Everyone seems to have had a productive first day! Salim is a good choice, I actually have him in mind as a potential spouse for either one of my Rival Dynasties or an as-of-right-now secret project I'm starting. Those royalty payments sure will come in handy in the long-run, and I'm sure they'll make beautiful nooboos together.

Candy to Shota wa kakkōiidesu. Resutoran de sorera ni kōun. (My Japanese is rusty so I'm sorry if the grammar isn't perfect xD )

Your vampires have me really excited, I can't wait to see what happens with them. Vladislaus (can that name be more Slavic) seems like an intimidating figure and I hope he comes into play later. I like Caleb a lot so far, he seems like a nice mix of classic and modern romantic vampire sensibilities.

I think all the couples are perfect for each other, great start. I especially like my favourite male sim Salim is with my girl Jade  :D and that she is carrying a nooboo already.

In regards to green names, to help you  Girls: Apple, Beryl, Emerald, Olive, Fern, Mint, Lime, Midori, Clover Boys: Forest, Leaf, Moss, Denver, (means green valley) Celadon, Hunter Unisex (though i always use it as a girl): Sage. I like your Shamrock suggestion too, maybe if you get boy and girl twins call them Shamrock and Clover!

Such a nice start Oshizu.  An hour searching for a knock knock joke that starts with Jade :)

Jade and Salim will make beautiful children, I can't wait to see.  And Candy seems perfect for Shota.  I had to laugh at his building though.   All that money and they get a few tents and chess tables.  I understand it's mostly going to the restaurant though.  I'm not very familiar with the RDC, so I should probably check the rules.  Haven't read many, so I'm not sure if this is a common strategy or just your own smarts.

There's your Caleb!  I'll be looking forward to watching him and Selene.

I love the choices.

Jade and Salim are going to do great.

Shota and Candy. Now there's a great couple. I can't wait to see those nooboos. I'm loving the living area.

Caleb and Selene now that's romance! Vampires just ooze of romance.

Thanks for the compliment on my builds. I glad you like them.

Niche Nerds in Newcrest (RDC): The Benjaminz/Week 1
« Reply #19 on: February 01, 2017, 06:23:31 AM »
@FrancescaFiori   I’m so happy that you approve of all the pairings! I can’t wait to see all the nooboos, either.  You’re absolutely right about Miko, she’s a Gen5 Mori and Shota’s Gen9—what does that make them?

@NexttoNormal   With only 5 hours each, that first day was really intense!  Ooh, a secret project! Can’t wait until you unveil that one! Oddly, Salim is not as productive or focused as his co-worker/roomie (whom you’ll meet in this chapter).  Now that I know we can do a mix of shops and restaurants, I have some different ideas for Shota’s lineage.

@cyclonenic  What a coincidence that your “faves” got paired! And thanks so much for the naming suggestions. I’ve written them down so I can find them easily again.

@wfgodot   I actually looked at dozens of knock-knock jokes but came up with nothing, haha. As for Shota’s “home,” I don’t think there is a “common” strategy for the restaurant lineage yet. But each household only had 5+ hours on Day 1, so Shota only had time to move in his potential love and his restaurant helpers. We ran out of time to pick a restaurant lot and build a restaurant/residence there, so hence the mini-campground. It might be funny to run a restaurant with helpers who all have the Gloomy trait…

@sdhoey   I’m glad you like the pairings. I’m really sorry about Shota’s “home.” I’ve never tried rotational play and I got stressed playing each household only 5+ hours on the first day. But now the household is together. I have no idea if they’ll get friendly while I play the first household. But at least they can eat, sleep, and skill. You know, the basics, lol.  I also really love the Selene/Caleb pairing but, unlike you, I’m really bad at writing romantic scenes; I can only do silly…

1.01  Niche Nerds in Newcrest: The Benjaminz/Week 1

Monday

Jade: Are you sure this is the home of your co-worker, Salim?
Salim: Yes, she said it was in Countryside Windenburg near the Shrieking Llama Bar.

