else to say. I am sorry I deleted my account...it was a bipolar mood swing. I'm all cool now. ;)

Hi guys...Could never forget you!! Welcome back Nat!
You may not remember me...but I'm Natsuko.
Hey Hey. I joined the forums because I really love the sims 3. I have the pc version and it is absolutely awesome. Also I was hoping to get help with some of the things I cant do and possibly help others too! Ok so a little about my self. I am 12 years old and love 80's music. Especially Duran Duran and James!!!
Hi guys...
You may not remember me...but I'm Natsuko. Not much else to say. I am sorry I deleted my account...it was a bipolar mood swing. I'm all cool now. ;)
Greetings everyone!Welcome to the forum!
I'm plumbbobparadise (known as venusdemilosims on Sims 3 site). I've been playing since the days of Sims 1 (actually about 2004-ish). I no longer have my sims 1 disks, I loaned them to my niece and I haven't seen them since. lol
Anyway, I'm north of 30, I live in the deep South... um, what else... that's about it I guess. I've lurked here for about 5 months and finally got the courage to show my face (or my words I guess). lol
Oh yah, my Sim maintains a little blog about her family, http://justplumbnuts.blogspot.com.
Welcome BMWsauber! I know you'll enjoy it here, and since EA made the game we all love, it's a good thing right? ;) The bugs do get a bit annoying, but still not annoying enough to give up the game. Hmm. ;D
Hey Lauren here :) Just joined today!Welcome to the forum Lauren!
Hey Lauren here :) Just joined today!
Now we just need a Juliet…
Welcome to the forum, Romeo. I hope you enjoy your time here.I plead the fifth.
Thinking of changing your username, Sportsfan? ;D Just kidding! Somehow, I don't think "Juliet" would suit you.
I plead the fifth.
(for those that don't know pleading the fifth is an expression alluding to the fifth amendment in the us constitution, that states you don't have to speak if it will incriminate you)
Welcome romeo and Legendary! You're surprised I actually listen in school?!
I did not expect to return from school, hop on, restart the computer (twice!) and then read a fact from Sportsfan! :o What has the world come to!?
I think the youngest is 11 - SimCityBusDriver, but does he still come here? The dark plumbob too
Welcome sosobaggins, I agree with you, there are some amazing stories on here.
Welcome Soraya! Such a pretty name!
Welcome Soraya! I've been to St. Lucia! Beautiful place, I held a turtle there and went to a butterfly farm. :)
Welcome, Soraya! Does your username indicate a fondness for hobbits?
I got so hooked I now have many expansions too [Ambitions, Late night, Generations, World adventures]
Four "Welcome Abe!" posts in a row!
Anyways, welcome to the forum Abe! It's a really awesome community, flame and troll free! ;D
Four "Welcome Abe!" posts in a row!I was thinking of just quoting one of the posts above me lol
Anyways, welcome to the forum Abe! It's a really awesome community, flame and troll free! ;D
Glad to see a forum member close to my age too! Nothing against the age groups, but I hardly see people in their early 20's around here. I'm going to be 22 on November 3rd.
I was just thinking the same thing the other day. I'm 20, by the way.
You live in the States?
Pardon me if my post annoyed everyone and bad writing .So annoying!
Whoa, like three new people posted in a row, and nobody even had a chance to great them! Stellar! Welcome Roger, Maria and Rebecca, too!We should be ashamed for not keeping up lol.
Hi, I'm Kimberly. I been here for a while I found the forum through Google when I needed help to solve some Sim problem or another.
I played the first Sims a long time ago, but I didn't really get into it because the computer was really just able to play it and every time the game started to get really interesting it crashed.
Now many years and computers later I have a lot of fun playing Sims 3
Welcome Kailyn!^My thoughts!
Hi Everyone!
My name is Kailyn and well...obviously I have the sims 3 ;D I only have the base game, trying to figure out which expansion pack to get first. Probably going with generations but we'll see I change my mind quite frequently. ::)
Hope I get to know all of you very well and hope to have fun. :D
Hello my name is PassionPlay and I am brand new to sims 3. The only other game I have played is the sims social on facebook which lead me to believe that I would love the sims3. I was wrong...well not completely.I actually really like this game. I am just finding it difficult to play w/o a manual I am playing sim 3 on a mac. I downloaded the game from amazon. I have no manual and have been relaying on whatever info I can locate online. Thank you Carl and Pam and everyone here. I am having a really tough time getting this game. I want to build my sim a home but have had the lot for a few days and I am lost lol. I wanted to download a home, since building one is totally freaking me out lol. If anyone has any thing they can tell me that may help.Feel free to let me know! Happy gaming everyone<3
Woo! Another Hunger Games fan! You'll see VampirePlasma around, I think she might be the biggest fan I know. Her or gleek. Where is gleek anyways?
I'm sure Gleek is busy with school and is therefore taking a break. I don't remember her being a huge fan like VampirePlasma. That would make sense.
Welcome Nightlyre!
Hope you enjoy it here. Please feel free to write about your Sims or share your buildings; except for the challenges, we're not very competitive. And even with the challenges (which I encourage you to try), the main purpose is to have fun.
It was like the game of my dreams, the game I had tried to make for my own with paper and pencil ;).
Hi!
Maybe I should introduce myself ;). I usually introduce myself as a super-Sims-nerd, a Nintendo-nerd and a crazy cat lady ;).
Hi!
Maybe I should introduce myself ;). I usually introduce myself as a super-Sims-nerd, a Nintendo-nerd and a crazy cat lady ;).
I have played Sims since 2000. I remember when I first read about it in one of those computer magazines I just loved to read these days. It was like the game of my dreams, the game I had tried to make for my own with paper and pencil ;). And since then I play the Sims games as often as I have time to!
I stumbled on this great (super great) forum when I had some technical problems with my game. I really like this forum, its very informative and the people seems to be incredibly nice!
Now tell me you are a Zelda and/or cosplay nerd and you'll be my newest hero/heroine.
Welcome to the forum, Miniagge! From what you've told us about yourself, I think you'll find a lot of kindred spirits here.
I'm a real sims fan, racing to a store the minute I hear that a new EP is in. I've been playing the sims for years, starting from the sims 1.
Welcome Rohebat! I have a shih tzu too :)
And you haven't broken any rules! Things are pretty casual around here. I wouldn't worry about getting in trouble for making an honest mistake! And if you ever have any questions just ask. Everyone here is always willing to answer any questions you have :)
Welcome to the forum, rohebat! Shih tzus are cute little dogs. You'll find a lot of animal lovers here in the forum. My 3 dogs are Schipperkes (surprise).
Enjoy the forum!
Sportsfan is right. You won't be able to modify your profile until after you've made at least 5 posts on the forum. This is a feature of our new forum, and it keeps us from having large numbers of people registering just to post spam in their profiles. Right, Sportsfan?
and assistance everyone. That makes a lot of sense about the profile, although I’m kind of paranoid about accidentally deleting my shiny new account. You're welcome. Actually when the server first changed the only option I had was to delete my profile. I thought it was a subtle hint from Carl. :D
Hi everyone, my name is Chelsea :)
Joined a few weeks ago after months of lurking and reading some of the immortal dynasties etc. I only play WA which is a shame, but I played the Sims 1 and 2, as well as the expansion packs and the console versions. I spend too much time playing games obviously! The forum has helped a lot with actually playing the game without cheats!
Thank you for such a wonderful forum! :D
Welcome to the forum Chelsea! :)Thank you loveSims :)
Welcome to the forum :D WA is an awesome EP - I didn't realise how much I played with it until I had to uninstall it to accomodate Generations and Pets, as well as ambitions.
Hello!
My name's Leanne, I'm 20 and from London. I'm typically a forum lurker - I've been lurking here for months! I finally de-lurked myself a few days ago. A long time ago, I was very attached to a particular Sims 2 forum (mikeInside - I don't suppose anyone here was a member there years ago?), I decided I really missed the whole forum community thing, and here I am!
So, a big hello to everybody and an epic thanks to Carl, Pam and all the mods for keeping such a wonderful forum. :)
@donotrefreeze I remember Mikeinside I was probably a member of the forum, but back then I was never an active member. I do know I used to frequent the site for his building tutorials. And he had this massive glass hotel (I think it was) with trees in the middle!
A big welcome to eeeverybody who's joined since I last visited this thread! :)
I am a guy, but prefer to use women as my avatar, simply because I personally feel that the girls have more choice as far as clothing and hairstyles go, and they look alot more realistic than the men.
Welcome (at last), thesimslover828! ;)Hehe thank you very much. ;D
I probably spend as much time on here as I do playing the game
What else... I've failed two legacy runs thanks to the glitches, but i'm doing a third attempt (after some practice run with a family test), maybe I'll post here if it doesn't die by those random glitches.
Welcome to the forums. You think you can provide the link to your legacy blog?
LOL is Kerby suppose to be Kerby the video game character?
Welcome KirbyAndKat! My favorite band is Backstreet Boys. ;D
My aunt loves them! And hello to you, I love your avatar ( Mortimer fan) ;)Awesome! Thank you so much! Morty is such an awesome guy!!
Arrogance, eh?
It's a very unassuming hook, but the barb sinks deep once you bite it.Yes! When I bought the base game, I thought what's the worst that could happen? I didn't expect to like it either but thought I'd try it cause I loved Virtual Villagers and stuff like that. Well, worst thing that could happen turned out is getting so addicted and not being able to go a week without playing. ;D
My favorite band is Backstreet Boys. ;DHmm, my auntie still loves the Backstreet Boys :D I LOVE Florence + The Machine, Miami Horror and Foster The People!!! ;D
Hmm, my auntie still loves the Backstreet Boys :DThat's because they are an amazing band and will always be around! Awesome music never dies!! ;D
Hmm, my auntie still loves the Backstreet Boys :D I LOVE Florence + The Machine, Miami Horror and Foster The People!!! ;D
Welcome SIMantics, Annabob, LeviJudah and Lhb.
Good luck with your dynasty Annabob!
it only gets used for the Sims and homework...
Hi all, I finally decided that i would make my own account here. I am Twinmum's twin 2, so I've heard plenty of good things about the forum.
As my name suggests, I am in a circus, so i'm getting back into sims because of showtime, and all the circusy fun that presents.
Nice to meet you all,
circuskitty
Welcome, Simboy134! Near the top of the page you'll see Profile. Select that, then Forum Profile and there will be a box labeled Personal Text. I think that's what you want.
Hi I'm new and I just found this. LOL I Started yesterday... Sooooo can I get some help on how to get around I don't know much. It would be appreciated! Thanksdon't know what doing!!
Milly_Malcom2234
Welcome Isa. We went to a new forum not long ago and we lost the spellcheck, however, most browsers should have an inbuilt spellcheck (I know for sure that Firefox does) and should underline incorrect words.
Welcome to the forum Odie! I'm from South Africa and Afrikaans is a lot like Dutch, so I think we will understand each other. My daughter's name is Renatie! ;DYes it is! I think in Afrikaans you have several words put together to discribe one word in Dutch, which makes it sound very funny to me. Translated something like long neck (langnek) is giraffe I believe? And a brommer (moped) is a trap-mij-something? I am not really sure about this though.
Lol Odie! Yes we say giraffe. Is a brommer some kind of bicycle?Oh no, we say giraffe too. I thought it was langnek in Afrikaans hihi! And brommer is a moped. You don't have that word?
Personalized shmersonalized! The little black dogs come up with her material! :P
Welcome, heatherliz. It's nice to meet someone else who's been playing Sims since the days of Sims 2 (or in my case, since Original Sims). I hope you'll enjoy the forum!
It's portuguese. I'm from Brazil. :)
And Stiborski, what is your first language? As you can see, I am not English either ;)
Welcome to the forum Wai, Stiborski and Ztoast! :D^What she said
Hi everyone!
My name is Miriam, I'm new to the forums. :D (and also a new player of The Sims!)
You might see me commenting on stories most of the time, since I love reading. XD
Than you came to the right place. There are a lot of stories around here. Thanks! :D
Feel free to start one yourself. Have fun. :)
Welcome to the forum everyone! :) Feels like the last time I caught up with this thread was nearly 50 pages ago... :o
Welcome to the forum Miriam! :)Thank you! :D
Thank you all. I've started reading and I'm having an absolute ball! I should have joined ages ago.
Me too.
Welcome to the forum Samoht04!
Welcome everybody! So many people are joining, I'm having trouble keeping up :P
My name is LittleMissCupcake :) I've tried to join before, but for some reason my email didn't work. If you don't feel like typing out my whole name, Cake will be just fine for me!
MY NAME...I shall nevah tell, so just call me Sara (Not my real name btw). Or call me Simmy, that is my actual real life nickname. I own 16 Sims games and expansion packs all together. I have been playing the Sims since I was about 10 or 11. (About 6 years or a few years longer). I am a total Sim Addict.
As a mod, I guess I can guess your real name, (by taking a glimp at your account,) but I will remain silence. :)
If you're curious however, I am one pm away.
I know it is easy to figure out :D But I still like being called Sara. That nickname has stuck with me for years.
As you wish Sara. The only option here would be calling you 2573 but I doubt you would even responce. :P
You mean respond. :P
And that sounds like some FBI code name. Haha
With an S, got it. :P Second time on you I've made that mistake, now isn't it?
Haha, yep. It feels weird correcting a 26-year-old. And your a Moderator. ;P I used to correct my Mum on how to spell "potato" too.
I will speak to you again once you've learned another language. ;)
Me too.
Welcome to the forum Samoht04!
Haha, yep. It feels weird correcting a 26-year-old. And your a Moderator. ;P I used to correct my Mum on how to spell "potato" too.
Kind of ironic with the correcting here, aren't we? *You're ;)
Welcome Anteros, Pearl and Samoht! I've totally never seen you around, Tom. :P
Hi im Pearl19. Im new here. I have been playing Sims 3 for a while and the funny thing is i just now have found this website. I joined because i really want to talk to people on here about this game and also to ask questions on what to do when the game is having trouble. I think i could help some of you who are new to the sims 3 but it would depend on if it has happen to me or not so i will do the best i can to help.
Welcome Anteros, Pearl and Samoht! I've totally never seen you around, Tom. :P
Welcome Pearl! ;D
Wait, who are you again? :P
Welcome Aqua! And you're right about the grammar and spelling, etc. I'm new as well and this is truly a unique and exceptional forum.
Kind of ironic with the correcting here, aren't we? *You're ;)
Hehe, I can always relie on my little cute Fez girl here, to help me out. :P
You multi-talented member.
Hehe, I was wondering when you were finally going to get around to welcoming me! :P
Thanks so much to everyone for the warm welcomes! I can tell that I'll have a lot of fun on the forum and hopefully will help someone with a problem or have a new topic that will really interest people sometime. Thanks again!
Hi, I am reintroducing myself. I have not been on in acouple months and just wanted to say hi to everyone. I am back for good ;)
Hi, I am reintroducing myself. I have not been on in acouple months and just wanted to say hi to everyone. I am back for good ;)
I don't know if I can get all the names 8), so...
Welcome to the forum, everyone who is new! Welcome back, Simmer4ever!
I'm TheTripWasInfraGreen. Since that is a mouthful, feel free to give me a nickname.
I've been playing The Sims 3 since... December 2011. But I have fond memories of playing TS1 as a kid.
A warm welcome to Kim, InfraGreen, and all the other people I've missed welcoming (having gotten very behind on this thread). Enjoy your time here!
Welcome, Kim and GoldenGuy. :)
GoldenGuy has 'downgraded' himself to a guest, Fez.
Perhaps you haven't seen that.
That's happened a few times on this thread, the members decide to leave before I get here to welcome them! I didn't really know what else to say..
Oh, my post wasn't meant judging. Feel free to welcome here who you want. :)
I'm TheTripWasInfraGreen. Since that is a mouthful, feel free to give me a nickname.

