@FrancescaFioriI'm really too sad about the whole Candy/Liberty & Shota/Travis travesty. *weeps tears of blood
Since each heir needs to be good friends with the founder, though, I'm thinking Shota will be visiting. I'm too paranoid to let Murasaki and Sergio visit that house!
Both Joaquin and Sergio have been total champs in the skilling department.
LOL, poor Sergio gets overshadowed by Mossimo!!! But yeah, Massimo going up and down the stairs then making eyes at Moss each time he walked by was pretty funny. Moss made some great faces, too!
And you know that if I ever did a second RDC and choose an alien bloodline, I'll be struggling to find alien spouses!!!
I'm happy you like Pau Hana. Hope you get a kick out of the uniforms, lol. If you don't, it's okay, cuz I like them.
@wfgodotYes, of course. You are very welcome for the marriage, hehe.
Joaquin says: "Thanks for the compliment…I think."
The caterer was actually kneeling in preparation to use one of those party twirlers because, ever since City Living, my sims do birthday celebration stuff whenever someone cuts a wedding cake.
I enjoyed building the restaurant itself but have run out of ideas for the ground-floor landscaping. Or maybe I'm just lazy…
And I'll consider hiring the living status as our second waitperson, just for you. Do you think she'll wear that cowboy hat with her hula skirt?
@AlexI'm glad you like the restaurant. I started out with fencing around the patio but replaced it with half walls so I could place paintings to boost the environment rating. I wish I was better at planning…
Tamari finally finished by writing a song for the digital keyboard. It was cool that, instead of sheet music, he got some kind "digital composition" thingy in his inventory.
Alex, this RDC challenge can move very quickly and requires a lot of building. I think it's right up your alley!
@WhirligigSince your Morven founder, Rose, was married to Joaquin, you've played him so much longer than I have! So I'm very happy that you approve of his makeover.
He seems happy with his new life--he mostly paints or dances.
About Pau Hana, I wish I were better with landscaping. I think the restaurant should look densely lush and tropical, but I've been too lazy to use MOO to cram the greenery together.
When I get it looking more like I want it, the Gen3 heir will be ready to move out, anyway. *rationalizes my laziness
At least now I know to just let Murasaki hang on to the restaurant so other households can visit.
Week 4 with Murasaki Mori, Part IV
Thursday
Sergio: I'm excited about Pau Hana's grand opening today but these uniforms?
Tamari: Relax, Sergio! This is so much more comfortable than those butler suits!
Murasaki: Argh, my back is killing me. I'm not sure a grass skirt is the best look for me right now!
Chana: At least you don't have to wear these coconut shells. I'm feeling at risk!
Murasaki: From afar, you can see that the ground floor is in dire need of landscaping.
Sergio: We need an underground room, too, for idle adults to chill and the young'uns to do homework and skill.
Murasaki: Tamari and Sergio swiftly boost those initial three-star reviews to four stars. Way to go, guys!
Tamari: Oh please, it's Summer's table!
Waitress: Are you dining alone, sir?
Dominic Fyre: No, my dining companion will return soon. I'll order for the both of us.
That's right, Marcus! Get your 4-star butt back to Pau Hana!
Murasaki: We're not sure if boosting the environment of the kitchen helps the quality of the chef's cooking.
But it shows our support for the staff and also increases Pau Hana's resale value.
Murasaki: We're all glad you decided to come back to the restaurant, Marcus. But would you get out of the way, please?
Travis's review fell back to 3 stars when the waitress dropped their food, so I want to offer them complimentary drinks.
Chana: I'm in the background, reading up on Vampire Lore in my downtime…
Sergio: Yes, you're welcome, Murasaki! Here's your first five-star reviews!
Diner: So, what did you think of the food, Summer?
Summer: Who cares? Our waiters are total hunks!
Murasaki (sighs): Tamari's single so he's fine, but maybe I should ask Sergio wear a tank top?
Tamari: What are you so excited about over here by yourself, Sergio?
Sergio: Did you just hear that? Those two biddies called me a hunk and Murasaki got jealous! *squees
Tamari: And…?
Sergio: I think my "always a bridesmaid, never a bride" days are over!
Tamari: Dude, shouldn't it be "always a groomsman, never a groom"? Cuz you know you've never been a bridesmaid!
Sergio: Details, details! And anyway, the 1925 Listerine mouthwash ad that started the idiom uses "bride"!
Gia the waitress: You have 460 perk points now. Why not hire a second waiter?