Jade: So, Maaike, would you and your roommate Ulrike like to move in with us?
Our house isn’t much now. But we’ll all be living in luxury before long!
Maaike: I hate to leave this lovely neighborhood, but your project sounds so exciting, Jade! Okay, we’re in!

Jade: Salim and I prepare to make bank, together with our new roomies Maaike (L5 Writing) and Ulrike (L5 Painting).
Salim: Thanks to the influx of household funds, Watchette builds us a house.
Jade: It doesn’t have any wallpaper or flooring yet, but it has two bedrooms plus a big room for the nursery/kids’ room.

Ulrike: I quit my job this morning. But that doesn’t mean I’m not busy!
After the other three leave for work, the gardener Jade hired yesterday arrives and I persuade her to move in. She’s an adult vegetarian glutton insider.
She will garden, of course, but also fish, cook, and clean. Everything the "artistes" don't do!

Ulrike: Next, I spot that cutie pie Akira Kibo near our house and invite him over.

Ulrike: Looks like I’ll give birth one day after Jade does. See what I mean about getting busy?

Salim: With the $20,000 that Yumiko Murakami brings with her, Maaike and I set up a writing room only we can access.
Maaike: Sorry, Yumiko. If you want to play video games, use your phone!

Yumiko: Jade and Ulrike, would you go with me to Granite Falls?
I need to get my hands on some Elderberry, Huckleberry, and Fireleaf.
Ulrike: Sure, it’ll be faster harvesting with the three of us.
Jade: While we’re there, I’ll buy some more plants for our garden, too.

Salim: Late that night, we have a visitor with a wan complexion.
Looks like somebody in the household needs to reach Level 5 Vampire Lore so we can make garlic objects…

Tuesday

Jade: I go into labor tomorrow night around 9 pm, instead of at 2 pm.
My nooboo is ignoring, it seems, the time Watchette spent with the other founders on Sunday.
And we finally decide who would have a son and who would have a daughter!
Ulrike and I agree that we’ll have cuter children if I listen to Pop and she listens to Alternative music.

Ulrike: That Yumiko is overjoyed about getting access to the writing room today.
Watchette only needs her to study vampire lore so we can have garlic objects!
And what’s with that tasteless everyday outfit! Watchette? Fix that, please.
Sorry, but we can’t use the dresser until everyone’s back from work, remember?

Wednesday

Yumiko: That vampire’s been standing out front for the past two hours.
Finally, I reach Level 5 Vampire Lore and can craft two garlic braids!
He doesn’t seem to like garlic, yet he doesn’t leave…Ahhh, he finally leaves at 4 am.
Now, at last, I can head to bed…erm, my tent! *casts an evil eye at Watchette

Jade: While grateful for the promotion, my work uniform is unbelievably atrocious!

Jade: After going into labor, I head for the hospital with my husband to have the baby delivered.
But I’m utterly unimpressed by Salim who plays Blicbloc thoroughout my delivery.

Our greenboo, Moss, on the other hand, is a wee bundle of awesome!

Thursday

Jade: Salim and I throw a small, primitive wedding party this evening after he and Maaike get home from work. Extremely primitive.
No less romantic, however, despite its simplicity.

Maaike: I begged Jade to invite my friend Edward Munch to the wedding.
Yet he shames me by being a discourteous guest. Woodworking, Edward, really?

Ulrike: After the ceremony, I quietly head for the hospital alone so I don’t spoil the party.
I bring home a little girl, who I’ve named Akiko, after her father Akira.
And yes, I’d planned for Jade to have a girl and Ulrike to have a boy, but I got distracted and had them listen to the wrong music! Doh.

Friday

Jade: Despite a pregnancy test, Moss’s infancy is unexpectedly shortened to two days, which is perfectly fine with me.
My little Moss, is now an Inquisitive toddler.

Saturday .

Salim: I have the day off and enjoy spending time with Moss. You want me to read you a book?

Ulrike: This evening, Akiko ages up to a Clingy toddler and I dress her in purple like me.
It’s too early to tell who she resembles. I must remember to invite Akira over soon to meet her.
Do you think she has my eyes, though?

