Welcome to the life of Clara Bjergsen and her golden retriever Lady.

When Clara became a young adult, she and her four-legged friend decided to move to Brindleton Bay. Clara had longed to be free of her parents' controlling grasp. Also, they had never appreciated Lady for being the great family member, Clara knew she was.

And so it came to be that on a sunny Sunday morning, Clara and Lady arrived at their brand new residence - the Domus Familiaris in the Sable Square neighborhood in Brindleton Bay.

Chapter 1

Monday. Clara is making ready to go to work as a caterer.

Tuesday. Lady had a vet check up and checked out.

Nothing like a furry friend lining the couch with soft fur.

Clara is very impressed with Lady's learning rate. This is 'heel'.

Clara just being pretty. IMHO

Wednesday. Lady is in heat. I wonder for how long.

You'll have to make do with my affection, girl.

Thursday. Still in heat. But there's room for other things.

And a glitch. The most important of all.

To be continued...

I'd never seen Clara as a young adult before. She's very pretty.
Also, I like her new, more casual look!

What, no puppies for Lady? My pets have yet to procreate so I'm dying to witness a puppy litter!
No worries. I'll wait until Lady and her watcher are ready. ;-)

Same! I've actually never even thought of doing this with Clara but she is very sweet and the perfect sim to explore Brindleton Bay with. Lady is a rather lovely looking golden retriever.

Thank you both. It's my first time playing her solo. Lady is a super friendly and a fast learning hunter. They really do make a delightful match.

On to the next chapter!

Chapter 2

So, the good Lady had an unfortunate encounter with a skunk near the park. That bathtub couldn't be placed and used fast enough! Due to her preventative shot at the vet clinic, she didn't get sick.

Lily felt encouraged to make the day her personal spa day. The Fengs are weird. You'd think Victor never saw his wife naked. She's a cold woman. Whatever did he see in her? No romance, no children...

Speaking of the vet clinic. This...thing was there and dirty to boot. After Lady's shot, Clara rushed back to her nice, clean home. The shot itself might be unpleasant, but green drool is much worse. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Clara and Lady have been hanging out in San Myshuno a couple of times. The Waterside Warble karaoke bar has an additional bar that Clara has been practicing her bartending skill on. Lady seems to like the place - she socializes and naps on the sofas.

Every now and then, Clara walks Lady around the vicinity. But dog poop isn't popular in the big city. Good thing there are plenty of trashcans.

Clara has been hosting a few club gatherings at home. A shame pets can't be invited as well. Her neighbors Brant and Brent are her closest friends though. As a matter of fact, Brent has been very interested in spending time with her. A little too much, perhaps.

Lady is into everybody. Here, she's been hugging Justin Delgato.

Brant is quite a beefcake compared to Clara.

This picture has a story. Before Clara could get out and clean up Lady's poop, Brent insisted on deliberately stepping on it. What kind of Sim does that?? He tried to scrape it off afterwards. Yuck...

Like me, Lady is wondering why the heck the Heckings don't wash their dog. Even more so, why they bring it into other people's home in such a sorry state?

Clara had enough and took action. What's wrong with those Heckings?

It took forever to bathe little Rosie. She enjoyed it so much.

We really need to sit down and have a talk with those Heckings about proper dog care. Rosie was dirty, hungry AND exhausted.

The Sable Square neighborhood offers lovely outdoor areas for dogs and their owners. Clara and Lady always feel compelled to look at the stream beneath the bridge when they cross it.

Wednesday. Lady is in heat again. It lasts two days. We'll make her a handsome male golden to have puppies with at some point. No worries. Clara IS family-oriented after all ;) Oh, and she has an obsession with the bathtub. Lady, that is.

More to come...

Oh c'mon, who says the Fengs aren't romantic? There's Victor, hiding behind the public restrooms where his wife is bathing in public.
I'm thinking he's getting ready to stealthily peek at his wife in the bath. If that's not romantic, what is? (/sarcasm)

Be careful with those Heckings! Now that you've washed their dog so kindly, they'll probably pay you a "neighborly visit" whenever Rosie needs a bath!

You mentioned that "Lady is in heat again." Does that mean that Lady has gone into heat every week in your game so far?
Looking forward to Lady's puppies!

Heat is a weekly occurrence, yes. The pet can be spayed to stop it. And un-spayed if one wants puppies.

The state of the Feng's marriage has always been a matter of some speculation quite frankly. This just confirms all my suspicions. I am, however, quite shocked at the Hecking's disregard for poor Rosie's well-being!

Chapter 3

Clara and Lady are living a good life in Brindleton Bay. Clara is doing well in the culinary career although her late working hours make her workdays seem unreasonably short. When she's off, she devotes her attention to Lady and her Pet Lovers Inc. social club. Tuesdays are preventative shot-days. Wednesdays-Thursdays are heat-days.

Working is sometimes just nok what it's made out to be. The promotion should have put a smile on Clara's face, but instead she came home tired as well as immensely bored.

To add a little variation to Clara's life, she's been set up with a brand new vet research station where the extra bedroom used to be. She's a perfectionist, and what would be more perfect than to be Lady's personal vet?

Studying pet medicine is quite fun!

Lady is singing her love songs during walks. She also serenades the bathtub at home.

