The lack of green is a bummer, did you check her icon? If it's normal, then she's normal, the icons can have the right color while the baby skins don't. And it has honestly happened to me before, where the skin tones of the babies don't match up with their actual skin tones on either the sims or the icon. I never play with cc, ever, and I've had weird things happen with baby skin tone. No matter, Pippa will do amazingly well (honestly, the Benjaminz are flying through this challenge and making it look easy, I expect Pippa will do the same).

Anyways, onto the Moris! lol, no one can resist Tamari, no one. Is he going to do a little pollinating in between restaurant hosting and mentoring his niece/nephew? Poor Moss, getting caught up in both of his rival families. He really needs to learn to chill. And really, ladies? Really? Ugh. You're not far behind, Murasaki, keep pushing! Um, I'm not sure that Lilith counts as an enemy given that she's not part of the Sciarri bloodline- I always assumed that the enemies had to be founders, heirs, and spares. That said, go Moris! Kick some rears! I really do love all of your families but I think Murasaki and Tamari are my faves at the moment. Honestly, thank you for posting this story, it and your enthusiasm for the challenge are really keeping me on track with my own Rivals.

@dontmindme

OMG, you are a lifesaver, or at least, a challenge saver!  After all the conniving I had to do to hunt that vampric super-speed runner down, you're right! She's not part of the founder's bloodline; Lilith is "only" related to the founder's spouse. *sighs heavily
I guess she'll have to go back and kick Selene's butt. :(  But Lilith was good practice, maybe.
Well, thanks to you, I won't be moving her out yet. I'd just finished fixing up all four museum spots then placing Murasaki's cheap items. Seriously, I can't thank you enough for catching my mistake and letting me know immediately! I'm so grateful that you've been reading this silly excuse of a story, lol.

Well, now I'm really in suspense about how Pippa will age up! And I've never known that you can tell the skintone color from an icon. In fact, I don't even know which icon you're referring to. I'll have to check when Murasaki has a nooboo.

In other news, I'm so glad to be moving out of Shota's house. *rolls eyes And I thought Candy and Liberty were inexcusable, sheesh!
So...the new plan of action is: make the right enemy this time, cake up, and move out pronto. The thing with Moss is he's easily available because he's maxed Violin; he'll visit any venue where there's a violin for the affordable price of $100.
I'm thinking all my sims should max a musical instrument and jog!

Even if you don't do a full-on story, you could still have a thread where you occasionally post your stats and your founders/heirs portraits. It's fun to see how everyone approaches the challenge. :D
Okay, I need to stop looking at images of restaurants online and get Murasaki moved out! Again, I'm so grateful for your quick-witted remark!

Huh, I didn't know Sims would cheat on rotational play, although it makes total sense that they can. Poor Shota!

I love Moss and his eyebrows in that suit :D

Actually, I think it's an issue with the Sauna. Like the game thinks having it on in the sauna is friendly, but of course it raises romance? IDK, but I've had watched sims with friendsly relationships out of nowhere head for the sauna during club gatherings and so forth. This can be a good thing or a bad thing - it makes it easier for pollinators to do their jobs, but for the rest of the household, it can be a problem.

And yeah, I was wondering if Lilith counted as an enemy, as well, so I'm glad someone let you know about that.

And the reason for Massimo's avoidance of Moss is explained! Clever boy...

What, none of Summer's antics in this chapter? ;)

Ouch.  I know your pain with that pause button!  lol.
Nice, I think Chana is gorgeous!  Gahh, the look on Tamari's face!
Poor Shota.  Sheesh I think any other guy might not be so disappointed with that situation.

Moss, Moss!  He's so willing to be open with the other families!  lol.  Tamari and Moss, now friends?  Or at least not enemies.  hey, hugging!  hugging means something!
And I had to laugh at Lilith and Murasaki becoming chatty after you left them.
Very respectable efforts to become enemies on Murasaki's part.  Both with the attempted club gatherings and then actually knocking on the door.  lol!  Though I see from the comments that it is all for naught :(

Ah, so Massimo just needs to move out and then he can be friendly?  I get a bit of a desperate vibe for his mother to hurry up and finish.

@Alex
I really hope the cheating doesn't spread. The pink bars were cute on the teen heirs when my back was turned; they're not cute when they tear a household apart… Grrrr.
I'm glad you like that shot of Moss--he's always looking so earnest!