Well I know your toddlers are in great hands and will grow up wonderfully!  Just wait.  Just wait until you see mine, the little devil.  Oh man is that kid unfortunate to have me as a watcher.

The house looks lovely!  I love that you built separate bathroom stalls!  I'm surprised about the arrival of the vampire.  I don't have the pack but I was under the impression they'd pretty much mind their own business unless you tried to involve them.  Seeing as you're not even in their neighborhood!

I adore Salim playing BlicBloc while she was having the nooboo!  And I had a chuckle about you mixing up the music.  No worries, I'm sure both children will grow up to be adorable.

I have a work colleague called Akiko. I've always thought it was an lovely name, and yes she seems to have Ulrike's awesome eyes. Great selection of sims Jade has picked for her team. Little Moss in his cat costume is too cute! The house looks great too. Looking forward to seeing what Shota and his team have been up to next.

Oh, the babies! Nice work getting Akira and Ulrike together! I laughed about you mixing up the music you had them listen to. At least you mixed it up consistently, so you've still got both a boy and a girl to work with. :)

I'm finding I have to re-think my whole screenshot strategy to get nice pictures of toddlers, but you seem to have it down already. Those last few shots of Moss and Akiko are adorable! Maybe I need to do a Seven-Toddler Challenge just to figure that out.

Loved you locking Yumiko out of the computer room until she needed to learn about vampires. She looks so happy to get access!

The wedding had a lovely backdrop even if it wasn't as opulent as Jade might have liked. Way to work with what you've got, girl!

Loving the story thus far!  Since there was a gender mix up, could young Akiko, perhaps, become a spouse option for one of the other bloodlines?
Looking forward to seeing more of the Moris and vampires!!!

@wfgodot
The vampires seem to visit even if the sim family has never even been to Forgotten Hollow. Just glad to note that Caleb isn’t creeping around, too. He has responsibilities!
The separate toilet stalls look tacky but minimize embarrassing moments. Since I recently learned how to do roofing (lol, finally), I’m reluctant to build a two-story house for the Benjaminz. If they run out of room, I’d prefer to expand in the basement, even.
It’s hard starting a new game being poor and unskilled, with no mentors! Hah!

@cyclonenic
Thank you for your kind words and moral support! I hated having to leave Jade while she was pregnant, but at least the heir is a greenboo. (I’ve never had a greenboo or any rainboo before. I’m so excited!)

@FrancescaFiori
Stupid me and the music. But yes, I at least still ended up with a boy and girl!
About toddler screenshots, this is how I do it: Set up the shot then click Tab and use the W key to get as close as possible. Then I load the screenshot into photo-editing freeware and (the  key point) I crop it to 800x450 with scaling enabled. I crop a lot.
As a watcher, I’m a door-locking fiend! Sadly, I couldn’t lock the Mori household out of the café’s kitchen, which they constantly entered to wash their hands.  I might move that sink into an inaccessible room downstairs…

@PeregrineTook
I'm glad you're back! I'm not sure what the ruling is on an heir's sibling of an heir marrying into another bloodline. I'd think that would be taboo because the bloodlines would intermingle.
But since Moss is a boy and Akiko's a girl, they're still good to go even though she can't be aged up early. Once Moss moves out, Akiko becomes a townie, though, so then I can cake her up, I think (but I'm not absolutely sure).

1.2  Niches of Newcrest: Mori Lineage/Week 1a

Sunday

Candy: Dude, what did you bring us here for for? I was sleeping!
Travis: And Liberty and I were out partying.
Shota: Well, I wanted us to move here to our new but temporary living quarters at Potter’s Splay.
Summer: Wow, it’s really nice, Shota! It was totally worth camping out for a week…almost.

Shota: Oh, that’s not our home. That’s the front of the café. Our place is in back.
Yuki: But the room in back is completely empty!
We’re getting very low on funds so I had to stop building.
Candy: What the heck do you mean by “we”!? You don’t have to live in that ugly long rectangle thing, Watchette!

