@Alex I have no idea how Ilaria gained weight since both her parents aren't chubby. Her father is very slender, even. I agree--Laszlo has to be the most distinctly different toddler I've ever seen. When he's a child, do you think Laszlo still resembles his father?
Massimo is disappointed to learn that he didn't make your hair stand on end!
@PeregrineTook Yumiko is constantly flitting off when her action queue empties.
She has max Gardening and Handiness, though, so I cut her a lot of slack. Sometimes I think I should give my sims more free time but, hey, they have two free weeks every cycle to do whatever they want! Yumiko chooses to fish and sizzle under the sun. Whenever I hear an incoherent shout, though, I know she's up to no good!
Suddenly this week, everyone is all over the vampires, lol. I've never attempted rotational play like this, so I'm also enjoying the random visits. I'd changed Candy's outfit before switching household so I'm glad she passed by to flaunt it.
@wfgodot As for Selene being out for blood, I sometimes feel like I should make the vampires act edgier and scary, but I don't really enjoy playing mean, horrific sims. Also, the sim she's angry about is Summer so it's almost like two birds with one stone, lol.
Rotational play has been a lot more fun that I'd imagined. It's such a laugh to return to a family and check all their relationship panels. It's surprising who they choose to befriend or despise.
Caleb not being able to finish his vampire aspiration doesn't make me fail any challenge requirements, since only the founders and heirs have requirements. It does suggest that none of my vampire heirs should ever choose the Good Vampire aspiration because, unless days away are counted toward the goal, an heir would take forever to move out, like 2 weeks after reaching the aspiration's fourth tier.
Week 3 with Selene Sciarri, Part II
Monday
Ilaria: Here I am twirling with my ever-so-cool Papa!
At 4:30 am, he receives my birthday notice but I'm trying to max my final skill, Movement.
Diego: Yes, Ilaria has certainly put on weight.
It's alarming that two hours of dancing hasn't put a dent in that tummy!
Selene: I hear that both the other founders have reached Level 9 in their careers, while I'm only a Level 6 Scientist!
To earn promotions faster, I've started working on my charisma.
Strangely, I can still level charisma, even though my reflection no longer appears in the mirror!
Yumiko: Scratch that! I'm Level 7 now and I'm going to catch up or bust!
Now for two more breakthroughs before my pre-work massage…
Yumiko: Once we finish building the rocket, it's grown light out so I'll need to return indoors.
Caleb: I try to invite our random townie to help me with the second upgrade, but I don't get that option.
Yumiko: Maybe if I introduce myself to him first, I'll be able to invite him to help upgrade…
Travis?! Is that you? Why are you even in this neighborhood, anyway? You should be home sleeping.
Selene: Who is this ignorant human who brazenly walks into our house, uninvited?
Yumiko: Sorry, Selene, I introduced myself to him because we wanted his help to upgrade the rocket ship, but it didn't work.
Selene: So now he can just breeze into our home? Is he unaware of the dangers?
Yumiko: Apparently, yes. Obviously, not.
Laszlo: *shows toy to Travis
Vladislaus: My little Laszlo, I have returned! Who is that human chatting with my son?
Diego: Right? He's so oblivious! The only reason he's safe is that we're so busy with our toddlers at the moment!
Vladislaus: Did you not recognize him as one of the humans from the Mori household?
Caleb: And he simply waltzes into our home all alone? What an idiot!
Travis: Listen, dude. I helped with the rocket ship, so there's no need to insult me!
Diego: You think he's related to your blond stalker, Caleb?
Travis: Related to Summer? That's really the last straw! What a low blow! I believe I'll escort myself out!
Laszlo: When I'm older, human, I'll grant you the honor of serving as one of my feeders…
Caleb: I've been fertilizing and evolving our orchard of plasmafruit trees, though quality plasmafruit seems to offer little benefit.
Oh well, gardening is not a bad hobby for a gentleman vampire such as I, except for my damp hems.
Caleb: But surely, a handsome vampire like myself can find a more screenshot-worthy pastime.
Also, I deeply regret that I have only one child. *ponders sadly
Caleb: Watchette, this is not what I meant about a more photogenic hobby!