@Whirligig
In my case, I don't think it's just the sauna. The weirdness happens even without a sauna. Also, none of the households have a sauna at home. And that was this challenge's first trip to Perfect Balance Spa, so….weird, just weird.
Hahaha, by comparison, Summer appears like almost angelic in this chapter!

@wfgodot
I really have to laugh at myself over my mistake about Lilith. I tried so hard to hunt her down, even resorting to joining the Knights of the Hedge. Then, when I arrived at the house, I was disappointed that I couldn't fight Lilith in the knight outfit. Oh well.
And yeah, Massimo was ready to move last Saturday/Sunday, but his mother needs to get her L10 promotion before he can leave, poor guy!

@PeregrineTook
Hey, make up your mind! Do you feel bad for Shota or what? Lol.
Nah, don't feel bad cuz it gets worse…

Week 4 with Murasaki Mori, Part II

Sunday

Hey, Shota, sorry about missing a shot of you in your Level 10 Chef uniform!
Shota: No problem. I'm just glad to be done. And now I'm here to help keep Murasaki's needs filled while she plays.

Tamari: Since Papa and Yuki occasionally rally the troops for Murasaki and since Moss is willing, I keep learning the violin.
Can you believe that Moss and I are good friends now?

Massimo: Why is Moss here with that Tamari dude?

Have I been forgotten so easily?

Shota: I get a message about a vampire break-in. Could it be that Massimo?
But all he's doing is walking up and down the stairs…

Tamari: What's going on? Why am I feeling like such a third wheel?

Massimo: (So now he's good friends with Tamari now?)
Moss: (That face! He's breaking my heart!)

Tamari: I've had it! If Massimo walks by one more time, I'm gonna call him out on it!

Monday

Murasaki: It's almost 8 am when I finally reach Level 10 Guitar, thanks to Auntie Kumar's tireless mentoring!

When I get home, I urge Mama to make up with Papa so she gives him a kiss.
Sheesh, how was I supposed to know that Papa and Travis had pink bars?
Now Liberty and Travis are both worthlessly Very Sad. Gah!

Truthfully, I'm very unhappy about these unwanted relationships! I hope this won't happen to all my households!

Murasaki: I submit my museum collection: 7 Sunsurfer frogs.
Obviously, I'm aiming for speed and not high value!

Tamari: Where are we?
Murasaki: This is the Sciarri residence in eastern Newcrest.
Tamari: But why are we here? I thought you were done!
Papa's buying back Dem Butlers and we're holding your birthday party there.

Murasaki: Thanks to @dontmindme, I realized I need to fight the Sciarri founder.
Tamari: But what do you need me here for?
Murasaki: I'm scared as heck, bro! I brought you along for moral support.

Murasaki: I find Selene in the living room and start arguing with her.
Before long, the others swoop in one by one…to dance?
It's weird trying to argue with someone who won't stop dancing.

Murasaki: Oh no, you don't sneak off to work while I'm trying to declare you my enemy!

There, it's done! Now I'm truly done with all my requirements! Where did Tamari go?

Murasaki: Good thing I brought you, Tamari.
Just knowing you were upstairs shaking your groove thang with Diego gave me strength.
Tamari: What can I say? I'm supportive like that!

Shota: By popular demand, I buy back the restaurant and call the rest of the household over.
I regret ever having sold Dem Butlers Café now! It's lost its high ratings and exemplary staff.

On the other hand, I get back my purchased perks and unused perk points.

Murasaki: I'd always wanted to visit Dem Butlers and sit at this large table.
I wish we all could have come here in this café's prime.
Papa hired all new staff, and one of the new waiters is rocking his uniform.
And there's Sergio at the other end of the table! I invited him, too, just because.

Murasaki: Remind me not to invite these losers to my next birthday party!

Murasaki: Well that's much, much better, folks! I'm now a family-oriented young adult!
Sorry to cake-up and run, people, but I've got to get moving!

My new home is the 20x15 Comfy Cubby, the northern-most lot in Newcrest.
As soon as I arrive, I consecutively phone Sergio, my brother Tamari, and that reflexologist Chana Ferrell.

Happy birthday, Tamari! Now you're an young adult, too!
Tamari: Isn't that your strawberry cake from Dem Butlers Café? Did you nick it?
Murasaki: And if I did….?

Tamari: What a surprise that we're starting by growing a garden!
What can I say? I love the gardening skill…

Can you believe Moss sent me a happy birthday text? He's such a peacemaker!

