1.18: Getting to Know the Twins - Part 1You can read this post on Wordpress here. And here’s where we start counting days/weeks So now posts are going to have part labels. Like part 1, part 2, etc.
Day 1 / MondayKiku: Are you excited about growing up? Tomorrow’s your birthday, you’re finally going to be a teen!
Rei: I’m a little excited, I guess. I’m hoping I’ll get more attention as a teen than I have as a child–the readers don’t know who I am.
Kiku: I think that’s partially my fault. Rika’s been sad about my Evil trait, so she’s given me a lot of attention. Sorry about that.
Rei: Eh, it’s all right. It is what it is.
Sorry, Rei! I’m working on it!Rei: Thanks, Rika.
Oh no, Nana! I didn’t get a final birthday notice for you!Nana: Ah, I’m old! How did this happen?
Katsuo: It’s all right, darling, you’re just an adult now. It doesn’t change much.
Nana: But I have wrinkles now!
Katsuo: I still think you’re as beautiful as the day I met you.
Hana, what do you think you’re doing! Stop that right now!Hana: Whoops, I’m harvesting! It’s too late, I’ve already harvested this plant.
Dang flabbit. I was trying to organize a harvesting schedule.Hana: Well…I could harvest everything and we could start the schedule over again?
-sigh- I guess we have no choice.Mari: I maxed charisma! This means we get to grow up, right?
Well…it’s still early in the morning, and Rei is really close to maxing logic…Mari: But you promised!
You’ll age up today, I swear! We’ll just give Rei a little more time with the chessboard.Mari: Ugh, this is so unfair.
Kiku: It’s all right, Rei, I’ll play chess with you! Rika just realized I never maxed logic as a child, so I might as well max it with you.
Rei: But if we play together, that means we’ll stop periodically…
Kiku: Do you not want to play with me?
Rei: Oh, no, that’s not what I meant! I just really want to grow up, that’s all.
How’s it going, Mari?Mari: Well, I’ve already maxed logic and charisma, so there’s really not much left for me to do while we wait for Rei to max logic. I guess that means I actually get to play, huh?
Yup! Enjoy the last vestiges of your childhood while you still can.Mari: Childhood? What childhood?
Oops…And Kiku maxes logic before Rei, so she gets to mentor her instead!Rei: Almost…there…one more…move…
Kiku: You’ve got this, Rei! Go, go, go!
Rei: There! I did it, I maxed logic!
Kiku: Woohoo, it’s birthday time!
Nana: Yes, I’d like a table for six, please.
It occurred to me that I haven’t thrown a single birthday party so far, so we’re trying that out. I thought maybe throwing it at a restaurant would make the goals easier, but…Nana: Rika, they won’t seat us all! They keep seating just me!
Ah, no! There’s a table for eight right over there, why are they putting you alone at a table for four?Nana: I don’t know. Here, let me give up my table and start a club gathering and try again…
There we go! All seated together!Katsuo: Does everyone know what they want to order?
Rei: I can’t believe we’re actually getting a birthday party, and we got to leave the house too! I’ve never been to a restaurant before!
Mari: That was delicious, but maybe we should have just ordered cake? None of us were actually hungry, and the party timer is ticking away…
I just wanted to give you an actual restaurant experience…It’s cake time!Rei: Oh boy, here we go! I hope I grow up well!
Nana: No matter what, we’ll still love you!
Kiku: -crosses fingers, internally- I hope she gets a good trait and doesn’t end up like me.
And then we learn that you can only request one cake at a restaurant, so we have to end the party–grr, only a silver medal–and head home for Mari to age up. Sorry, Mari!Mari: That’s all right, I’m just excited to grow up! Here we goooooo!
And here are the twins, all grown up! I decided to experiment with poses this time, I think they look pretty cool!Rei: To my Neat trait, I add Hot-Headed, with the Super Parent aspiration. Pretty cool, huh?
You and Mari both now have the Hot-Headed trait, thanks to Nana. -sigh- But Super Parent is a great aspiration, and would be really nice for the heir!Mari: To my Hot-Headed trait, I add Music Lover, with the Party Animal aspiration. Which does nothing to endear me to Rika, because she hates parties…
I surely do. The popularity category is the hardest out of all the legacy points.Mari: But having a Party Animal aspiration means we need to complete parties, so you’d remember to do them instead of leaving all of them for gen 9!
That’s true. Also, may I just say, I love their outfits! They grew up so cute!Day 2 / TuesdayHana: Oh crap, I only got 75% of my homework done yesterday, and there’s an hour left before school! I’ve got to get it done fast or I’ll lose my A grade!
Katsuo: Here, I’ll mentor you so that you can complete it faster.
Hana: Thanks, dad!
Mari: I don’t actually need to be doing my homework, but I figured I’d get it out of the way now so I don’t forget about it…
Hana: Trying to say something?
Mari: This is so not what I meant when I said I wanted to be in more pictures. Hana and Kiku are off to high school, but Rei and I aged up so late at night that we don’t have to go to school today–so Rika puts us to work in the garden instead!
But if you all work together, it gets done faster!Rei: Couldn’t we just hire a gardener?
Katsuo: We could, but Rika is trying to save up our money so we can buy the nice house she built for us.
Rei: Oh, yeah, I forgot about that. Still, I’m with Mari, I’d like better pictures.
Okay, all right, you can stop gardening.Mari: Woohoo, we get to hit the town instead!
Rei: A karaoke bar is pretty cool!
Mari: Yeah, and this doubles as an opportunity for me to work on my aspiration–I need to introduce myself to 10 sims.
Rei: Lucky. I’m stuck with Kiku on my aspiration; my current goal is ‘become an adult.’
Rei: I immediately head into one of the booths to start singing a solo!
Wouldn’t you rather sing a duet with someone? Meet someone new?Rei: That would require talking to a stranger…
Rei, you do not have the loner trait! Why do you act like you do?Rei: I just don’t like people!
Mari: Hello! Nice to meet you, I’m Mari.
Jessica: Hi! Aren’t you a teen? What are you doing in a bar?
Mari: Uh…I mean, there’s no rules about who gets to walk into a bar?
There you go, Rei, meeting new people! He’s pretty cute, too.Rei: Yeah, I guess he is, and this isn’t so bad! I’m actually having some fun.
Mari: After karaoke, Rei and I find a living statue a block away from the bar! This is pretty cool, huh, sis?
Rei: Yeah–there are so many interesting things to do in San Myshuno, I can’t believe Rika never takes us out here.
Mari: Right? All she cares about is skilling, the garden, and painting.
Mari: I can’t help but try and flirt with the statue, but he’s good at his job and doesn’t break character! Dangit!
Mari: There’s a guidebook for this area, but it doesn’t have any information on the festivals!
Dang. I was hoping to find out when they are–there are two festival cycles, and it’s random which cycle you get on, and I wanted to know what’s next to see if it would be fun to go to.Mari: I’d love to go to a festival!
Rei: Gaaaah, why are we at the gym, Mari?
Mari: Rika wanted to check it out. It’s actually a much nicer gym than the one in Windenburg! I actually found a trainer to help mentor me!
Rei: I guess it’s better than being stuck at the house again.
Mari: Shh, don’t talk about the house!
Mari: Look what you did, Rei! Rika brought us back home to learn painting!
Rei: Whoops. Me and my big mouth.
What? You had a nice day in the city, now it’s time for you to learn a valuable skill so you can contribute to the household.
Aaaaand, that’s the end of this part! We are literally right at the 25 image limit, hehe. Part 2 will come tomorrow!