Hi , Im Simmese , i've been playing the sims since TS1 and have every expansion going , but i've only just started venturing into the forum world , lol
My fave expansion for TS3 is pets because it means I can bring my three real life border collies into my game with me ... which of course makes me very happy :D
Anyway , im rubbish at these so any questions you have for me just shout :)
Hugs
Welcome to the forum, simmese! It's nice to meet another dog person and someone who's been playing Sims since the original game.
I can only imagine what it's like having 3 border collies. Those dogs are so smart, they must keep you on your toes!
I hope you'll enjoy the forum.
Welcome to the forum Simmese! :D
I love dogs aswell, I've got a beaglier name Poppy :)
I take it from your username you have a Schipperke ... ive never seen that breed in RL but they are very cute dogs
Hi everyone!
I'm Lemon_pie. I've been lurking for more than a year and finally decided to join.
Just wanted to say that I love this place - there is so many useful information here.
And the challenges! They are really fun but because I have the attention span of a butterfly, I've never finished any of them yet. :(
But I hope to tackle one soon!
Hi, I'm Luisa
I've been a lurker for quite a while now and I figured it was time to take the plunge.
I'm trying to decide what the next family I want to play will do... I tend to flit from family to family like a butterfly :) Some of the challenges look like they would be fun!
Hi Hun , Thanks for the welcome
Beagles are so sweet , and I love the name (Poppies are my favourite flower :))
Hi everyone
I've been lurking for quite a while now and I really enjoy this forum. There are a lot of very knowledgeable and helpful people on board. Thanks Carl, for providing it and all the great tutorials. Sim On folks!
Hi I just registered after "lurking" (cause that's the term others are using) for almost a year now.
I wonder what the odds are that Schipperke (or Schip as I've see others call him/her if he/she is okay with me calling him/her that) will welcome me.
Welcome SeaUnicorn. Glad to see you've made the jump over here. Thanks! Yes it was a very big jump!
Sea Unicorns can jump? Thanks so much! Maybe sea unicorns can jump but we don't know it! :P
Sorry, I just had to get that little bit of silliness out of my head. ::) ;D
Inane jokes aside, welcome to the forum, SeaUnicorn! Glad you've joined us, and I hope you enjoy your time here.
Anyway, I hope you welcome me to the forums with open arms. With that said, LET'S INVENT THE PERFECT APPLIANCE!
I'm actually a console forum member..but(happy dance) I just installed Sims 3 on my laptop! So I am officially a PC simmer, hooray! I haven't posted in awhile because I am spending twice as much on my computer than I did on the Xbox. When I first started playing I was like, wow I can add body hair?? I can buy my sim a deep fryer?? And there is no freaking fire meter? I am in sim heaven :) And this is only with the base game. I can't imagine what's going to happen if I get expansion/stuff packs.
Welcome, ekobeko! I love your name - saying it out loud (the way I'm guessing it might be pronounced) makes me smile.
Enjoy the forum!
How did you pronounce it? And thanks!
Hi Im saas513 and I am a newbie to Sims are any gaming for that matter
'Lo! I'm Rose, a fairly new simmer. My internet connection is a bit dubious at the moment, so I'm hoping that this gets through.
Anyways, the most curious thing about me is that I got addicted to this forum before I even had Sims. See, it's a long story, but I was browsing through TvTropes one day and found a link to their Sims page. From there, I was led to the Sims Wiki, and from there I found an advertisement for this forum. And that was when I started begging for the game for Christmas.
Not much else to say 'cept that I'm attempting a legacy right now and that I talk too much. ;)
I'm sort of late with introducing my self, but hi! I'm Posidem, Nephew of the mighty sea god Poseidon! ;D I just started an Immortal Dynasty challenge and if you wanna take a look, here's the link! http://www.carls-sims-3-guide.com/forum/index.php/topic,11058.0.html Anyways, I hope I get along with everyone here! :D
Welcome to the forum, Jessie! Something tells me that when it comes to nice people, you'll fit right in with them. :)
I hope you enjoy your time here.
Wow, Nice people are so common in the Carl's and Pam's Sims 3 Forum!
I already think this is a lovely place ::)
Welcome to the drum Rose, Posiden,StarHopper and Jessie! ;D
The drum? ;)lol Fez! I was typing without my glasses! ;D
lol Fez! I was typing without my glasses! ;D
Welcome back to the forum, Priyansh! I'm glad you got your PC issue worked out.
I'm Napoleonwrasse (like the fish). I love the sims been playing since sim safari and sim ant. I mostly build. Lately I've been in a bit of a historically accurate victorian fix. So, very time consuming and challenging.