Shota: Actually, that’s the unfinished kitchen, dining, and living areas. Our bedrooms are downstairs.
Liberty: Ugh, it just gets worse! Where’s all our original stuff?
Travis: Yeah, like our beds, the kitchen appliances, and my tablet?
Yuki: Where’s my motion gaming rig!?
Shota: Well, as I learned from Ricalynn, your furnishings didn’t transfer because I invited you to move in while on your lot, not mine.

Anyhow, this is only temporary! We’re going to gradually build our real crib in Newcrest as our funds grow.
This café’s worth is already over $50k. When we sell it we can go all out on our own place.

Yuki: In the morning, we make a quick fishing trip to Magnolia Promenade before I leave for school.
Also, I quit my part-time job. Travis and Liberty quit their jobs, too, but Liberty joins the Science career.

Shota: I ensure Travis, Liberty, and Summer reach Level 3 in their respective skills. They need to be able to continue skilling while Candy and I are off dating.
Candy: There’s no getting around it! This place is really ugly…

Shota: At the Stargazer Lounge, Candy and I resume the Soulmate aspiration.
Our dates go smoothly here (no wonder it’s become Watchette’s fave early-stage date spot).

Shota: Candy, you must have known from the start that I didn’t just ask you to move in to be a helper.
I want us to share a life together, raise a family, and live our silver years side by side.
Candy: I feel the same way, Shota. I was a little anxious when you also moved in Summer and Liberty. But then, I began noticing all the little things you say and do around me.
Shota: Will you marry me and stay with me always, Candy?
Candy: I couldn’t imagine a life without you. But only if we could live somewhere nicer…

Candy: That’s my boss from Limelight calling me. Wow, I’m so late for work!
Shota: Why don’t you quit that job, Candy? I’ll earn enough for both of us and our children. All you’d have to do is stay home and paint.

And paint and paint and paint and paint. Did I mention Candy will be painting?

Candy: Let’s just elope, Shota. You need to hurry and buy Connections so you can start your career.
Shota: You’re so understanding, Candy. You know I’ll be making it up to you!

Candy: Don’t panic, Shota. I’m sure we'll eventually become soulmates.
Shota: I don’t have “eventually,” Candy. The Culinary career schedule at Level 4 only works on Monday followed by three days off!
Candy: Okay, okay. Well, what about trying for a baby?
They finally become Soulmates several hours later, but only after I quit, repaired the game, then traveled once after reloading.
s

Tuesday

Candy: Why’d you bring us all back here again to Newcrest? And what’s that building?
Living on Potter’s Splay wasn’t working. We need more space. You need separate skilling areas.
Shota: You don’t like the new house, folks? Living at the restaurant didn’t work for our big household.
Summer: Still no wall or floor coverings?
Nope…
Yuki: What happened to my garlic plants? You sold them by mistake!?

Travis: Liberty takes a day off work so we can spend all day at Granite Falls, except for Yuki who's got school.
Liberty: We’re gonna be rolling in dough before long.

Shota: Watchette, I don’t think I like what you’ve done with our Focused Room!

Behold, my unsightly solution to the household’s overwhelming obsession with woodworking: fencing with a locked gate. Mwahahaha!
Yuki: Awww, so unfair! Just because Travis and Liberty can craft camping mascots?

Wednesday

Candy: Where’s Liberty, Travis?
Travis: After getting into a Very Focused mood for work, she walked out the door about an hour ago.

Suddenly it happens! Out of the corner of my eye, I see a notice about Liberty finishing a sculpture. Whaaat?!
Unbelievable! She gets as far as changing for work then turns back around to craft a bunny sculpture? *weeps

Liberty: I’m 70 minutes late for work, but crafting that bunny sculpture was totes worth it!

Shota: Since Liberty’s so close to getting a promotion, I decide to open my café for several hours. Opening day!
Candy: Have your named your café yet, Shota?
Shota: Nope, I’m still thinking. Got any suggestions?

Shota: First things first, I inform our hostess that she’ll be undergoing Basic Training and praise her. I do the same for the cook and waiter.

Summer: Awww, we only have two sets of customers this afternoon!
Candy: I didn’t expect to have to wear a maid’s outfit!

