Sims 4 ~ Build/CAS Items Removed (Tips)

Build/CAS Items Removed (Tips)

Both Build Items Removed and CAS Items Removed may happen for a few different reasons.

- Using pack items or objects that aren't installed any longer.
- Outdated mods/cc or that are no longer in-game.
- A corrupted save, due to outdated mods/cc or that are not in-game any longer.

CAS Items Removed message pops up each time before you enter a lot.

Here are some troubleshooting tips to try:

1. Use Save As to save the game, and continue with that save. If this works, something in the previous save is corrupt.

2. Check to make sure that you still have all the packs and free items installed:
In Origin > Games Library > Click on Sims 4, scroll down past the Play button, look at the different categories: Expansion packs, Game Packs, Stuff packs and Extra Content. Under the Play button you'll find all purchased game content and bonuses. Check over them to make sure purchased packs are installed.

Each pack should state installed just above the details button. - Also, check the Extra Content tab to make sure content is either unlocked or installed.

3. Check mods/cc:

Check that both mods/cc options are turned on in the Game Options > Other, and are up to date - or have the batch fix file from Sims4Studio. - Custom content may have references to objects that you have no longer have in-game.

4. Check the houses/lots downloaded from the gallery:

If the lot contained a "paint from reference" painting or a photograph taken by a sim in original builders game then you might get the Build Item Removed message.

5. Delete Game Cache and localthumbcahche.package from the Sims 4 folder in Documents.

6. Repair Game:
In Origin > Games Library, right-click on Sims 4 and select Repair. - Do note this repairs the game's install files for the actual game. It does not make any changes to the saved game files. Meaning that your saved games are safe, they won't be deleted. If you'd like you can copy the Sims 4 folder to a USB key.

7. Try resetting your Sims 4 folder and start a new game without mods to see if the issue remains.

8. If tip #1 didn't work or there is a pack missing or missing items, you might try uninstalling/reinstalling Origin to see if it helps "reset" Origin so you can download the missing content.