Hiya! Everyone here can call me Booskie or DC, I joined this forum in search of more enlightening techniques of improving my Sims experience, as well as getting some new ways to improve the fun level of the Sims 3. I'm looking forward to meeting new people here. :)
Welcome all new comers. I am sending a shout out from St. Maarten in the Netherlands. I'm here for the first time with my kids and grandmother. I'm going to take the time I'm not at the beach to catch up on my Simming. Haven't had much time with work
So I was starting by checking in with my Sim family. 8)
Hi!
I was looking here almost half year before I decided to join! :D Yep, too long to decide! :P
Uhm, as you know, I'm Norwegian and English is my third language after Norwegian Sign Language and Norwegian, so sorry for my incorrect English grammar sometimes xD
Why, hello. I am Dr. Evulz, but please, call me your Undeniable King and Ruler for short. ;DHi, Dr. Evulz, and welcome to the forum! I love your name! And I agree, TS3 is awesome!
I started playing the Sims 3 on PS3, but now that I have a better computer, I play it on there. I absolutely love it and I'm thinking of making a legacy or dynasty soon. I've always enjoyed this website and am happy to be part of the forum.
Welcome DarthCookie!
The people here are really very helpful and very nice.
I love it here. ;D
World Peace.
I can see that the people are nice and helpful here, I'm looking forward to growing into the community even more.
Welcome to the forum, furryjackal! I hope you enjoy yourself here.No worries. It's an anime term for their gay fiction/anime. I use it because my males tend to lean more towards that anime 'prettiness' in style, more often than not, versus just 'gay sims'
Pardon my ignorance, but what are "yaoi Sims hoods"?
Welcome to the forum, furryjackel! I too, have a penchant for whimsey, so I naturally went out on a whim and bought Katy Perry Sweet Treats, at Target, the day it came out! Normally I prefer digital, but the Sweet treats was $18, which was a huge deal, over the original $30! I still overlap between TS2 and TS3, because I just couldn't part with TS2. It's the only other game I play besides TSM.I'm not the only one that liked that pack! I'm so glad! YAY! I saw it and thought "Awww isn't that cute?" I'm still needing to sit down and build my gingerbread house! But I pepper things into my homes here and there, too!
Welcome to the forum, nicstriumph! I can see the completed dynasties with your name on them!
Welcome, Jamie and Nicky! I hope you'll enjoy your time here.
Hi I'm Christy/zipzin and I started playing sims when they first came out, though I mostly watched. I played a lot with Sims 2 but Sims 3 really established my love for the series. I usually play in spurts, were I'll play a ton for a couple of weeks and then put it down for a couple of months and repeat. I'm looking to change that! ;D
I found the guide while I was looking up whether I should buy Showtime or not and that led me to the forum. This all seems awesome and I hope I can become a part of the community here.
*waves* Thought I'd post here and introduce myself. I've visited this forum many times before as a guest and found it full of lots of neat tips and good advice. Look forward to being a part of it!
Hi there,
new here and came to find out some tips and answers to some questions, and hopefully can help others!
Ice cream
Hi. Glad I'm not the only one who plays.
Hey Im bschro101 my bff calls me that without the 101! For some reason, I find this so much more helpful than the original Sims 3 Forum. (IDK why though?) Well, bye? :-\ ;D
Hi everyone...
I registered awhile ago and have just been lurking around the site and forums and figured it was time to unlurk and start participating with you all here. Not sure what to say, other than that I've been simming for a really long time since the original "The Sims" game came out many, many moons ago. I really enjoy playing legacies and sharing different lots and sims that I've created.
I'm always looking for friendly sites and this one fits the bill. ;)
I'm Will and live in Los Angeles. Every time I searched for anything Sims 3 related, this site was always near or at the top of results so I just decided to join. Been playing the Sims games since 2000. This community seems very cordial and that's always refreshing.
Hello, I'm Swirl-Girl, I don't use the official forum because me and my sister share the simming computer, I don't know if she's already made an account or what. Yo can call me SG if you'd prefer. I've played all of the sims games, but don't exactly recall the original sims. I've used the official guide before.Welcome! Yay I am 11 to!
I like Harry Potter, and several other book series. I am 11, with a birthday scheduled on Nov. 8th.
Welcome to the forum, Vanillin! I hope you enjoy your stay here!Thank you. :)
Hi! I'm Alex. I've only been playing Sims since last December, when I decided to get the base game as a Christmas present to myself. :) Now that I've played it, I'm regretting never playing the previous games.Welcome to the forum, Alexrandia! Glad that you are a part of this wonderful forum :D
I don't have any stuff packs, but I've got World Adventures, Ambitions, Pets, and Showtime. I'm waiting for Late Night, Generations, and Supernatural to go on sale (at some point). I'm especially looking forward to try being a fairy in Supernatural. And I haven't had Showtime long enough to get a genie, but I think that will be a lot of fun.
I will add you as a friend no matter what, but I'm particularly looking for Showtime friends to share the Simport. My username is the same as on here: Alexrandia.
Happy Simming everybody!
Edit: I omitted a punctuation mark. See? Perfectionist. (Some might even say Neurotic.) *sigh* ::)
I'm an Animal Lover, too
Welcome Swirl-Girl, Lydia and Alex! :)
Welcome Lydia, Alex and Tantara! Hope you find your stay good! :)Thanks. :)
Hello everyone on this forum! I'm new, a guy called SecretBoy, I started playing The Sims 2 on my DS but then played on the PC and I loved it!
I apologize for so much but I thought MY story would sound a lot more interesting with the important details.
Welcome Cathair1.
We are all fellow Simmers. And it is waay cool. Hope you find all the answers here. So far I have not had a question that either someone else had or that there was an answer. Unlike other places I've visited, any of the moderators are available if you need even the smallest bit of assistance.
Hope you find a happy home here as well.
Hi Cathair! Welcome! :) (PS I'm a fellow [half] Italian)
Welcome, Cathair! I like your user name. ;)
Thanks for the welcoming! I haven't even thought of going to the Sims 3 online forum because I found this one first and everbody here says it's a lot easier to get an answer and find threads here rather than there :)
all my google searches seemed to lead here, so this must be the best, right?
Hello. So where to begin. I used to have an account here, VampirePlasma. Anyone remember? Doubt it. But I decided to leave because of personal issues, that had nothing to do with this forum. But Im better now and decided to join again. I missed you all, a lot. I sure hope Im welcomed back. But pretty much all you need to know is, Paramore, NeverShoutNever and Sleeeping with Sirens = Life.

How do you change your profile in the forum?
Thanks, SeaUnicorn, I love yours!Thank you so much! I miss my sims doing yoga too!
One of the only things I truly miss about Sims 2 is the ability for my sims to do yoga! I keep hoping an expansion will bring it back, but sadly, it hasn't happened yet...
Maybe you'll feel inspired to try an Immortal Dynasty or a Decadynasty too.
"hitting it off well enough to call someone a friend is spiffy"
Hi, I'm Dextra2! But you can call me Dex! I got Sims3 about.... a few months ago, and found this website by googleing 'sims3 cheat codes'. Crime DOES pay. ;DThat was how I found this forum to!
Or about my doggies. It's always especially nice to welcome another dog lover to the forum. I hope you'll enjoy your time here.
Happy belated welcome, SadieHamming! I am sure that you are enjoying this forim! Thanks. I really should have stumbled on this sooner :P I spend a bit too much time here ::)
Ummm...welcome Sadie! And, thank you for reading my stories! ;)Thanks, and your welcome :)
Hi there, I'm a longtime lurker on the forum and love reading the stories. I'm looking forward to get to know everyone. :)
Sheesh, I am gone for 1 day and I miss this many people? Well, welcome to forum everyone I have missed! I hope you enjoy this amazing forum, it really is a wonderful forum.
Well I guess I should introduce myself.......Y'all can call me wild. I am married and have 3 beautiful daughters. I am a stay-at-home/homeschooling mom in Southern Texas. My brother got me hooked on the first sims game and I have played off and on since I started. The Sims 3 has me hooked all over again and I do believe with all these challenges, I will stay hooked this time. Carl, this site and these forums are awesome. Kudos to you on all your hard work getting all this written up and posted for us to use as we need it. My game play is so much richer for having used many of the tips and guides on this site.
TTFN.......time to go play my glade legacy some more!
wildredchild
Hi Wild! Im a homeschooling mom too (just starting out this year) my daughter wanted sims for her birthday last year and now I play it more than anyone! I just got showtime and am playing a singer. We have Pets on xbox and sims 3 on wii. My PC game is my newest version, I'm looking forward to all the expansions!
I was a little surprised to see a quote from wildredchild as she hasn't been around much lately.Same here. but it's good to know she inspired you to join, Karenasmm. Welcome!
As for my personality, I'm 26, animal-mad and have a slightly warped sense of humour.
Thanks very much and I look forward to getting more involved in the sims community. :)
...
I'm not sure how I feel about the online aspect to the game, unlike most people I live way out in the country and my internet is definitely slower than in-town DSL and these patches and stuff sometimes wreak havoc. Like today, I am installing a patch for the third time...it takes over an hour to download and if I don't download it, the computer thinks I am trying to do something I shouldn't. It's frustrating. But I do love the game and can play hours at a time...
Welcome to the forum, Rhapsody! And thanks very much to Seabody for sharing the information about Challenges and Projects.
From what you've told us about yourself, I think you'll fit in very well here! ;) I hope you enjoy your time here.
Welcome to this Forum, Mermaidgirl47. I live in a 'forgotten' patch of the land, too. This sounds so familiar to me. If anything, it helps to play off-line. Still, I'm sure, that you will have a great time here, and come to love this community as much as I have. :D
*clears throat nervously*
Hi, my name is Pam. I'm also known as Spoop in the blogging world. The Sims 3 is my first experience with the Sims franchise and I absolutely love it! I've completed the Legacy Challenge recently and I'm still playing my legacy family, but without the legacy restrictions. I also just built my own house in The Sims 3, which was totally awesome. I wasn't very good at building when I started, but I'm getting much better.
I'm a global moderator here on Carl's Forum and I also help out with the guides over on the main page. Carl and I are both very excited about everyone who is joining the forum and participating in the discussions.
Erm, ok... I guess that's it.
Hi everyone! I've been a lurker on this forum for a long time and I'm glad to finally be a member.
Hey everyone! You all know me as ZapKid. Well, I haven't been posting as much as I'd like to have been, and also didn't because my old account was too cluttered and spread out. To change that, I made a new account (With a much better name. :P) I plan to get back into it, with a new home building schedule/system and stuff like that. I can't wait to start again! :D
...Of course, first I need to get to 5 posts. Any idea how I can do that? I've already posted on most of this forum.
I'm a long time MMO gamer, starting with UO in 1995. I roleplay in MMOs - I love "becoming" my character. I also love BioWare single-player RPGs. I am in love with John Shepard from Mass Effect. No, I am not ashamed of that fact. :P
How I got started with The Sims is because one of the writers of Dragon Age posted that she had made a Sims 3 household with the characters she was working on (this was before release) and some funny stuff happened.
Hello Everyone !! Just wanted to say Hi *waves*
Welcome to the forum, Cedia!
I didn't realize one of the Dragon Age writers played Sims 3! Do you happen to remember which one?
Since you're a fan of Bioware, have you tried The Old Republic? I played it for a few months, and they had some very cool stories. (I particularly like the Agent stories, though I liked them all) There isn't a free trial that I'm aware of, (though I think it's going Free to Play) but if you have the money, it's worth trying out, if you're interested in the story aspect of MMOs.
Sweet! Found this place after I Googled 'Sims 3 spawners'. What an awesome place! I'm a writer and I love playing/creating on Sims 3 to relax. I can't wait to dive in!!!!!
Thanks for the welcomes! :) Yup, I'm a writer. Readers? There are readers here?
Welcome to the forum, Magpie! I too like your username, and it's also nice to meet another dog person. I hope you'll enjoy the forum. :)
In SA a schipperke is a tiny dog like a yorkshire terrier, is that also true where you are from Schipperke? It really is a pleasure meeting all you nice people on the forum!

You are fom South Africa? I am too! ;D
Do your Schipperkes look like the one in the picture to the left? That's James, one of my gang. :)
Not quite like your dog but very hairy. he's a beauty your dog!!!
Hello, have been playing Sims since well forever...Going to be a grandma in a few weeks really looking forward to that adventure :)...
Hello Everyone !! Just wanted to say Hi *waves*
Kal El? Kal El, aka Clark Kent aka Superman? Welcome to the forum! And 'hi' from me back! :)
Thanks for the welcomes! :) Yup, I'm a writer. Readers? There are readers here?
Good morning, all - I'm Kim from Michigan and after months of reading these boards for advice and stories (may I just say WOW to Pam, Schipperke and Metropolis Man? WOW.)
Welcome, ladyaya. I think I may have welcomed you before, but no matter - twice welcome!
Good luck with your Dynasty when you're ready to start. :)
Welcome to the Forum! (I'm rather new myself :P) And good luck on whatever stories you may be writing in the future!
New to the board not new to the sims.. I see alot of very smart people here who offer alot of help.. It seems like i can find any answers I need here
Welcome to the forum, Alyse and Amy. I hope you'll both enjoy your time here.
Er, hello. My inner pre-teen wants to greet everyone with emoticons...but I won't.
Anyway my name's lepapillonrouge, rouge for short. Over the summer, my roommate said she had the Sims 3, I played it ...and now I've gotten totally addicted. I have three expansion packs (Ambitions, Pets, and Supernatural) with Late Night hopefully on the way. I joined because I wanted a place to write a dynasty story, and to meet people who played sims too (because I think all my friends + boyfriend are sick of playing/talking about Sims). Before Sims, I normally did forum roleplaying and attempted game-making and supposedly I'm a Nanowrimo participant but the midterm I should be studying for + inspiration for a new legacy got in the way.
Nice to meet you all!
Welcome to the forum Rogue! Is your name french, for something like the red papillon? Like a red papillon the dog breed? Papillons are cute.....Anyways, Welcome again, I hope you like our wacky forums, and I hope to look at your dynasties/llegacies that you write and post here someday. :)
Yes, my username's French haha. Papillon in french means butterfly, so it means 'the red butterfly'. Although this is the first time that someone's brought up the dog breed with regards to my name before...haha
If you're new to the forum and want to introduce yourself, feel free to do so here!I am a long time Simmer, since 1999. I have made objects for Sims 1 for many years. Recently got started with Sims 3 after watching my son build a house. I do love the building aspect....just wish I could make objects :'(
Hi all :) I didn't know what to do so I figured I'd go here, to the forum I mean. Well, I have a question. Today when I started my Sims, I noticed the white patches(?) on the sides of some of my custom houses...is anybody else getting these and if so how do you get rid of them???
Glad to join this great forum, just want to make some new friends here.
I'm from New York City, btw. If you have any questions, just shoot me a PM. :)
If I'm not post in the right board, please remove this thread. Cheers.
Hello everyone. I am a long time lurker and finally decided I'd introduce myself. I live in Kentucky with my husband, son, and two miniature schnauzers. I have all expansion packs and am comfortable saying that I'm addicted to Sims!
Welcome Lorien, there's nothing wrong with becoming a devoted simmer. Join us! ;)
I'm always happy when fellow Aussies join the forum ;D welcome Silviak!
Hi I'm Crystal. Obviously. I've been cruising this forum for a long time but only recently joined. I think this is a good site with lots of support for newbies. I like the advice and I love the stories and it's FREE!
hi everyone!
i've been lurking for a while, and decided to sign up because i want to take part in the challenges this year!
I'm from Denmark so english isn't my first language. It's funny how a language can be easy to read and understand but the moment you have to express yourself in it you discover how limited a vocabulary you have and how you know absolutly nothing of the correct grammar:) I hope my posts makes sense despite the grammar and language issues. If not please let me know and I'll try to clarify.
I used to be TheTripWasInfraGreen. And today, I realized that deleting my account because I failed a dynasty was a terrible idea.
So a day's leave. How nice.