Travis: There’s the waiter, taking Jade and Salim’s order! Why are they here?
Shota: Yeah, and I heard Jade was pregnant again but she must have had the baby already!
I’m so tempted to have you visit to find out if it’s a boy or girl and whether it's green...

Shota: In back of the café’s right side, we have one table that seats eight.
Travis: Hey, I’m liking this butler’s suit!

Waiter: Dude, don’t take that butler outfit so seriously! Cleaning up is my job!
Travis: Relax, bro! No one’s trying to take your job away from you.
The waiter never took an order from Alice’s table, probably because Candy"s welcoming the diners disrupted his timing. Not sure.

Candy: We didn’t open the cafe again at dinner time because I knew I’d be going into labor.
I brought Shota along but he was so tired, he just slept on a sofa the whole time. I'm not sure it that's better than playing BlicBloc or not.

Shota: Twin girls! We give them food names, because I'm a foodie.
Candy: I’m holding the Gen2 Heir, Murasaki. It means purple and is the sushi aficionado’s slang for soy sauce.
Shota: I’m holding Tamari, also a type of soy sauce but, unlike usual soy sauce made from fermented soybeans, tamari is a by-product of producing miso.

Shota: I have to say that it’s so weird to think that we’ll only be an active household until Murasaki moves out.
Candy: I guess that’s why our watcher is unwilling to give too much thought to the areas of the house unrelated to skilling and income.
Shota: Well, the twins have taken over the back bedroom!
Liberty: And where do the helpers go after being evicted from our lovely bedroom with the huge windows?

Liberty: Why am I not surprised? A dreary, windowless attic, of course.
Shota: Oh c’mon, Lib! You know you’ll only go there to sleep! We still need to leave room on this lot for the Mori Museum!
What about a basement bedroom instead?
Liberty: *sighs

Author’s Notes

•   Chapters: When I started this challenge, I planned for each update to cover one sim-week because (1) I’m still trying to figure out the challenge rules, and (2) I find myself constantly eager to play the other households.
For this update, however, I spent more time building than playing: first, the café and its back room, then downsizing the back room and building a house in Newcrest.
So I’ll be continuing Shota’s last three days of the week in another update.

•   Income-Generation: I initially overspent on the café, but the household income has stabilized. Travis and Liberty craft camping mascots, Candy and Summer paint, Yuki gardens, and Shota? Well, he’s the supervisor. (Actually, he works on his career and skill requirements.)

•   The Café: I’m shocked that only two tables got filled on Opening Day! The hardest part of the Restaurant option will be 3 days at a 5-star rating.

•   Living Quarters: One thing I only realized belatedly is that this challenge can require lots of building, even more so if choosing the Retail option.
It’s no secret that I avoid building whenever possible and don’t really enjoy it. But maybe I’ll improve by doing my own builds.
At the same time, each house structure is only active for one-fifteenth of the overall challenge time… *rationalizes my laziness about interior décor

Thankfully, no more building for the rest of Shota’s week! And twin toddlers…

Wow!  My first response to this was mere moments before the update!  Great minds think alike, I guess.
My suggestion for the restaurant name is "Eat Some Mori," of course, because I love bad puns.  Of course, it runs the risk of sounding like it suggests eating the Mori family, so...maybe not...

Nice chapter!  I really like the little cafe.  The house they ended up in looks good, too.  Too funny about the woodworking.  Mine were obsessed with it but not to the point of actually cancelling other actions to get to it.  Not like the massage table.

Ah, so Jade was expecting again.  It must be weird to know she had your nooboo, yet you can't go and play them!

Your fathers are so funny when it comes to labor.  I've never seen a dad-to-be do anything more than panic, so I'm highly amused at the nonchalant attitudes that yours have.  One is napping and one plays games.  Smooth, guys.

Poor helpers!  I feel bad for them!!!!

Twin toddlers?  A cake walk for you.

Ah forgot to reply last time!

Akira <3 He makes cute kids and Akiko is no exception. I love how you had her kinda match with her mom. Moss is a cutie too, all toddlers look pretty similar IMO so I guess we'll have to wait and see if he looks more like Jade or Salim. I'm excited to see their new bab, especially if they're green too!