But being the first vampire in outer space is not all bad, except for the baggy spacesuit.
One small step for a vampire, one great leap for vampirekind!
(Also, I won't be able to help Massimo with rocket upgrades without learning more about Rocket Science.)
Ilaria: Not too long after our Founder leaves for work, I max my final skill (Movement).
Papa immediately lights the birthday candles and helps me age up.
I'm sorry this is not a good post-birthday look at me, but I'm stuck with bad hair and ugly pink boots!
Please wait until the Founder gets home, when I can visit the dresser!
Caleb: I don't understand why Laszlo and Vladislaus aren't friends, Lilith. They spend so much time together.
Lilith: Vlad has the Evil trait. Whenever he and Laszlo start getting along, he says or does something that his son dislikes.
Caleb: Awww, that's too bad!
The sight of Vladislaus playing with Laszlo never fails to entertain me.
While I muse over Vlad's unexpected paternal devotion, it dawns on me that he suffers from the baby-daddy-never-leaves syndrome.
Oh well, Laszlo has greatly benefited from this glitch (serves those deadbeat baby daddies right!).
While Lilith mentors Massimo, Vlad nearly single-handedly trains Laszlo to Top-Notch Toddler.
Massimo: Back from my first day of high school with a B grade and looking good!
Another teen sim enamored of his own awesomeness…Indulge yourself, Massimo! Today, you deserve it!
Selene: Nice! My elements finally arrived. Now I can make a wormhole generator.
Yumiko: You went to work today in your dark form?
Selene: You got a problem with that?
Yumiko: I don't know. Ever since that sim from the Mori house tried hitting on Caleb, you've been…different.
Lilith: What's going on with Laszlo? His Communication skill is at 334%!
Vladislaus: I have no idea what's happening. But all we can do is wait it out, I guess.
Ilaria: Now that Auntie Sciarri is back from work, I get a makeover.
Would you mind waiting to see my everyday outfit?
Auntie Lilith is mentoring me and I want to reach Level 7 Mental before her son Laszlo's birthday!
Massimo: I bet you thought this was simply another shot showcasing my glory. No, it's not!
Here I am in my dark form, preparing to learn the Gardening skill.
I'll need at least Level 5 to graft plants for the garden requirement, so I've joined the Manual Labor career, too.
Selene: Diego is really on the ball. He's already painted two portraits of Massimo for the museum.
When he painted my two portraits our first week, they were only worth $722.
But now Diego has almost maxed the Painting skill and Massimo's two portraits are worth $2,643.
Diego: For my work-from-home assignment, I need to review a performance so we all head for San Myshuno after nightfall.
While I critique someone busking in Spice Market, everyone finds something to do.
Caleb and Vladislaus play basketball, Ilaria plays on the monkey bars, Massimo reads up on vampire lore, and so on.
Caleb: Out of the corner of my eye, I'm shocked to see Massimo being consumed by a blue octopus or something.
What is going on with Massimo and what's with the bubbles?
Diego: Belatedly, I double-check my assignment to see that I should have reviewed a performance in the Arts Quarter, not Spice Market.
It's quite late, but we all travel there so I can complete my task. Sheesh!
Oh hey, isn't that Sophie Bjergsen?
Tuesday
Lilith: I get Laszlo's birthday notice in the morning.
Since I'm mentoring Ilaria at the time, her mother Yumiko helps Laszlo age up.
Laszlo: I have an extremely small window of time for a makeover, between Auntie Selene's massage and her departure for work.
And when Ilaria returns home from school, we take a picture together!
I'm really surprised how Laszlo turned out. He has really beautiful eyes! Of course, we already knew that Ilaria would be adorable…
Lilith: Here's a close-up of my son. He has his father's deep-set, grey eyes and my rosebud-like lips.
I almost hope now that he doesn't get Vlad's nose on his teen birthday!
Massimo: Farewell, I leave now to risk life and limb on five missions to outer space.
Maybe I'll even be able to finish Nerd Brain tomorrow!
And that's the last we see of toddlers in this challenge until the Gen2 heirs move out and start families of their own!