Welcome to the forum Keoni and SimNike.
I never had the opportunity to play Sims Online and was always intrigued. But couldn't leave the offline game long enough to try. I always opted to spend my money on the regular game.
Welcome Bee, Danielle, TheZenPhoenix, Keoni and SimNike! Enjoy your time on the best Simming forum around!
Hi there!
I'm Mixu! I'm a long time visitor to Pam and Carl's Sims 3 page and decided to join the forum today! I absolutely LOVE everyone's stories! I was enthralled for like 3 days with all the different challenges and impressed at how creative and supportive everyone on the Forums is so here I am!
I'd like to try my first Sims 3 challenge and my first Sims 3 Story line. (is that what we call it?) I'm a long time Sims player and even longer time story teller I just never really realized you could put the two together so well! (Yeah not my brightest moment)
So, naturally, I have a few questions and if all of these are answered on another part of the Forum feel free to kick me over to where I belong (With my apologies of course >.<)
-From what I understand, players refer to themselves as "Watchers" and are (sometimes) omnipotent and in charge of their sims. Easy enough.. am I off by much on that? lol
-Are there any challenges that would be easier then others or best to complete for someone first starting?
-Is there a section where we're allowed to just freely play and write out the story of our sims or is it only for Challenges?
-(this is a random one) I've never (confession) let my sims die before. The extent of my play is to have an immortal God that can do anything cause I spent 90 hours doing everything on them, hence why I'm so eager for something new. Has anyway else done this? And was playing through generations of your sims family more enjoyable?
-Lastly, any random tips for a new comer? :)
Thanks, hope to hear back from some of you! :)
Welcome Mixuneko! Enjoy the challenges. If you aren't fond of letting your sims die, try an Immortal Dynasty or a Lifestates Dynasty. You need to keep your founders and heirs alive for the whole game, but the rest of the family dies off. You get the best of both worlds! Anna, I couldn't have said any of the rest any better myself.
Welcome Mixu!
My, I don't think i've commented in this thread since I introduced myself way back whenever it was.
The term Watchers actually comes from The Sims Medieval. How people play as a Watcher is up to them in any game they play, and any story they write.
There are Miscellaneous Challenges here, (http://www.carls-sims-3-guide.com/forum/index.php/board,37.0.html) plus some people like to start out hard with something like the Immortal Dynasty Challenge. Others still like Legacies.
The Miscellaneous (http://www.carls-sims-3-guide.com/forum/index.php/board,29.0.html) and Legacy (http://www.carls-sims-3-guide.com/forum/index.php/board,30.0.html) boards are generally where people post whatever Sim stories they want.
I personally have never done so, although others might have. I like to play through generations, it gives me a chance to see what sims appear from story progression, and what the descendants look like.
None that I can think of for the moment, but there are threads that have hints and tips for Legacies, the different Dynasties, and other threads that ask and answer questions.
Just look around for something to read, or start your own story, or even just ask for help with problems or things you don`t understand. We`re generally a friendly bunch, and I hope to see you around the forums one day. :)
~Anna
Hello everyone, I'm maddy. I've been playing the Sims since the beginning, probably first played it when I was 4 or 5, though it didn't interest me much (I played Everquest, so the "character creation" was really lacking for me.) I started playing the Sims 2 around release, got a few expansions for Christmas, and then got all the EPs from a friend when 3 came out. ;D Right now I have all the EPs for Sims 3 and I typically play on and off for a month or so at a time. I'm not really into stories and stuff, but I enjoy reading other people's stories and reading about their experiences with the game. Figured I might as well introduce myself and try some challenges while I'm here.Welcome :)
Oh, here's the Intro thread.
I'm SimAd and I am a Sims player. Or something like that. :-)
I have been playing since 2004. I was just a 4 year old back then and me and my 14 year old cousin found the first The Sims. We didn't know what to do but then another cousin who was also 14 year old taught us. In 2006 I bought The Sims 2 but I couldn't install it, so I kept on playing The Sims until 2009. Then the second 14 year old cousin bought me The Sims 3, and I have been playing since. I have played The Sims 2 after playing The Sims 3. I still have me old The Sims 2 discs :P
Hi, I'm simlover16! I have all EPs and a little bit of store content. After reading Pam's Townie DecaDynasty, I was inspired to join the forum. Charms was by far my favorite! I found it by looking for cheats... :) I loved her writing and her adorable Sims! I'm a little confused about how the forum works, so answers would be appreciated. I have two questions:
How do you start a new post? Do you have to be a registered member? I'm starting an Immortal Dynasty and I'd like to share it on the forum. I've read "Help" and I can't find the "new post" button.
If you have to be a member, how do you become one? I've read the "Help" on this too, but it didn't help me that much.
Sorry if I posted this in the wrong place or didn't do this right, I just need answers.
Welcome Sparks and Emma! We do have a lot of challenges and projects here, some more casual than others. The Projects Board (http://www.carls-sims-3-guide.com/forum/index.php/board,37.0.html) might be a good place to start, if you don't want to jump right into the Tournament challenges.
Hi there, I am Elena from UK, have already posted a few replies under other threads but thought I might as well put an introduction here?
I have all EPs/SPs and a few store items. I am really loving the game thanks to the help of this great website, without your strategies I couldn't go that far.
I also quite like the challenges provided here but play them mostly unofficially - I am not an expert and my PC is not quite competent sometimes.
I am currently working on an immortal dynasty in an unofficial way, and I am not sure if it is possible to post story as I am not going after HOF.
However, since English is not my native language, I don't think I'm capable of writing good stuff so never mind.
I like to read stories of other people. Any suggestion would be welcome.
Looks like no one has answered to my question about ambition EP yet, but that's okay, I find the glitch quite mysterious anyway...
Hi Simanda. I played Sims 3 when it first came out but then real life took me away. I just recently loaded Sims up a couple months ago and I'm still making a mess of my sims life and trying to build nice houses.
Welcome to the forum Amanda! :)
Hello. I use InvenTeck as my name because it combines two of my former professions, Inventory Manager and Electronic Technician. But I like to go by Teck.Welcome to the forum, Teck! I too feel like I have a second family and friendship group here on the forum. It is like a close-knit community of people who share a love of The Sims. I'm also a bit of an idiot when it comes to technical issues, although I can find solutions to simple technical problems. It will be nice to have you around.
I joined after reading many posts and getting a sense of community that feels like family.
I got back into Sims 3 after I purchased a new computer earlier this year, (not just for sims, but it helps :D)
I know I will enjoy being here.
Welcome Tazz and Jess! Enjoy the forum. :)
Welcome Kevin! And yes it is against the rules but its against the rules if you mean to do it in a bad way, which you obliviously don't. I did the same thing (forgot old account). I just PMed Pam and she deleted it for me. But I remembered my old User. So I don't know how you would PM her not knowing the user. I would just mention it to her in PM and say you forgot the user. She probably wont mind :)
Hellooo :)
My sister recommended this site to me and I'm glad she did because this is my favourite Sims 3 forum and I love all the challenges you guys do ;)
Welcome to the forum, Lemon! Is your sister a member here, too, or does she just read along from the sidelines? :DShe's a member here. :)
She's a member here. :)
Her account is sunshine_2406
That's me ;)
Ah-ha! I didn't recognize the name, but I do know that avatar. Glad to see you've converted yet anothervictimmember. :D
Welcome Melanie! You will fit in very well, we are all simaholics. :P Enjoy the forum!
Hi, I am Qtzlady (quartz lady). Nice to meet you all. I am a real newbie to Sims 3. I used to play the original Sims game years ago. I was an avid player & knew that game inside and out. I never played Sims 2 much. But recently I decided to give Sims 3 a go. I just started playing the game & I am embarrassed to say that I am being stymied by the most basic things. I am sure that the more I play the better it will get, but it is a bit frustrating & overwhelming at the moment. Thanks in advance for all of the help that I know this site will provide.

Welcome to the forum bunso!
Welcome to the forum Bunso! I agree, everyone behind this forum is really great and we owe them so much.
Comon snala?
I'm David, and I came here specifically because I love the Townie makeover thread. And now I'm getting into the Children born to Townies thread.
Welcome to the forum Loon! That's a very long wait to finally get your hands on a game!
Welcome to the forum!! Are you planning on posting any stories on here?
Oh yes, I am. I currently have about three different dynasty files going, and I'm going to see about posting the official cheat-free one I'm doing once it actually gets moving.
Hello Carl/Pam. I was wondering are you allowed to post legacy stories on here? Because I'm reading through the 'Children born to original townies' forum at the moment, and I'm interested in posting about my uglacy. :P
Hey there folks! I'm Nancy and I'm 23 years old. I'm from Holland and I live together with my boyfriend and my two cats (One of almost two and a kitten of four months old, respectively.) I've been been a proud simmer since 2002, started with the Sims 1 and have played almost every other game in the franchise (Save for most of the console versions and the facebook/phone game.)
I've been browsing the forum as a guest for a few weeks now, but when I spotted the townie make-over section I just had to register so I can contribute. I'm a hairdresser in real life so it's almost an obsession for me to run sims through the make-over process. ;D I've also been reading a couple of the Dynasty stories which I enjoy very much. I have a mind of trying one myself some day but I've been hesitant since I'm fairly inseparable from my mods. ::)