That day, the club gathered at Clara's house. Good thing Justin and Blue didn't know what to do about it. Brindleton Bay needs a public dog wash.

I think the Delgatos must have used an age-down treat to turn their cat into a kitten.

Having club gatherings at the dog park is pretty fun. The chess table got all the attention though.

Clara and Lady visits the local pet stall for the first time. Hey, didn't that same guy just run past us as we crossed the bridge a little ways back? Hmm...maybe he was late for work.

Clara discovers that she and the merchant have some things in common. She ordered a dish for Lady so delicious that it was gobbled up in a manner of seconds.

Sipping some sparkling apple juice, Clara decided to initiate a conversation with Lady. Hopefully that merchant fellow would take notice and think well of both her and Lady.

Well, now you have almost everything you need to run a vet clinic!
Do you think you might give it a go on a very casual basis?

That kitten named Bartholomew A. Biddlebun Jr. belongs to Catarina the Cat Lady. He's the son of the Delgato's cat (Bartholomew A. Bittlebun Sr.) and Catarina's cat, Josie, I'm pretty sure.

Wow, that's A LOT of people at Pupperstone Park! Some of them need to acquire pets, I see! *waggles eyebrows
Why am I not surprised that Caleb showed up in Clara's neighborhood!? It's sweet, actually.

Clara and Lady seem to be having fun!

Clara is lovely!
This is a very cute story that cleverly doubles as a tour of scenic Brindleton Bay.
I love that there is just a bit of sass thrown in with what is mostly just a pleasant account of Clara and Lady's lives.
Looking forward to reading more  :=)

I converted you, @Playalot ? :o ;D
Thanks for all of your kind comments!
I'm going to wrap up last post with this one.

Chapter 4

Clara and Lady have settled nicely in Brindleton Bay. Their regular walks in the area are always pleasant even though some Sims don't seem to appreciate the natural surrounds. What's eating you, Eva? You had to cover for Caleb at the pet stall again? And only at a moment's notice? That was hardly nice of him.

Gorgeous Brindleton Bay. It's amazing how long a short walk always ends up taking in this neighborhood!

Lady: Mom? Can we go now? He's busy anyway.
Well, a certain vendor in a certain area is certainly popular.

Clara makes sure to get acquainted with all the important folks such as the Goths and the Landgraabs. It's a good thing for her to learn peoples' favorite dishes among other things.

Lady has ensnared yet another hapless soul with her disarming presence. Baako Jang has been added as her Simstagram follower.

While Clara was mingling that day, Lady found herself terribly sleepy all of a sudden. I guess being longhaired is like wearing a blanket. Still, it looked somewhat uncomfortable when she curled up into a ball in the middle of the plaza.

Chapter 5

Saturday, Clara decided to invite her closest friends to the Romance Festival. Merely to check it out, mind you. She didn't drink the enchanted tea or fantasize about weddings. But she did buy a t-shirt and a snow globe for her collection. She brought Lady along, of course. It was also an opportunity to practice making drinks at Planet Honey Pop.

Upon arrival, the Romance Guru was immensely popular. Clara passed up a personal love reading. No need to get a stranger to confirm that she is single for whatever reasons. Clara very much appreciates her life with Lady as it is.

Somehing was off with Brent that day however. Fair Lady seemed to receive all his attention.

On closer inspection, I think it has to do with the person standing next to him...

Clara and Caleb (those two names look good together!) completely agreed that pizza just can't be called food. Lady is working hard on getting Catarina to become a dog person too.

Back to the problem with Brent. To sum up, he has been calling Clara practically every single night, since they became friends, to ask if she wants to hang out - just the two of them. This is unsettling since he is married and happily so according to all known sources. He sometimes calls as late as 3 am. I worry.

Even Caleb seems to have noticed that Brent is always somewhere close to Clara, observing. And he seems concerned as well.

Meanwhile, Brent's husband, Brant, is having a heart-to-heart talk with Justin in the men's room. What's going on exactly?

Fortunately, Caleb knows how to lighten the atmosphere with some goofy karaoke! What an amiable soul he is.

But just as Caleb went to play with Lady, a certain someone stepped in to supervise. Brent, you're ruining the fun...

Brent: I can play with Lady too. You really aren't that special, Caleb.
Caleb: Right. Looks like someone is playing the violin out there. I'm going to have a look. *ignoring Brent*

The whole thing sadly got to Clara. Her solution? Go and taste the local Pufferfish Ngiri. It was excellent. Very.

Black underwear is still hot! Don't you forget that, @Playalot  :P

Later on, Brent sought counselling...or maybe he was just asking what his husband and Justin had talked about.

Clara's turn to try and raise the spirits! Her sophisticated sweetness continues to put a smile on my face.

Pet Lovers Inc. and friends took over the planet that night when the festival was over. The bartender went outside to watch fireworks and go to the bathroom. Clara saw an opportunity and snuck in behind the bar and made rounds for everyone. The most expensive, of course!

Yeah.

When Clara and Lady came home, Lady was so exhausted from social overload that she simply dragged herself behind mom and fell asleep instantly on the bathroom floor. Cute!

...

Lastly, some pictures of Clara's kitchen which I'm rather happy about. She's a foodie, so naturally she's got some Cool Kitchen Stuff.
