Title: Not finding any small animals or other collectibles in Appaloosa

The first time I played a family in Appaloosa Plains I was able to find things like snakes, lizards, hedgehogs and birds. I have tried a few new families and I never see any small animals or birds, and I also can't find any seeds, rocks, gems, etc. Any idea what's going on? Gems/Seeds are fine in other towns.

Edit: I went into buydebug mode to check that the spawners were there, and they are. I am not seeing any small animals yet but I did find rocks and seeds. *shrug* Maybe it's just a run of bad luck....

If you can't seem to find any try using your lifetime happiness points and buying the collection helper :)

They started showing up again. I'm wondering if either I was just not patient enough - I know special seeds don't show up till day 4, so maybe animals? ... but then in another file I saw a hedgehog on the first day, in Sunset Valley.

Anyway I eventually got a file where I was finding some.