Murasaki: Turns out that Chana had a daughter so she moves in, too! Little Kennedi is a vegetarian.
I notice Kennedi chatting with Yuki, so I buy her a chess table so she can start on Whiz Kid.

Murasaki: And while the others are gardening and playing chess, I've invited Sergio downstairs for a "chat."

Murasaki: After all the usual developments, including a gold-medal date, I propose but he refuses!
But then he proposes and I accept. We're engaged! *squees

Murasaki: Simmers tend to avoid Sergio because he hates children but, you know, he has his assets!
Like, he has great taste in sleepwear!

Murasaki: At exactly 7:33 pm, I learn that I'm eating for two!
Check out my little first-trimester baby bump!

As for Sergio, he has a Tense +1 Conception Tension moodlet from trying for baby and a Tense +2 Troubling News from hearing that I'm expecting.
But he has so many Happy moodlets going that they bury those negative moodlets. We're good!

Welp, we Mori's have the lowest museum value at the moment.
But I conceived a day earlier than Moss's wife Sofia, so we're still in the running.

Oh, poor Massimo. I'm sure Moss hasn't forgotten you, Mr. Stallion.

That sucks about all those silly relationship woes. Shota and Travis, Candy and Liberty Lee - I see what you mean about Summer being comparatively well-behaved.

Yeah, I haven't done much retail/restaurant managing in game myself, but I would expect compared to the other options, it's much more hands-on? Not as much time for Murasaki to work on high-valued paintings or sculptures - frogs will have to do.

Nice job showing Selene you aren't to be messed with!

Aww drat, that sucks that you lost your restaurant rating and staff and everything. :(

SERGIO! Ooooh I'm so happy to see him getting some attention! You take good care of that boy, Murasaki, he's good value! I definitely have new favourites now. ;)

Way to go, Moris! You keep at it. The Benjaminz only seem really far ahead because they started with one of the most lucrative items, Paintings, while both of the other lines still have that option open. Additionally, it will be tough for them to add another high value item, books, without accidentally maxing the skill while, again, Sciarris have that option open if they want it (I am surprised Murasaki or Moss didn't use their books, come to think of it). And, the Moris have no reward traits to buy so they can spend their points on traits that will increase their museum value while the Sciarris can't buy anything and the Benjaminz have to purchase 12,000 points worth of rewards. This race is far from over, museum value-wise.

Anyway, yay, Tamari for dancing the night away while your sister yelled at a vampire!! Lol at Massimo breaking in into the Moris while Moss was tutoring Tamari, that just made me laugh so hard. You boys aren't convincing anyone. Sergio as spouse, huh? Okay, I can dig it. Haven't really seen him on the forum so it'll be interesting to see how his looks blend with the Mori features. Also, I love Murasaki's purple getup this update, it is amazing (and I may have to steal it for one of my heirs).

Dancing and fighting.  It's like West Side Story!
Such an odd bromance triangle!
It's too bad Dem Butlers dropped so much while under other management.  At least it's back in the right hands now  :=)
Can't wait to see the new restaurant!  And congrats on the soon-to-arrive nooboo!!!

Congrats to Murasaki on the birthday, moving out, AND on the marriage, and also on the pregnancy.

How funny that Tamari and Moss are now good friends.  Oh but Massimo!  So jealous, and so cute about it.  I loved all their inner thoughts, especially Tamari picking up on it and suddenly feeling like a third wheel.

Speaking of Tamari, I can see that he is great moral support!

I think I'm going to enjoy Murasaki's life with the bros.

@Whirligig
With all the relationship weirdness happening with her parents, Murasaki couldn't wait to move out of there!
Before this RDC, I'd only managed a restaurant once for a tournament challenge last year, so I didn't realize what would happen if Shota sold the restaurant. Now I do, lol.
What really slowed Murasaki down was the Bestselling Author aspiration, which she didn't finish until Saturday. Moss, on the other hand, finished his teen aspiration by Tuesday. And Murasaki's father, Shota, was the first of the founders to complete all of his requirements. I blame those elusive bestsellers!
I'm glad you're supporting Sergio! He thanks you!