Welcome back to the forum Sierra! To edit your profile you need five posts and then it will become pretty much obvious. Carl wanted only legitimate members to put websites in their profile so it must have just been easier to remove the profile ability completely for members with less than five posts.
Welcome to the forum princess!
Hello simmers, I was looking at this site before buying The Sims 3 game, this site fascinated me a lot that I bought the game. Then I created an account so I can talk with you all.*waves* Hi. Welcome to the forum. And you are not the only asian in this forum. I am also an asian. I am from India. And I think there are couple more asians in the forum. And the forum/american time zone is direct opposite of asian time zone. So, most of the american members stay offline while we are online. So it takes time for them to reply. Have a nice day and nice time in the forum.:)
Am I the only asian member in this forum? Because whenever I post something in my daytime, I have to wait for next day to get the reply lol. Have a nice day!
Hi, I am new here. I'm a simmer in my forties and found sims in 2011. I've used this site a lot, thank you all for all of your hard work!
Hello all! I'm new to this forum but not to the Sims. I've been playing since the good old Sims 1 days. :D I'm excited to check out the forums and meet new people. Seems like a great community around here. :)
Hi, I am new to the forum. I have had the Sims 3 for a few years but I recently started playing again and have discovered a lot more fun ways to play and am having a blast reading the helpful site here and the forum. Thanks for making such a neat site :)
Hi, I'm Andrew. Been playing Sims since the first one. Also, Simcity. I've owned all of the titles at one point. atxdrew is my un in game as well.
;) Hi, I'd like to introduce myself... I'm Tina... and I'd like to say this site has been such help for me. I probably wouldn't have even played Sims 3 if it had not been for this site. I'm hooked.. ;D ...
Hello world!
My name is Callum and I am 16 years old. I play Sims 3 on my laptop and don't have any expansion packs. I am really looking forward to the release of Sims 4 because I would like to see how much the emotions actually effects the actions made available to you, and how much detail you can go in with the Create-A-Sim.
How are you guys?
Thanks! Anything specific you looking forward to? :)
I've lurked around enough, I suppose I should actually introduce myself. :)
I bought The Sims 3 a couple of years ago with the intention of trying to get my wife into games (and therefore give me more time for my FPS's and MMO's), but she just isn't meant to play computer games, I suppose. So, the game sat on the shelf gathering dust for a few years.
Fast forward to just over a month ago. I was in a gaming funk, tired of the same old same old (found it hard to play games where the sole focus is to kill things), so I decided, what the heck, let's install this game and see if I can get into it. Well, thanks to few few well (or poorly?) timed sales at Origin and other sites, I now sit with all EP's, save Supernatural (which is currently on sale at Amazon, so this might be incorrect by this evening) and Showtime. I find myself enjoying this game more than I have any other game since the heyday of Everquest.
I think I'll leave it at that for now, lest I max out my writing skill with this just post. :P
Hello, my name is Paige. I love The Sims, as it is so giant in the ideas of story telling and customization. Carl's guide really helped me out. Without it, I would be so confused right now. I love Immortal Dynasties and other stories, but I probably will not make one.
Anyway, nice to meet you all!

Welcome to the forum Luna and simmergeek. I hope you both have fun here on the forum.
Hi everyone,
I've played the sims since Pets Unleashed first came out. And over the years have collected all the original games, then I got all of the Sims 2 EPs and SPs. And right now, I have most of the EPs and a few of the SPs for TS3. I adore TS3 and there is no comparison. I'm excited about TS4 but will wait til it has some expansions before I start getting into that franchise.
But the -real- reason I am posting is because I'm an on again/off again player of TSM (Medieval) and wanted to thank Carl and his troops for keeping the forum archived and all the tips online. (I sometimes send a paypal donation on another account because of this site's usefulness for TSM). Thank you so much!
TSM isn't my favorite Sims game but time and again, sometimes I want to hack and slash at the achievements and try new ideas for game play. TSM runs and loads pretty fast and nearly without a glitch on my laptop, so the fact that its so portable makes it a lot of fun for me.
Thank you, for the Carls Sim 3 guide! This was the only way I could think of sharing my joy of the TSM archives.
Happy Simming!
Veranna
Hello. I have been using this guide for quite some time now. I just love it. If I am unsure of how to do something, I Google it and it always leads me here. I would really like to find some Simmer friends. I have played since the beginning. I just love the game. I usually make a family and try and raise all those kids I have. Currently, I have 5 and plan on one more. So much fun! My username on Sims3 is sarahajones. My neice set up the account for me and used her name. Oops. Anyway, I am glad to join the forum and hope to make a few friends here.
Thanks. I have added you as a friend. I see your as addicted to the game as I am. Love to just sit and play.
was thinking of trying one of the challenges or the dynasty. Hummm, which one first?
Hi everyone!
I am Ally or more commonly known (by some people!) as MaximumSimmer on YT.
I love the SIMS and would love to learn lots and what I should do before I start playing on the 25-27th December as I will start with a live stream.
My channel link is : http://youtube.com/user/maximumsimmer
My email of business : maximumsimmer@gmail.com
My email for fan contact etc. : maximumsimmerfanmail@gmail.com
my website : http://i-m.co/allybalsims/MaximumSimer ;D 8)
I am currently on a self made challenge right now so I will wait for the next one to come out. As for the Dynasty, I did some reading on it. Sounds fun so that I will give a try.
A little bit about me:
I've been playing this series for a very long time, since 2000. I was a great fan of the first two games, and I bought TS3 the day it came out (making a two hour round trip for the collectors edition, haha), but somehow I never got into it as much. I missed a lot of the things from TS2, I didn't really like the way the Sims themselves looked, and I had a lot of glitches and weirdness in the unpatched base TS3. Plus, I was busy with college, and I started playing another game... I still had TS3 installed on my computer, but I didn't play it very often.
When Pets came out, I started to play more often. A few months after that, Best Buy ran a buy one get one free sale, so I bought all of the expansions, and since then I've been playing a whole lot more. I really, really enjoy this game, and I even like how the Sims look now. But I still haven't done a lot of things in the game, and I find myself Googling a lot. Often it brings me to this site, and so I decided to go ahead and register. :)
Hi
My name is readingpuppies because I love to read and I adore puppies so yeah.
Hi

Hi, I'm 'Playalot'
I guess my username says it all really. Since finally trying The Sim3 base game just over a year ago I have become hooked! I now have played all of the EP's except Supernatural. I guess I've 'lurked' around here for about a year and would like to sincerely thank everyone involved with making such a wonderful, informative (and fun) site. I think that without all the information I have found here I would have missed many of the more entertaining elements of play for sure! As well as being able to find answers to frustrating problems.
Boy do I love Sims!
P.S. Carl it was your little banner thing that finally made me register! I guess I haven't really anything to say on a forum but I just wanted to express my thanks for all your hard work :)
Hi, I'm Sydney. I've been playing the Sims franchise ever since the original Sims came out for PC! :D
I love everything there is about sims. The gameplay, making sims, creating houses, etc. I just love it all.
Okay, I dunno what else to say lol.
Welcome to the forum, Diandre! I hope you enjoy yourself here. :DThank you Audren :D
Hi Everyone.
My name is Jacqueline. I'm from Ireland and have played the sis since the first game. I love it. Just wanted to say I love the site it has been my main source of Sims info for many months now. I regret it has taken me this long to register and say hi.
So this is me saying HI and thanks for running a great site and forum.
Uh Uh Hi,
I'm Midna's Meow and I like cats like a lot a lot (hence Meow) and the legend of zelda (hence Midna). Well another thing considering i'm here right now I also love sims. Uh I don't really know what else to say about myself. I'm pretty shy but also love friends. So yeah
Hi
Welcome to the forum, MidnasMeow :)
I'm also a shy person in the real world. I know legend of Zelda but I only familiar with Zelda and Link alone, lol. But, don't worry you'll get friend here soon there many people who love the same things, The Sims. Hope that you enjoy your stay :)

Hi Five for finding this thread through meeting the guide and forum staff ;D My name is Kay and at the time of this post I'm in my early twenties. I live in Toronto and I've been using this guide since.. Well it's been a long while :)
Hi everyone!
My name is Megan and I'm a self-proclaimed foodie, dog person, coffee lover, and avid simmer. Way back when, my cousin bought me The Sims Deluxe Edition for Christmas and I've been hooked ever since. I never got a chance to play The Sims 2 because my family's computer graphics card couldn't handle it, but I bought myself a laptop after I graduated high school a couple years ago and found myself going from zero with the original Sims to sixty with The Sims 3. I knew next to nothing, and since The Sims 3 has a level of complexity and depth my old Sims game didn't have, I needed help. I discovered Carl's Sims 3 Guide and it made the task of learning about traits, moodlets, Lifetime Wishes, etc. less daunting and more manageable. Admittedly, I was a lurker on the forum before coming out of hiding and making an account. I actually discovered the forum through the challenges and Pam's dynasty stories on the guide website.
I don't have all of the expansion or stuff packs, but I have a few: Ambitions, Generations, Pets, Supernatural, Seasons, and Master Suite. Due to college, I don't have as much time to play The Sims 3 as I would like, but I manage to fit in a couple hours of simming in between studying. :)
Hey all! sobadnomad here. Just got into sims 3 again on the Xbox and finally got around to installing my year old copy of Sims 3 on my PC! Wish me luck!
Anyways, I found this forum by searching New Sunset Valley the other day and had the feeling that it's a great forum. Though I made some negative experiences with the Sims 3 community, I hope and wish that everything's alright here. ♥ It really seems so up to now. ♥
Hi there,
just realized that the Forum has a longtime and popular member named "Seabody". Ops. I hope my own username doesn't seem like a impolite copy of it. (Duh, I'm so neurotic. Sorry.)
"Seablah" is just a combination of two words. During the forum registration, and for some reason, I was thinking about my city Seattle and had so much going on in my head that everything messed up in a whole blah blah. So the name Seablah was born. Smart, I know. ::)

Heh, when I saw one of your posts I thought I was going a little mad. ;) But it doesn't seem like an impolite copy. :)
Welcome to the forum!
Welcome, Lada!
Yes, I love the design aspects of the game, too - what my sister half-seriously calls "dolly dress-up". I have learned so much already from Carl's site - anything you want to do in-game, someone probably has some solid advice. Also, I find that this is a friendly and mature forum, which at my age I certainly appreciate.
Sounds like you have a very full and fulfilling life! Enjoy your Simming, when you find time for it. :D
Hi! many thank yous to Carl for manually registering me for the forums.
I've lurked and used the resource here many a time but never participated. I'd like to change that now ;)
I've been playing sims since TS1. I got into sims fandom on LJ with TS2, where I was a moderator of thesims2 for years and had what I thiiiiiiiiink was one of the first sims story blogs on there. Unfortunately the pictures are all down since my old web host went down... maybe one day I'll restore it, haha.
I play TS3 on and off but I love it a lot. My favorite town is Twinbrook (I LOVE the feel of it, the houses are SO SO great, the swampy fogginess is great... I love it so much!) and it's where I play my main family, the Rosarios. I don't really use any CC aside from store downloads because I hate waiting for everything to load, I like the look of the game as is, and Create A Style provides much more versatility than you'd think.
Anyway, I quite look forward to sharing my Sims. off to read a few posts now :)
P
Welcome to the forum, patronissimo! Twinbrook is probably my favourite town, too, tied only with Midnight Hollow. I really like the swampy atmosphere and the unique genetics of the townies. It's not a traditionally beautiful town, which makes it all the better. :D
Thanks, Audren!
I wonder what qualifies as traditionally beautiful- I mean, those old money homes in that town are STUNNING. Pidgin Roost has to be my favorite pre-made big mansion lot. So much character and personality. When it's raining there in the fall, it's just so atmospheric. The Bloc is an excellent home for a huge family to move to. (My Rosarios currently own both lots, haha.) And DeAndre Wolf is just- YUM :)
Welcome to the forum, even it if is after you have been here a bit ;) I did some lurking, reading the guide, searching the achieves before I formally joined also.
Love this place as the people here are friendly, helpful and just fun to talk to. And understand how sims can take over your life and not see it as weird that you love the game.
Welcome to the forum, QueenoftheSims. I hope you'll enjoy the time you spend here. :)
A warm welcome to Twisted Nerve, babyinateacup, MischaMusic, QueenOfTheSims, and patronissimo! I hope that you all enjoy your time here!
Welcome to everyone new :D
Hi everyone :). I am Simatmosphere. just wanted to pop in and say hello! I am a huge sims fan and i know this may upset some but i have a youtube channel where i play sims 3 let's plays and fun challenges. I'm not new by any means i have over 3,000 subscribers i just wanted to let you all know incase you were looking for new let's plays to watch :). I have a very supportive fan base and would love for it to grow! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5gMqqeaed2l2OSfLY7oPxQ check me out if you would like :).
A big hello from the Southern Hemisphere!
I'm FyreByrde (naturally), and I hail from the bottom tip of Africa. I've been an on-and-off fan of The Sims, since the very first The Sims. (Mostly my fandom has been tempered by general lack of funds to really vamp up my PC, or expand my game, over the years.)...
Are you from SA too? :D :D :D
Yebo! Hailing from the Mother City. :D You?
... Me too :O This is so exciting.