It's good that Shota has some helpers right off the bat, that'll be really helpful once you get further into the restaurant. Twin girls are pretty exciting, I have yet to have a twin pregnancy following the twin update so I haven't experienced twin toddlers yet. Good luck with that! Candy is such a pretty sim but I've never actually played her haha. I really like her though. I'm sure Murasaki and Tamari will both be very beautiful with her as their mother.

You did make a maid/butler cafe! It's so adorable and the uniforms are perfect! I want to go.

I'm glad Shota and Candy are making use of the romantic aura at the rooftop bar, even if their accommodations at home are less than stimulating at the moment. Those wall and floor coverings are coming soon, guys, I'm sure!

I found the building aspect of this challenge tough in my first attempt as well, but for me it's a good chance to stretch some sim-muscles I don't ordinarily use, and to try out some building styles I wouldn't want to tolerate if I had to live in them for many generations, but that are fun to play with for one.

Congrats on the twins! I love their names! I'm also grateful for the food lesson. I'd been using tamari for ages without realizing it was different from regular soy sauce. So interesting!

So fun to see Jade and Salim at your restaurant, but now I'm also wild with curiosity about the new nooboo!

@PeregrineTook
Haha, I noticed that you’d posted just as I was preparing my previous post.
This café’s still not in full swing yet, so I’m going to wait a bit on the naming.
Since it’s a maid/butler café, I was thinking of “At Your Service,” but it’s not funny at all.

@wfgodot
I’d never had a father-to-be take a nap, either, but poor Shota’s energy was in the red zone when she took him along with her to the hospital.
The helpers thank you for your kind sympathy. Once I figure out where to put the family museum, I might add an extra bedroom or two with lots of windows on the ground floor. But only because you made me feel guilty, lol.

@NexttoNormal
I’ve been super lucky with the heirs so far. Moss Benjaminz inherited the green skintone and green eyes, while Murasaki Mori (you’ll meet her this chapter) inherits her father’s violet eyes.
Actually, I found it’s chaotic with so many helpers at the café , though four would be super useful for a retail store. Maybe I’ll need all four when the café gets busier.
I’ve never played Candy before either—I prefer her sister Yuki, not surprisingly.

@FrancescaFiori
Yes, my maid & butler café! Travis looks surprisingly dapper in his butler outfit and he cleans all by himself. I’ve never appreciated him more! Haha, all the rooms in the house will soon fully decorated with floor and wall coverings!
About the girls’ names…now you can visit your favorite sushi restaurant, casually ask for Murasaki, and see what response you get, hehe.

I was surprised that Jade and Salim came to the café! I included one table for eight, though, so I can visit the café with my other households. :D
And yes, not knowing about Jade’s baby was driving me crazy, too!

Niche Nerds in Newcrest: The Mori Lineage/Week 1b

Thursday

Shota: I’ve been so caught up trying to get settled that I’ve been neglecting my own requirements. What are they, anyway?
Let’s see--I need to max a career and the café must earn a 5-star rating for 3 days.
To earn more satisfaction points, I throw a dinner party for the Master Chef aspiration (which I won’t complete).
One thing about living with so many sims with the Outgoing trait, they’re constantly socializing!

Shota: In the evening, Watchette finally cannot stand the suspense a moment longer.
She dispatches me and Yuki over to the home of…the Benjaminz.
I’m technically a rival, so I choose to politely stay outside.
Yuki: But I’m a friend of Maiike, so I go straight to the bassinet.
Jade’s baby is a greenboo wearing a yellow onesie, which means a daughter!

Shota: I’m surprised when a little green boy waddles outside to greet me.
He must be Moss Benjaminz, the next heir. What an absolutely adorable fellow!