@dontmindme
I didn't choose books for Murasaki's museum item because she used most of them to reach $25k publishing income and I wanted her to take the remaining 5 with her to the new house.
I didn't have Moss choose books either because, unless the sim is in the Writer career, they take too long. Moss also took his novels with him to publish at his new home.
I'm going to focus on speed rather than museum value. The vampires are at too much of a disadvantage without reward traits and I don't want to keep non-vamps in the Sciarri homes just for the portraits.
I'm glad Massimo choosing the Casbah Gallery for his break-in made you laugh. It was so surprising that he showed up there. He might be stalking Moss, lol.
By the way, what bloodline options are you playing?

@PeregrineTook
Your Westside Story remark cracked me up--every now and then, I remember it then laugh all over again.
And about the restaurant, I feel like I'm constantly building! I had a great idea for the restaurant and am now having trouble with the implementation, grrrr.
Also, my simverse is inundated with aliens! Help!

@wfgodot
Lol, Murasaki and Sergio are engaged, but they don't get married until this chapter.
Massimo is so weird! Shota gets a notice about the vampire break-in so I watch Massimo.
All he's doing is walking up and down the stairs. Oh yeah, he did some hissing over by the children activity table. And then Moss making those yearning faces. Those two are too funny!
I'm so glad to get away from the madhouse of Murasaki's parents.

Week 4 chez Murasaki Mori, Part III

Monday

Murasaki: It's really been a long day, but I've finally decided on everyone's household roles in this house.
Sergio: I've quit my Tech Guru job and joined the Writer career, so Murasaki and I won't need to work in different rooms!
Murasaki: I'm also in the Writer career. After finishing my daily task, I'll be mentoring Serio in writing.
Due to his new career, he'll zoom though the first tiers of the Bestselling Author aspiration, I bet!

Joaquin: I've also switched jobs, from Entertainer to Painter. I'll probably quit once we get one of the nice easels, though.
Sergio and I both had the Fabulously Wealthy aspiration. Like Sergio, I can work on it on the side.
As a painter, I'll have a better chance of completing Fabulously Wealthy than as a comedian!

Also, what do you think of my new look? I've gone green to match my eyes.
You can see Shota Mori's house behind Joaquin.

Chana: Watchette decided that I should have lavender hair to identify me as a Mori ally.
My duties are gardening, woodworking, and pre-work massages for Murasaki.
Kennedi: Mommy, why did you have brown hair but I have blond hair? And where's my daddy?
Chana: I don't know the answers to either of your questions, Kennedi.
But look, you have three uncles in the house!

Tamari: My second song for Musical Genius seems to be taking forever! I hate this aspiration!
As do I, Tamari, as do I. But you're almost finished with that song, so you might as well keep playing.
Then you can forget about Musical Genius until you have nothing better to do.

Tamari: So I finish writing this song, then what, sis?
Murasaki: Let's see, why don't you mentor Joaquin in Painting until he's level 5, then you can start painting, too.

Good evening, Yuki. Why are you still sitting there?
Yuki: I'm not sure. Hey, what's going to happen to me in this challenge? Do I just stay in that wacky Mori house now?
I hope that craziness isn't infectious!
I'd like to keep you with the Mori bloodline, if you don't mind. Murasaki and Sergio are hoping for a son, so maybe….
Yuki: Well, you better make it fast, Watchette! You see Paolo Rocca back there, giving me the eye?

Sergio: After Murasaki started mentoring me, I realize that the daily task for a Level 1 Writer is reading.
If I must read, I might as well read a Vampire Tome. Time to search for information on vampires!
I need Level 6 Vampire Lore to craft garlic objects, right?

I spent several RL hours trying to figure out how to plant a cowberry in the basement.
As everyone knows, it initially can't be planted in a planter.
Sadly, I filled in a section of the light wells that surround the basement floor.

That didn't work either, so I even more sadly moved the outer wall of the toddler room.
Uni: I've heard of "tiny living," but this is ridiculous!

Sergio: There you go! I completed my daily task, reached Level 6 Vampire Lore, and crafted 2 garlic wreaths.
Is it just me, or does the house look like it's crying?

Tuesday

Murasaki: It's been great having Yuki as a member of our Club Enak!
She not only mentors little Kennedi in Logic but also mentors her mother Chana in handiness.

Tamari: With all the recent fighting and Murasaki preparing to move out, the rocket ship's been ignored.
Moss Benjaminz was the first sim to use it to travel to Sixam, and I'm the first Mori to do so.

Tamari: When I return home, I find Sergio crafting a knife block when he should be downstairs writing.
Also, Yuki keeps staring at him for some reason.
Murasaki: That's it! I'm kicking Yuki out of Club Enak!