LOL. I figured there were other gamers in Cape Town, just not so much on an American site. :) So, if you're a med student, I take it you're at UCT?
Hello! My name is Lynne, I have been trying to play the Sims 3 for 12 months, I did buy the Sims 2 but I don't like it much, I have been coming to this site for quite awhile for help everytime I got stuck and advice, I thought it was time to ask if I could join :)
Thank you very much for letting me join :)
Heh, don't burn me with fire but I'm actually a Matie ::) What about you? Tell me (and the rest of the forum ;D) about yourself :)
Oh the horror! A matie in our midst! LOL Nah, I actually went to Rhodes, so I don't get mixed up in the politics. But would it surprise you if I said that that was 10 years ago?
That's right people, I'm an (increasingly) old gamer. :D
The politics are so unnecessary, but they'll always be there (unfortunately). Most of my friends are at UCT, so I've become accustomed to being the lone-Stellies-ranger at gatherings :P
"Old"? I think you mean experienced ;) Actually, I was going through the calendar (http://www.carls-sims-3-guide.com/forum/index.php?action=calendar) and it seems like the mean age is lurking in the 20s-- there aren't as many under-20 users on here, interestingly enough.

So I finally got around to posting here and introducing myself.
I'm Ivane.
*waits for y'all to say "Hello, Ivane!" *
*crickets chirping*
Wow. Tough crowd.
Anyway, hello everyone. Loved Sims since I ever got introduced to them. Loved the progression of what we can do as players from Sims to Sims 2 to Sims 3. That being said, I was going nuts last night when a friend asked help from me to install Sims 2 on her spiffy brand new laptop. Apparently Sims 2 has trouble making friends with Windows 8 and Intel Graphics cards. The resolution of the game is atrocious, a lot less better than my old clunky laptop used to have back in college. Grr. I know... that totally came out of the blue, but it's what's on my mind so I figured I'd just throw it out there.
Oh. And yes. I'm a freelance writer, and I guess I can be quite random... Obviously. Well, enough talking to virtual air.
Bow. Thank you, thank you!
Hello everyone!! My name is Matthew.. Kinda new to the Sims, but loving it. I played simcity for a long time and ultima online even longer. Looking forward to chatting with some and annoying others with noobified questions lol
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
*waves*Hi, GG! Thanks for the cookies... and the welcome (but more the cookies)! I actually installed TS2 in my laptop and it's working great so far. My sister likes to play it more than Sims 3. She says she panics with having to play the whole neighborhood. One house is enough, she says. O_o
Hey, Ivane! Have a cookie *throws cookies*
Officially welcome then!
Out of the blue is better than... out of the red? (wat ;D ) Thanks for sharing though, I was considering installing TS2 on my laptop, but what if it just throws a tantrum? :-\
Tell us of your writing! Do you write articles or more fictional stuff? *gathers for story time*
*applause*

You wrote untouchable Patels! I just gotta say, I love that story.
Hi folks! :D
How arw you? well, Inam a guy that does not know how to make nice sims, but nice houses.
I mean, i know how to make nice sims, but not perfect ones, just myself.
Well, I hope to be a nice friend here, and thats it.By the way, is there a section where I can ask for someone make a sim for me?
Hello everyone! I feel rather shy, as I've been stalking all the Story Boards for some time without ever introducing myself...because everyone on here's so awesome! But here goes. Dorian, Sims 1 thru 3 veteran but first time Legacy blogger. Nice to meet everybody; can't wait to see the stories you all tell ^_^
Hi folks! I'm Rumleaf! I've been a lurker here at the forums many times and finally decided to join. :) I'm a 43 year old mom and have been obsessed with the Sims series since the original. Until an unforeseen set of circumstances a year ago, I owned every physical copy of the original Sims, Sims 2, and 10 (if I remember correctly) of the Sims 3 series and stuff packs. Even though I became owner of all things Sims 2, I never really got into those, sticking to the original Sims for the most part all the way up until Sims 3 was introduced. (I honestly don't know why lol.) I bought the Sims 3 at release and fell in love all over again with the Sims! Then, a little over a year ago, I moved nearly 2000 miles away from home and ALL my sweet Sims games were left behind. For over a year I've been deprived of my dear Sims and only 2 weeks ago began purchasing digital downloads from Origin. At the moment, I only have the base game, (obviously), Generations, Seasons, & Island Paradise. Though I had Generations before, Seasons and Island Paradise are totally new to me! I love them!! (Apart from the game lag issues I'm experiencing with IP.) I'm moving back home next week, and this means (yes!!) I'll have access to all my other Sims games/expansions/stuff packs once again! :) I'm one excited and happy simmer! Haha. Anyway, I've always really enjoyed visiting the forums here and and really happy to have registered. I'm not much on posting, rather a quiet gal to be honest, but when I do, I tend to post "wall of text" such as this one! TeeheeHey, Rumleaf! Welcome to the forums!! Your introduction really made me smile. Not even sure why. I can sense all the sims love from it! Haha... :)

Hi, I'm rainweaver2002, name's the same for Sims 3 site. I've been playing Sims for a rather long time. I found this forum (which is awesome!) while looking for info on glow orbs and other supernatural related things. Thanks for all the great advice.
Hi, I'm a twenty-something simmer from Australia. I'm a primary school teacher by day and have been playing since the days of Sims 1. I have dabbled in many sims online communities over the years (even met my husband on one) but have never found one just right so far and I'm hoping this is it.
I'm looking forward to discussing the newest edition with other like-minded simmers
Welcome Ari :) I think your written English is outstanding! It reads like it is written by someone whose native language is English.
What’s your name stand for? grad looks like stand for graduation to me ;D
Thanks for the warm welcome, arimau. You are indeed correct. My username is a reference to my alma mater.
Hi Everyone...
*snip*
Welcome back! I haven't seen you in a while!;D lovely to be back <3 glad to know people remember me hahaha
It's more realistic that a Sim can't get to the top of 3-4 Careers in the span of a lifetime, and I like it that way.
Welcome to the forum @Fraido . When I'm not playing challenges I love to help myself to the bank of 'Motherlode' and then build my sims a mansion and I've been known to cheat needs in TS4 too so my sims can skill up 24/7. It's fun to be able to play in different ways.Very true!:)
...and I'm having a blast playing it realistically! ...
That's the thing with cheating, it is a full right to do it but i really think that many times by cheating all the time players lose something for the fun side. You really do! I find that I would get bored more quickly when I would play with my needs static, but at the same time I had difficulty keeping my sims' needs fulfilled, and that wasn't much fun either. Sims 4 seems to be easier to keep them up though, in my opinion.
welcome Fraido.
Hello I'm new to this site, I need some assistance on how to do stuff here.
My name is Nimrod Elian "Nimi" Mikkusu. I live in Palermo, Italy, and I turn 20 next 21 November. I used to play The Sims a lot although my dad says it's a pathological\medical obsession, he says it will not be once I turn 21 and I try to play it very little. I'm mostly a TS3 simmer though I don't have it currently. Today is the first day my dad said I was allowed to have an account here. I used to lurk both here and on Modthesims.Welcome aboard! I hope you enjoy spending time here! I love this forum! The Sims is quite an addictive thing, isn't it? Feel free to stop by the Sims 3 stories board, that's usually where I'm lurking and posting! I look forward to seeing you around the forum!
Welcome to the Forum Magi ;-D you can call me Mags or Steph. I'm sure you are going to love your time here with us!! This is one of the most fantastic places on the web!
Hi there, I'm BotanicGarden, my name is Magdolna but you can call me Magi or Botanic, whatever fits your flow.Hey there! Beautiful name! Welcome to the Sims forum! I hope you enjoy it here!
I enjoy gardening in real life and playing The Sims! I've been playing The Sims ever since it came out. I'm a housewife and mother of two crazy 9 year old twin boys, Aspen and Reid who also share my love for the sims! (I guess it's genetics, huh? ;D) I come from Budapest, located in Hungary but I'm a mix of Ethiopian and Hungarian. I originally have dark brown hair but it's currently dyed bright red and I have light brown eyes. I'm so glad to have found this forum and I'm really happy to meet you all! :)

Sims is definitely contagious, one way or another. I must've gotten the rare gene though, because my family doesn't play. Unfortunately. ::) I look forward to seeing you around the forum!
Hi, I'm Casey. I work for a software company (sadly, not in the gaming industry), own a sweet German Shepherd puppy, and have been married for 1 year almost exactly (we celebrated our anniversary yesterday). My husband introduced me to the Sims (yes, the original Sims) about 4 years ago when we were first dating, and I've been an addict ever since. Sims 3 was probably my favorite simply because of the never-ending supply of content (of course, that wasn't great for my wallet), but I do love the Sims 4 as well. The challenges on the forums here make it a lot more interesting, and I've been enjoying them immensely. So hopefully I'll see you all around... it should be fun! :)Hi there! Welcome to the forum! There's always fun challenges to do and projects as well! I hope you enjoy it here as much as I do! I look forward to seeing you around the forum!