Friday

Candy: We’ve been at a loss about Summer’s role in our household.
She’s Level 5 painting, but all her paintings so far have been Normal quality except one.
Shota: So, I’ve thought of one way she could be useful…

Summer: Y’all use me as cowplant fodder!? I’m the only one with the Active trait, guys.
Pull that treadmill out of inventory and I’ll work on maxing Fitness.
Liberty: *milks the Essence of Inspired

Candy: Not much ink gets spilled about my sister Yuki because she’s still in high school.
But I’m so proud of her and what’s she done with the garden!
Yuki: I’ve been splicing away, trying to streamline the garden by grafting.
Except for the dozen spliced dragonfruit plants—they’re staying as my contribution to the family pot.
Shota: I agree, Candy, that your sister Yuki is really outstanding.
In fact, I fear another bloodline will snatch her up when Murasaki moves out!

Liberty: After Shota leaves for work, I start building the rocket ship with help from Travis and Yuki.
Travis: I’m working on the Nerd Brain aspiration!
Yuki: It would be so cool to visit Sixam and collect plants for our garden!

Saturday

Shota: I arrive home from my second day of work at 2 am with a promotion to Level 5 Chef.
Sheesh, only two days of work so far this week!
I better head inside—the girls have aged up and Candy’s been eager to plan their outfits!

Shota: Oh happy day! The heir, angelic Murasaki, has the most perfect name!
She’s inherited my violet eyes, so she gets violet hair to match!
Candy: And independent Tamari has blonde hair and brown eyes like me (though she was born with dark brown hair like Shota).

Shota: Don’t you think Tamari looks like a little boy?
Candy: But that’s the only outfit in a pale yellow shade that matches our hair!
Also, she aged up with that short hair and I think it looks cute on her!

Summer: At last, I get to work on a skill that I have a flair for!
Travis:  This rocketship is the bomb! Liberty, hurry up and catch up so we can do Nerd Brain together.
Liberty: Spoken like a true geek, Trav! Shota and Candy share Soulmate, but we share Nerd Brain!

Shota: I work from 2 pm this afternoon but plan to open the café for lunch.
In the morning, I take the time to read a story to the girls.
If you haven’t noticed, my lineage’s color theme is violet.
Jade Benjaminz’s color theme is obviously green, while Selene Sciarri’s is red and black.

Candy: While Murasaki listens raptly to her father’s story, Tamari suffers from an Angry +1 “Page Rage!” moodlet. So don’t listen, silly!

Shota: We open the café from home then arrive immediately after to find only two tables filled again.
Thanks to the Fyres, though, we get our first four-star review!

Shota: Yuki stays home with the girls, and I’ve brought along Candy, Travis, Liberty, and Summer.
The four of them parade endlessly into the kitchen to wash their hands in the sink.
Despite the door being locked to everyone except employees, they can still enter the kitchen.

Candy: The sink is required for a restaurant, however, so we can’t just delete.
Shota: Once again, Watchette finds an unsightly solution by moving the sink to an inaccessible room downstairs.

Shota: Once this family leaves, I purchase the second most expensive advertising package.
Then, I close the restaurant, travel home, open the restaurant, then travel back again.
Candy: This time, we have four tables of customers and another couple who arrive later.

Shota: After Travis, Candy, Liberty, and Summer finish welcoming the diners, prioritizing their orders, and checking the tables, I send Liberty and Summer home.
Travis and Candy can handle the café by themselves.

Candy breaks out into song at inopportune moments. I’m not sure the customers like that or not.
On the other hand, Travis is a true keeper. He cleans up autonomously both at the café and at home.

Candy: Check out our first five-star reviews, though they each average out to 4.5 stars.

Shota: At 10 pm, I get off work and return to the restaurant. I’m really digging these suits!
There are two tables of customers who just won’t leave!

Shota: We’ve earned enough perk points to add a second chef, so I go ahead and buy a second chef station and hire another chef.

Our new chef arrives before our last table, the Bjergsens, leave.
I take the opportunity to sign her up for Basic Training and praise her.
At 1 am, I give up on the Bjergsens actually paying for their meal and I close the restaurant. I really hate when diners won’t leave!
On the bright side, this cafe is now a two-star establishment!

Candy: When Shota and I get home, both twins are hungry.
We feed them quickly so that Watchette can prepare to switch to the next household.
Murasaki: See you two weeks from now!

Coming up next: Selene Sciarri and Caleb…