Murasaki: Because I'm saving up for an additional chef which costs 700 points.
After that, I'll hire a second waiter. Don't worry, it shouldn't take long. Next shift, definitely!
Gia: Sounds good!
Murasaki: By the way, you wanna stop by the house and meet our closet?
I'm not really feeling the buzzcut with the coconut shells, you know what I mean?
Something new: The night before, I had Murasaki repeatedly hire/fire the restaurant staff at first to check out the available pool.
Every sim/alien that she fired now dislikes her and has a red friendship bar. Lesson learned. :-(
Murasaki: Autonomous shoulder massage? Yes, please! Have I told you lately how much I love you, Sergio?
Sergio: Only twice since noon, but who's counting?
Murasaki: I'm sorry, but I've decided that I don't like Travis, and not only because of his thing with Papa.
First, Travis skips out without paying. And he doesn't leave his 4-star review, either.
Then, he has the nerve to come back for his complimentary drink. What a jerk!
(Actually, he never drank it but did keep his friend from leaving. Still a jerk!)
Murasaki: Travis and friend take so long to leave that the dinner crowd starts arriving at 5 pm.
I don't want to tire out my staff, so I close the restaurant with 710 perk points.
As you can see, our rating rose to 2 stars. Not bad for our opening day!
Darn it, after closing Pau Hana, I discover that a second chef costs 750 points! Oh well.
But at this rate, we can hire both a second chef and a second waiter next time!
Sergio: Hello, is this Dr. Ferhat of Cut-N-Gut Health? Murasaki Mori's water has just broken.
I'm phoning to inform you that I'm taking her to the hospital right away.
Dr. Ferhat: Is this her first child?
Sergio: No, you idiot! This is her husband speaking! The baby hasn't been born yet!
Murasaki (after going for a microwave pastry): Yes, that's right. The doctor's expecting us.
By the way, have you seen my husband? He's got brown hair and is wearing a striped t-shirt?
Receptionist: Oh yeah, I saw a brunette with bedroom eyes head for the delivery room a few minutes ago.
Murasaki: Oh there you are, darling! Wow, you're writing another novel? You're so diligent!
Sergio: Yep, that's me! Paragon of diligence, always writing my novels!
Murasaki: Meet the next heir, Hiroshi Mori! Oh dear, he looks a bit unhappy!
Sergio: I can't believe that I'm a father! I mean, a real father!
And much to our surprise, Murasaki gives birth to twins. Meet Akira!
Murasaki: Wow, why isn't Akira fussing like Hiroshi?
Sergio: Because Akira's with me?
The twins' names reflect the fact that the Mori bloodline are all foodie geeks.
Our firstborn is named for Hiroshi Tamaki, the new Chairman of Iron Chef for its 2012 comeback in Japan. Everyone's seen the original Iron Chef, right?
Our second son is named for Akira Hayama from Watchette's currently fave manga "Food Wars." Akira excels in the use of spices when cooking.
If you're a foodie, this manga is a must-read (its anime version is also fantastic).
Sergio: Back at home, we feed our boys for the first time. That's Hiroshi with me.
Murasaki: I ask you, readers, does Sergio have the look of a sim who hates children?
So does that mean the Hates Children trait only affects toddlers and children, but not nooboos?
Friday
Tamari: Last night, after the nooboos arrive, I find the cowplant has matured. Impeccable timing!
I placed it in the basement with a stereo because I heard cowplants would dance.
Lo and behold, I discover my cowplant waving its head to pop music this morning! It's so cute! A screenshot scarcely does it justice!
Please try this at home!
Saturday
I am really struggling with this 20x15 lot. Here's the current state of the rooftop, whether you wanted to see it or not, lol.
Notice that I've had to, once again, lock up the woodworking table!
Murasaki: The twins age up to toddlers at night! That's the Gen3 heir Hiroshi with lavender hair.
Sergio: Brother Akira has white hair like his manga namesake.
Murasaki: We have them both start out by watching everybody. Both boys have dear Sergio's slightly darker skintone.
Sergio: I think Akira might have my Romeo lips rather than Murasaki's Behr rosebud lips.
In these solo shots of the boys, they really look a lot like me, I think.
Murasaki: The Mori's are batting a 1,000 for violet eyes so far! Both boys seem to be preparing to grow Papa's nose!
It's 11 pm so I'll have to switch households really soon.
But I don't wanna! *crosses arms like an Independent toddler