Hello. I've been a fan of The Sims since I was introduced to the game in 2000. I look forward to engaging in the tidiest, friendliest forum I've come across.Hello Gerbitty! Welcome to the forum! This is a wonderful place to be, I hope that I'll see you around here!
Hello I am a big fan of the sims series. I like to play between 3 and 4 mostlyHi there QueenofTheSims. I'm a big fan of the Sims genetics myself! I look forward to seeing you around the forum! Maybe if you're interested you can post a story about your crazy genetics. :) Welcome to the forum!
My favorite thing to do is pass generations and see how the kids turn out each time and if I got multiples on Sims 3 I like to see which ones has the most interesting traits to be heir,my faveriote family family to play is the Goth family because a lot of the girls look like Bella or Cassandra even if there a great grand daughter or grand daughter even further then that !
Hello!Hi there! Welcome to the forum!
I just registered today, after benefiting from both the website and this forum, especially the thread on symptoms in the doctor career.
I'm Norwegian, I play TS4, and I watch waaay too much The Sim Supply and Deligracy on YouTube. Several years ago I played TS2, but I never really got into it at the time. Now I've fallen in love with TS4, and play it whenever I get the chance :)
Hi fellow simmers!Hi there Anks! Welcome to one of the friendliest forums I've ever been on!
After using this website for quite some time to look up information, read guides,... I decided to 'join the team'. So I just wanted to introduce myself real quick. My name is Anks, I'm 23 years old and Belgian (yes, the country of chocolate, hello!). Considering there's no life without the sims, the answer to 'how long have you been playing the sims?' is: since forever ;-). I seriously think playing the sims should be a life goal or a legitimate job or something :-D Anyway, I'm looking forward to meeting you all, have fun playing!
Anks, x
Hello all. I've been playing Sims since the originals, which came out when I was around 11 years old. I've stuck with the series all these years, playing on and off, though Sims 4 only recently caught my interest. I've been using the guide site and poking around in the forums for years but never decided to make an account, until now. Mostly just in case, I'm a lurker by heart. :P
Hello everyone, My name is Stepluv56, nice to meet everyone. I was looking for a forum to join because I recently started playing the sims 3 :DWelcome to the forum Stepluv56!
Hi everyone! I'm PJHP. I've actually been visiting this forum for a while, I just hadn't thought of getting an account until now. Nice to meet you!Hi there PJHP! Welcome to the forum! I love this place - and I hope that I'll see you around and about!
Hi, I'm wipeout1024! I've been a lurker here for quite some time, and I finally decided to join!Hey there! Welcome! I'm glad to see another lurker has joined our midst! I'm always happy to see new members! =) I hope to see you around! Happy Simming!
Hi, everyone!Welcome back Megan! We're always happy to have people here! I love this guide and forum and hope that you find it as helpful and friendly as I always have! Happy Simming!
My name is Megan and I've been playing The Sims since I received The Sims Deluxe Edition as a Christmas present many moons ago. I never would've thought that I'd become such a huge fan, but here I am. :) I didn't have the opportunity to play The Sims 2, but I got back into simming with The Sims 3. I purchased The Sims 4 at the end of last year and I've been turning to this forum rather frequently in an effort to soak up as much new information as I can! The threads here are a great resource and many of my questions have been answered just by reading through them. I accidentally deleted my original forum account (oops!), but I'm back now and wanted to re-introduce myself.
I'm really happy to be part of such a wonderful community who loves The Sims as much as I do!
Hello, my name is Kimberley :D I have every expansion for Sims 3 and I've taken it a step further by doing my own breeding program of Friesians, Arabians and Anglo-Arabs. I do have Mods installed for better in game experience. wouldn't change it for the world heheWelcome Kimberley! =D The Sims 3 is still my favorite of the Sims series - so you'll probably see me around on the Sims 3 forums. If you're ever interested, we have fairly great Sims 3 stories board where you can share the fun you have with your Sims! =)
Hi, I guess this is technically a reintroduction, since I was around for Sims 3 many moons ago. I gradually stopped posting and playing, since life got in the way. But now I'm downloading Sims 4 on Origin and hope to be around more often :)Welcome back! :) I hope that you have fun with the Sims 4! I love Carl's guide - it's so helpful for all things the Sims! It's always good to see a returning face though! ;D
To be honest I should have signed up to this forum a number of years ago but neglected to do so. I played Sims 3, using all the NRAAS mods for a few years and when Sims 4 came out I bought a copy at release, spent about 8 hours real time continually peeing, eating, sleeping so threw the game in a drawer and forgot about it. A few weeks ago I was playing Sims 3, and god forbid, had to look something up on the web and accidently stumbled across a Sims 4 mod that retarded needs and yelled eureka!Welcome [officially] to the forum, Subtle! =) We're a pretty awesome bunch here and we look forward to seeing you around! Feel free to hang around the Mods and Custom Content board for the Sims 4 - it's always surprising what kind of mods there are out there! There's a mod for everyone!
So here I am a newbie Sims 4 player, happy she/he no longer has to pee her Sims day away. ::)
Hello everyone!Hello Medjc! Welcome to the forum! I'm sorry to hear about your hospitalization - that's really a terrible thing to have to go through in general but with no Sims?! I would have probably gone insane! ::) I hope you find the community here as friendly and helpful as I do! ;D I'll hopefully be seeing you around!
My name is Valentine and I've been playing Sims for about a decade or so. Originally, my parents had bought Sims 2 to play themselves, but quickly grew bored of it and gave it to me. I was perhaps only eight years old at the time but I immediately became hooked! I've played all four generations of the games and I would be very hard pressed to pick a favorite. I used to be active on the Sims 2 forums many years ago but since then I haven't joined any forums or communities. I took a long break from Sims due to being hospitalized last year and being unable to play during that time, but recently came back to it after rediscovering what a good escape from daily life it is. I've actually been lurking these forums for a while and figured now is a good a time as any to get involved again!
Hi Simmers!Hi there strawburrysimmer! Welcome to the forum! This forum is an awesome place to be and I hope to see you around here! =) Don't be a stranger!
I'm strawburrysimmer, and I'm actually pretty new to the simming community. I've only owned the sims 4, but I had been a fan of the sims 3 beforehand.
I've been visiting this site periodically for a year now. I love how informative the guides are, and how well-maintained this forum is. I finally gave in and decided to sign up, and here I am today! I think that's all I wanted to say :)
Hello everyone. I've been a member here for some time but I never posted before now. In Sims 3, my ID is Defbelle87 and for the Gallery in Sims 4, my Origin ID is defbelle. Feel free to look at my work on the Gallery.Hi there! Welcome to posting for the first time then! =D Do you build mostly, or are you a Sim creator, or a bit of both?

Looking forward to meeting new friends.Hello NordicMamma! :D Good to see some long-running fans stopping in on our awesome community! Welcome to the forum! Do you have a Sims preference that you like to play (1, 2, 3, or 4)?
Hello, everyone! I'm WhatThe What, and I've been loving sims ever since I was a little girl! I love doing challenges for the Sims 3 and 4. I've been lurking on this forum without making an account for ages now and I'm happy to be part of the community! I look forward to meeting you all!Hey there, WhatTheWhat! Welcome to the forum! =D Lurkers or posters - all are welcome here! Glad to see you decided to join in. :D I hope to see you around the forum!
Edit: I figured it out!
Hello fellow Simmers!Welcome to the forum, Steph! =) I'm always happy to see long-term simmers who stumble upon our cozy little forum. ;D I wish you the best of luck with the challenges, and I hope to see you around the forum!
My name is Steph and I’ve been playing The Sims for over 16 years now. I bought The Sims 1 base game as a Christmas present for my little brother in 2000 and after watching him play went out and bought my own copy. I’ve been hooked ever since! I’m an American citizen currently living as a Permanent Resident down under in beautiful Australia. I create Sims and I’m also a builder. I love playing Legacies and Challenges, although I’ve never competed in anything online before, just with close friends.
Carl’s Sims 3 & 4 guides are my “go-to” sites to get all my gameplay info and they do a magnificent job! I’ve been following the Sims 4 Challenges on this forum and I’m looking forward to jumping in and giving it a go! Everybody on this site seems really nice, friendly and helpful and I’m happy to be here!! :)
Hello everyone :)Welcome to the forum, Nindigo! =D We always love new faces here! I hope to see you around the forum! :D
I'm an adult player (at home wife) who has been playing TS3 on and off for some time now. I also have TS4 and have played it a little, but I find I need to warm up to it since it's different from the previous game. I'm familiar with TS2, but not overly so. Carl's sims guides have been valuable and inspirational to me in my (mostly) experimental pursuits, and I have enjoyed reading heaps of interesting posts on the forum as well. Thank you for this!
Anyway - I'm a bit shy, but will be around. Thanks for having me ;)
Hi, everyone :)Hi there, daydreamer! Welcome to the forum! I'm glad another lurker has come forward and created an account! This forum is super awesome and I look forward to seeing you around! :D
I've been referring to this sims 3 guide for years, but only just decided to become a member of the forum very recently. I enjoy reading the challenges and stories of other players, as well as taking advantage of the many resources provided here. I've loved and played the sims for a long time, so it's fun to see other people who enjoy playing as much as I do. :)
Hi! Hermoine here. Just got registered yesterday. I was desperately looking for answers on how to marry the hermit and that's how I found out this page.Hi there, hermoine! Welcome to the forum! I hope to see you around and about! =D
And again, hi to everyone! Lol
Here to reintroduce myself, since it's been a couple years since I logged on (as I'd forgotten my password).Welcome (back) to the forum! I'm always glad to see returning faces as well as new ones! This guide and forum is an awesome place to be and there's so much good information to go around! I hope you find everything you need. Hey, if you get far enough in a legacy feel free to post a story about it! We love our story boards here! =)
The name's SimEater. PurpleSimEater - though you can just call me purple or PSE if you want :). I'm an American, in college, and have been a fairly avid Sims player since I picked up the third installment in the franchise back in August 2011. Severaldozenfailed legacy attempts later, I got The Sims 4 for Christmas in 2014 and it's been a love affair ever since. That being said, I still miss some aspects from The Sims 3, though that's a whole other thread. I'd one day like to build a non-terrible-looking home and successfully make it to Generation 5 of a legacy.
As to how I found this forum - considering the fact Carl's guides have basically been my Simming Bible, it was only a matter of time before I ended up on here.
Been a long time since I played Sims, finally got TS4, I'm still getting used to the new build mechanics, some I feel are more counter-intuitive than TS3 but that might just be me. It's good logging back in here, I see not much has changed UI wise..Hi there YZJay! Welcome (back?) to the forum! I love this place and I know Carl takes good care of it! =) I hope to see you around and about!
Hi all from NL ;)Welcome to the forum kathclapp! =D I hope to see you around and about on the forum!
Well, y'all know me here ;-D except the newbies of course. Thought I'd reintroduce myself to them.Awww! Shucks, thanks Steph! @mpart and I put a lot of work into our collaboration. ;D
I'm Steph and I come from Sunny South Africa (although at the moment there is more rain than sun). I have been playing Sims since very early in the series (I accidentally bought TS1 Showtime, thinking it was a stand-alone game... One base game later...). I joined here in 2012 (towards the end of the year if I'm not mistaken) and this is one of my favourite places to be! So much so, that I've now introduced my neighbour to TS3 and if he enjoys it, I'm going to convince him that he needs to be HERE, to get the best out of his game ;-D
@LivvieLove has been welcoming y'all to our forum so nicely, and I thought I'd mention that, if you head over to the TS3 story boards, you will find one of the most amazing stories online ever. Written by our very own Liv, and intersecting with @mpart's story, which is just as brilliant (sorry, Liv, between the Keeper's, Reaper's and Labelle's, I just can't choose!)
Ok, that's enough of my 10 cents lol see y'all around the boards and, Happy Simming!

Hello, my name is Wizplace but you can call me Layla and I have been playing the Sims 3 since it's launch in 2009.Hello there, Layla! The Sims 3 is my favorite of all the Sims games currently. Welcome to forum! I look forward to seeing you around and about here! =D

