Title: Meaning of caste and CASt
Post by: beardeux on August 09, 2014, 01:25:05 AM
I have been seeing these terms everywhere lately and I've no idea what they mean.  Can someone enlighten me please?  I've just downloaded nraas Story Progression and caste is listed all through it.

Also can anyone tell me how to shut off Story Progression altogether with the nraas Story Progession mod.  My main menu tab has SP off, but the sims are still aging, I'm assuming because it's not off in the mod.  I've seen the young kids become teens and one adult is about to die.  Thanks in advance.

CASt stands for Create-A-Style, which is where you can change colors and patterns on clothing and furniture.  This feature won't be available on Sims 4, and that may be why you're seeing it a lot.  I don't know about caste.

Story Progression and aging are two separate things.  Story Progression controls marriages, births, jobs, moving, etc.  You can turn off aging in the options menu on the Game Options tab.

Thanks Pam for clearing up the term.  I do have the aging and story progression turned off in the game option tab.  However,  I just had a sim die of old age.  I found an option in general options of nraas SP for 'enable StoryProgression'.  I have it set to false, but my sim died anyway.

You may want to post about that issue on the Game Modifications board and see if anyone has suggestions for you.  I don't use mods, so I can't help you with that part.

here's a link to nraas' FAQ page for castes. It may help explain what it is.. https://nraas.wikispaces.com/StoryProgression+FAQ+Caste