Murasaki: After Sergio gets home from his first day at work, we throw a wedding party at San Myshuno's Center Park.
My groom is devastatingly dashing!

And he's also a fantastic kisser!

Joaquin: It's an odd feeling, you know? I've always been the bridegroom before.
And, because he hates children, Sergio's always been the helper.
But my life now isn't bad. And mixing drinks is pretty awesome.

Murasaki: Speaking of awesome, the caterer kneels in deference to my superior wisdom.
And Summer, stop pretending like we're friends. We're not!

Sergio: Joaquin goes from mixing drinks to mixing beats, and we all dance to the music.
It's been a perfect evening!

Murasaki: After the party, I take Chana on a super quick trip to Granite Falls.
She learns the woodworking schematic but I'm just appreciating that big ugly thing!

Wednesday

Murasaki: I'm so glad you've been such a sport about changing careers, Sergio!
Sergio: Well, it was the right move, wasn't it? Now we're always sitting side by side!
If I'd stayed in the Tech Guru career, I would have spent all day in the Focused Room instead of here with you!

Murasaki: And you're doing so well, Sergio! I know you miss working out, Sergio, since you're an active sim.
Sergio: I'm not worried about it! After the restaurant gets on track, I'll have time for that!

Sergio: After I get home from work, Murasaki takes me along to Bargain Bend in Willow Creek.
Murasaki: We spend a few hours here, trying to figure out the restaurant's layout.
I'm going to call it "Pau Hana," which is a Hawai'ian phrase.
It literally mean "work is finished," implying the time for relaxing and socializing after work.

Murasaki: I'm so frustrated about the restaurant staff!
When I try to hire a cook, a waiter, and a host, all the job candidates are mostly alien with one or two disguised aliens.
I even get one living statue. Are there any more human not-in-the-world sims left in our simverse?

By the way, I still haven't started landscaping for Pau Hana but I check Pau Hana's resale value and it's already over $89,000!

Murasaki: A lot will be happening tomorrow, since Sergio and I are both off, so I'm closing this update here.

Coming next: Pau Hana's "Grand Opening" and the Birth of the Heir

Okay, first things first: Candy how DARE YOU! I'm so angry I want to start a new file, find Candy Behr and slap her silly! How on earth her eyes could ever have strayed from Shota's moneymaker I have no idea, but I am livid. I know they fixed autonomous romantic relationships happening with random townies, but I guess for sims within the same household it's still fair game while the Watcher's away. Grrr!

Anyway, glad Murasaki and Tamari have fled to greener, more faithful pastures. The Hawai'ian restaurant looks amazing! What fun!

I literally did a double-take at Joaquin's makeover. Daaaaaaang! Yeah, the green definitely brings out his eyes and that stubble! Very nice. I like Sergio's new look, too, and I'm very happy he gets to be the spouse this time. Such a cutie!

Of course, my favorite part of recent posts has been Mossimo. I loved Massimo stalking the art gallery and just happening to moodily walk past Moss mentoring Tamari a few thousand times. Don't worry, darling! No one has forgotten you. I mean, how could they!

How funny about your alien invasion! Too bad you don't have an alien bloodline, I guess. I know finding alien spouses gets to be a challenge in later generations for some simmers, but it looks like you have a real bumper crop! I like Braxton, even though he did steal your new cc hair prematurely. :)

You know... I don't know why I congratulated you on the marriage.  Obviously I could see that it was simply an engagement.  I think I meant to say engagement.  But... I suppose now I can congratulate you on the marriage for real.  I almost thanked you for the marriage - so yes, I am losing my mind.

Joaquin's looks have improved much under your hand, but I think Sergio is the real winner in this case.  There's only so much you can do with Joaquin.  (I don't like him especially much.)

The kneeling thing is so weird!  I've watched Cam get on his knees to set a plate on the ground before.  Why.

I, too, really like the Hawaiian restaurant.  What a fun theme and a cool design.  Personally... I would totally hire the living statue.  Like I would jump on that.

Wow, that's a lot of aliens :o I too love your restaurant. No wonder all the alients want to work there - hopefully some other Sims will too!

Oh, poor Tamari, I feel your pain. I hate that aspiration too. But at least he gets to look all soulful and Tamari-y while he writes his interminable songs ;D

Oh, and congrats, Murasaki and Sergio!