Hello everyone ;D I'm Raegan or Rae for short. I've been playing the sims since I think it was when Sims 3 third pack came out. I found Carl's the sims 3 guild awhile back and loved it! I always checked here first when I had a problem or need to know something. So I thought it was about time I singed up. So nice to meet you all!Welcome to the forum Raegan! This forum has been super helpful to me and a great place for me to express my creative side. =) I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! Here's hoping I see you around! Happy Simming!
Hi everyone ... My name is Sue. I have been playing Sims since the original game. I love these games I have retired from teaching and have a lot more free time to play now. They are relaxing to play and let you use your imagination endlessly !! I just recently discovered challenges for the game. :D I have tried 2 so far from this site but my scores were way too low to turn in. The challenges add a whole new creative way to play that is so much fun. I love this site and look forward to trying some more challenges.Hi there Sue! I love challenges every now and then! If you're ever interested or take a few screenshots, a lot of us here love reading about challenges others do! I hope to see you around the forum! =D
Hi there. My name is Faolain and I'm still playing Sims 3 after all these years despite owning sims 4. :PHi there Faolain! Welcome to the forum!
Nice to meet you all.
Hey :)I don't think I welcome-wagoned you yet, so hello there! Welcome to the forum! Congratulations on impending parenthood, I know that's got to be a nerve-wrecking time! I hope you find a warm community here and look forward to seeing you around and about!
So my name is Tennille, I am a 28 year old female and about to be first time mum. This is why I have some time on my hands and decided to join up here rather than just visit the site when I need some sim help/inspiration. I am not working at the moment (back injury plus pregnant with twins has forced me to start my maternity leave rather early)
I have been playing the sims since the original game, utterly addicted to it this entire time. At first I wasn't so keen on sims 4 but now (and especially in the future with more packs and expansions) it is pushing right behind sims 3 as my favourite. And it was the only one so far where I was able to create my simself and have her look a LOT like me :)
Not really sure what else to say except that I spend half a year in Australia and the other half in Germany and have done so for as long as I can remember as my family all live over in Deutschland except my dad and my brothers as dad moved over here when I was just 6 months old :)
Looking forward to chatting with my fellow simmers after all these years.
Hi everyone,Hey there! I'm always happy to see another face joining our forum! This place is chop-full of awesome information and people! I look forward to seeing you around! ;D
I started playing TS4 in September 2015 and never played any of the previous Sims games --- aside from SimTower, on and off since earlier in 2015. I've been a member on this forum since June 2016 --- I found Carl's Guide around the end of 2015, and both are amazing resources --- wicked nice people on the forum, too! :)
I've been married to a great guy for almost 5 years (October 2016 will be 5 years :),) and I live in Massachusetts. I went to college and graduate school in Boston, and I majored in English in college and my master's degree is in print journalism.
Hiya, my name is Mari and I've been playing the sims since the first one came out. My favorite Sims game is The Sims 3. I am almost 21 years old (will be in November 2016) and I attend community college. My major is Fine Arts. I decided to join this forum in hopes of sharing some on my knowledge about the game to people who may have questions. Its nice to meet you all.Hi Mari! The Sims 3 is my favorite as well! I hope you find this forum to be friendly and a fun place to be! Maybe I'll see you around the Sims 3 boards. ;D
Hi!
I'm murtonminer and I am new to this forum. I am a frequent Sims 3 player and have Into the future, pets, showtime, ambitions, world adventures, late night, generations, seasons, university life and island paradise expansion packs.
Feel free to ask me any questions as I am a fairly experienced player.
See ya!
-Murtonminer ;D
Hi, Deb! Actually, TS4 Sims are pretty good at taking care of their needs -- unless they're using the computer. Then they'll keep playing a game forever. They won't starve, though. I think you have 24 hours from when they go into the red on hunger.Welcome to the forum, Deb!
Hey, Shawn - welcome. We're actually neighbors. Sort of. :) My family is in Bloomington, IL.I'm a bit south of there, about 40 minutes north of Paducah, KY :) Thanks for the welcome!
Welcome, Linda. :) My oldest girl, 21 now - oh my, where does the time go? also loves drawing and painting. She has quite a talent for it and is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts at the local community college.
So, welcome again. My main home on the forum is the challenges and Dynasties section. Check it out some time.

Thanks Metropolis! I've had a quick look at the challenges, and I'm tempted to try one. Can you recommend one? Nothing too complicated as I've never done them before :)
Best wishes to your daughter in her studies! Hope it's everything she dreams of :) I'm currently studying GCSE Mathematics at college part time.
em hi i'm from Australia
@Magz from Oz I am not sure how my elder ended up pregnant other than I do have a mod that I enabled to do a Teen Pregnancy Challenge but I don't recall ever setting it up for elders!@EatBreathePlaySims --- Welcome to the forum. Was your Sim abducted an got pregnant? It seems like you're playing TS3 --- I've only played TS4, but all the Sims games look cool.
@coolsim9999999 Yes, I play TS3. I tried TS4 and it was nice but I love my TS3 more. Any Sims game is awesome in my book though! You must have some characters that you don't want to give up in TS3, either. That's how it is for me in TS4.
Hi, I am Happy and I had recently started to play sims 3, my sim just super fast learned how to write and paint in one day and mastered it! My sim is a child and I had no clue what happened, she just aged up recently. Please help me!
I'm a long time lurker and, in fact, closely followed several Immortal Dynasties and Townie DecaDynasties for awhile way back when! Now I'm back and hope to perhaps get a challenge of my own going. Eventually. :DHi there @princex, welcome to the forums!
I would honestly love to do an TS3 Immortal Dynasty, since I always loved those, but I'm not sure anyone here cares about TS3 stories anymore? :x Ah well -- perhaps after I get the hang of TS4 I'll like those dynasties just as much. :p (I preordered, but never really touched the game... whoops! After awhile, though, creating gender neutral and trans sims in TS3 got annoying and I just had to make the switch for those lovely, lovely gender customization tools!)
I mostly haven't played a lot of TS4 yet because TODDLERS, tbh!
@coolsim9999999 oh thanks, sorry for late reply :'(You're welcome, @BlairAragon :)!
Welcome to the forum @vancanuckfan86 I'm glad you chose to join us. With a 2 month old, you'll have your hands full but I'm sure you'll enjoy stretching your mind (and fingers) to fulfill some the the challenges. Enjoy!
Hello! :)I started playing at age 20. Love everything about it! Look me up through sims 3 friends. I really want to send a friend some gifts
Um, i'm Beetan, from my real name Bee, haha. I'm a young female from Canada, studying in Creative Writing :D
It's been now 12 years since I started playing The Sims, so yeah, i was only a child when it all started. I remember that I fought a lot with my parents because they didn't understand why was I so addicted to this game, and swearing I would never stop playing; well IN YOUR FACE, PARENTS! haha
Umm, I also play a lot of video games and have a passion for animals; i have myself a little pug and a cute cat prince! ::)
Thanks for reading! I hope we'll have a chance to talk soon! ;D
Hello! This has become my Goto site for The Sims 4 info. Thanks so much for all you do to help us. I decided to finally join...so Hi there!!Welcome to the site.

Hi EveryoneWelcome to the forum. Glad you joined us.
I am LadyThyme a 20-something Dutchie. I have been playing the Sims since the early days of the sims 2 (I picked up the complete collection of the sims 1 as well but that didn't get as much love from me, really) . I have been playing a lot of the sims 2 and also the sims 3 because I spent most of my teens at home due to health issues. Then I stopped playing it as much for the past two years or so.
I moved in spring and got sucked right back in , so I've been playing sims 3 base game a lot. I discovered this forum in the beginning of August and read a lot of projects and sims 3 stories here. I finally decided to go for the WYDC but I thought it would be more fun too make a story about it on here. So, that's what made me sign up.

Hello,Welcome, Wanda Carter.
I am Walda, I am (nearly) 19 years old and I live in the Czech Republic. I like to play The Sims (obviously) and my other hobbies are knitting, crocheting, bobbin lace, reading, hanging around with my friends (don't have many of them :( ), writing my own stories and drawing. I just like being creative, that's what I like about The Sims series. As a simmer, I started with The Sims 2, had only base game and Pets, then I got Ultimace Collection for free. When it Comes to The Sims 3, I have most of expansion packs but now I play mainly TS4 as it's not so demanding for my laptop. I am the "family" type of player. I've found this site through various guides (which are great).
(and people think I am insane because I would like to be a teacher)
Hey there!Welcome. My favorite Sims expansion is Sims 1 Making Magic. And to be honest sims 4 was a bit of a let down at first. I really miss the open world of TS3. But TS4 grows on you. I really enjoy vampires in the TS4 more than any life state in any sims game.
My name's David! I'm a long time lover of The Sims, having been with the franchise since I was 12 (I'm 25 now...). I've been involved in various Sims communities over the years, but have somewhat fallen away from them of late, so I want to get back into it.
I love playing through a legacy challenge, although to this day I don't think I have ever actually successfully completed one which I would like to change one day. I also love using the sims as a means to tell stories. I'm not very good at it, but I love turning my sims into characters and sharing their stories with fellow simmers.
My favourite era of the sims is probably TS2, but my favourite expansion pack is TS3 Seasons. I admit I haven't been a huge fan of the TS4 era, but hopefully once I start to build on my EP (and GP) collection for the game, that will change.
Welcome to the forum @rika1431 LOL
I know you'll enjoy yourself at this forum.
Its founder Carl is genius, the Challenges Team members are brilliant, and the forum members are friendly, helpful, and fun.
Joining some of the tournament challenges really helps with the longer dynasty challenges.
And, of course, there are all the dynasty challenges to try out and write/read about.
I hope all three of you make yourselves at home here.
Hello @MissSeaGal and welcome to the forum! Thanks! Looking forward to it.
Haha, I also had a laptop overheat and die while playing The Sims 3. :D
Hope you enjoy your forum experience! This is a nice community. :D
Hi guys. Not a newbie exactly. I've been with this forum since it started. Due to definitely unforseen and very traumatic RL events I've been away from the forum and from playing Sims and my dynasty stories for over two years. Wow! Hadn't realized it was that long. I've pretty much forgotten all I ever knew about Sims, and with so many changes over that time span I've a lot of catching up to do. Two of my stories are in the graveyard and I'm not sure I'll pick up on them or not. So for now, good to see all of you as I relearn Sims4 and this forum. Cyber hugs from Joria.Welcome back, Joria. I hope whatever kept you away was resolved in a positive manner. Cheers!
Welcome back @Joria ! <3Glad to be back but am having fits relearning EVERYTHING! I'm such a retro-noob! How do you put things like salons on lots, or any Maxis buildings on lots? Can't remember. At least I found I can still build!
You have been deeply missed, you know!
Welcome to he forum @BlairAragon! You are allowed to post pictures. I like your Sim :).
em hi i'm from Australia
Yeah another Aussie! Welcome to the forum. I'm from the Sunshine State. Normally I'd introduce myself as a banana bender but there's a guy on this forum who uses that name.
Not a new member. I'm a really old member, former moderator and resident of Carl's exclusive Union Cove for Sims 3. Just now getting into Sims 4 (always late to the party lol), so I figured I'd reintroduce myself.
I still get birthday wishes from the forum every year, so thanks for that. ;)
And who let you out of the retirement home anyways?
@OlManSimmer @DrWho42 welcome to the forum, even though I'm a little late. I'm sure you'll find we have some kind and very knowledgeable people here.thanks carl! i love your videos, by-the-way. 8)
Hi guyswelcome @SunsetSimmer ! :D
Just stopping by to introduce myself before asking a question :) Lovely place you've got here! Looking forward to getting to know everyone :)
Welcome to the forum! 4 will be a change from 3, that's for sure. But the toddlers in 4 are cuter.
Welcome @Pebbles! (Tries to restrain self from asking, "How is Bam-Bam?" and fails). Good luck with the challenge.
welcome pebbles!Thank you!
Yes, you do help eachother, here; you just don't really chat. :) Perhaps I'm too late to this game, all the good conversations are old and done, only the complaints are left.
EDIT: @sdhoey If you have anything to say to me about this post of mine I would feel more comfortable if you adressed me here instead of in a PM. And unless this thread is not for chatting or any rules were broken I don't see the issue with me stating the obvious, that this forum has almost no one posting in it, and barely anyone reading the threads and visiting. It is a shame, I think, because the forum is historically a place where a lot of people have posted valuable information about the game; but non the less true.
Hi there! I’m not exactly new; I’m just an eternal lurker who never posts anything. I play the Sims 3!
I was going to re-read a favorite Sims 3 story—ILoveDolls’ “Gothic Legacy”—after quite a while, but I can’t seem to find it now. I’m kind of hoping that it is off-limits to me rather than missing and that if I get my member level up, somehow I’ll find it? Maybe?
~ JarofPearls,
I looks like ILoveDolls may have removed their story from the forum, as I seem to get the same error as you.
Hi I am new here and introducing myself. I am very socially awkward, and this applies to the internet as well.

Welcome, @Rubypanda . I grew up in St. Louis and have visited Branson. Have fun in the Tournament...lots of changes to it this year, and we see more participation.

Hello gamers :)I am from the europe right now in USA!
Big HI to all simmers! :)
Hello! Longtime simmer (since 2003 technically), but new member.
Hello everyone! I have been an infrequent simmer over the years. Just got back into Sims 4 and I love it.
Hey there! I'm Schazer and I'm a highly sporadic Sims player. I find it incredibly easy to get lost in the character-creation sauce.
Hello, i am also new here :)
